A/N: so I've done nothing all afternoon except write this chapter so hopefully it's good considering I haven't done my homework yet lol

"To make bread you need ¾ of a cup of water. Not one cup,not ½, ¾ is it."

"Uh huh."

"Now try it out on your own."

"On my own?"

"Yeah."

Ben nodded reluctantly before measuring the water in the small bowl the bread was made in. He held it up for her to see.

"Is this good?"

"Perfect."

He started to pour the powder in and watched as it absorbed the water and became a roll. Rey picked it up and went to take a bite. Ben hoped that he hadn't been a failure once again.

"Not bad, not bad," she went to take a bite once again. "I could do better, but not bad."

He smiled at the fact that he hadn't failed miserably this time.

"I'm still not trusting you with making any meals though, not until you've mastered everything in a portion pack."

Ben's smile soon became a frown.

"I thought you'd be happy that you don't have to cook for the three of us."

He shrugged. "I thought I'll be fun to try cooking again."

"Maybe some other time, Finn needs some medication and the only way he'll have it is if it's in his food. So I have to be very careful with that, considering he doesn't know."

"Maybe I should tell him then."

Ben smirked and Rey made a face.

"Don't you dare," she glared at him.

"I'm kidding! Just kidding," he replied defensively, putting his arms up in the air.

"Good, because if you weren't I would've probably beaten you up."

"You really think you could beat me?"

Rey raised an eyebrow, "I wouldn't get too cocky about your ability Ben. You don't know my skill with a staff."

"I don't, but maybe you could show me?"

"Later, Finn needs his medicine right now and hopefully that'll put him to sleep for a few hours."

She picked up the fixed plate she made for Finn and pushed back the curtain that separated the kitchen from the beds.

Soon Ben was left to his own thoughts. When he came to realize it, he noticed that neither Hux nor Snoke had called in quite a bit. Maybe they got the map without him? The moment the thought appeared, the moment it was shut down.

He already knew the truth, they were waiting for him and that Rey would get involved in this fight, one way or another.

"Finn you're going to have to eat."

"What if I don't want to."

"You have to."

He narrowed his eyes, crossing his arms across his chest.

"No. I know you put meds in it."

"So? You don't taste them. Please Finn."

He still refused not trusting the medication. It wasn't his fault though, all his live he'd been a stormtrooper in the army of Starkiller, all he knew was fighting and war. He wasn't used to much of anything else.

"I won't hurt you."

"You promise?"

"I promise."

Rey caught eyes with him, giving him a soft smile.

"Okay...I'll eat."

"Thank you."

She grinned and so did he.

Ben already knew from the moment Rey left that she'd be there for a while.

But he didn't bother to join her. He found himself not able to be facing either of them.

He hadn't really spent anytime with Finn. To be honest Ben had avoided him, mostly because he used to be on his side. Barely anyone had seen Ben's actual face but there was probably something recognizable about him, and that was what he was scared of.

"Ben! Ben?"

"Yeah?"

"You want to join us?"

He opened his mouth to protest before being cut off.

"Please?"

"Coming!"

Ben stood up and made his way into the bed area where Finn lay and Rey sat by his side.

Finn looked to be not paying attention and falling asleep so that was quite a relief. The nerves once abundant, settled down until they were nothing.

"Are you okay?"

"Y-yeah I'm fine. Why would you ask?"

Rey looked down for a moment, "I don't know." She turned to glance at Finn who was currently resembling a log.

"Is he asleep?"

Rey nodded.

"You want to get out of here?"

"But what if he wakes up?"

"So?"

"So, that means he'll worry and try to find us. I don't want him worked up when he's injured."

"We can leave him a note."

"Ben..."

He walked towards the back getting a small piece of paper and a pencil.

"Dear Finn, me and Rey have decided to take a walk because we need a break. When you walk up don't fret, we are fine just out somewhere. From Ben."

"Ben this is ridiculous."

"No it's not."

He sighed the paper quickly before placing it on Finn's chest.

"Shall we."

Ben offered his head to her. And surprisingly, she took it.

The two walked out hand and hand and it was almost a peaceful bliss. It seemed as if they could forget the ongoing war for a small moment, Ben found the idea quite nice considering he was from her enemy country and a traitor to his own family.

It was quite nice to be called 'Ben' even though he hated the name. The name was a nice refresher and it made him forgot what he had to sacrifice to get the respect and power he believed he'd deserved.

Ben remembers his first run in with Snoke. The man had been a royal advisor in the Solo-Organa court, one of his mother's closest friends and the royal family's most trusted aid.

But that all changed once he got power hungry. He never saw his position as royal advisor as enough and thought that if he'd get rid of the royal family he'd have the throne for himself.

Queen Leia had managed to escape with many of the royal court including Poe. But Ben and Han weren't so lucky.
At the time he was only a teenager, conflicted about his future position and his family and that's what Snoke used against him. He promised him the things he could only dream of.

Respect

Power

But things like those don't come without a price. And that price was Han Solo's life.
