A/N: so this chapter is a bit longer than usual but not much. I kind of stretched it out a bit since I'm currently waiting to be picked up from school and I need to pass time lol
The next morning he woke up to the feeling of a sharp sizzling pain. Where the pain had come from was unknown to Ben at first, but as soon as he opened his eyes he spotted Rey's droid next to him, the electrical shock emanating from it.
"Ouch! Damn it."
He jumped back from the bed, shooting a glare at the droid. A few irritated beeps came as a reply before Ben decided to fully get up.
Once again Rey hadn't been there, but neither had Finn. Now he was stuck with a droid who hates his guts. for who knows how long. BB-8 decided to shock him once again, the electric current hitting the back of his thigh.
"Ouch! What the hell was that for?"
The droid made a sound resembling a snicker before rolling out the door. Ben rubbed at the spot where he was hit. It stopped hurting after a few moments and he soon found himself looking forward to when this mission will be over.
And maybe once the map is obtained by The First Order he could take on a personal mission to dismantle that droid himself. It sounded like a good idea at first but it soon reminded him why the droid most likely hated him.
Maybe BB-8 already knew who he was.
The thought made him nervous.

"Finn? Finn!"
There was no response, only the echo of her voice bouncing off the wall of the old castle. Rey had decided to venture further than usual to scavenge and Finn had suggested the castle in the distance. Now she couldn't find him.
"Finn! I swear, you better not be messing with me! This isn't funny."
Rey walked up the hall, continuing to shout his name out into the void of emptiness. The bag filled with scavenged valuables hung loose over her shoulder, making jingling sounds with each step she took.
"Finn?"
"R-Rey!"
A voice of pure desperation filled her ears and a wash of both worry and adrenaline came over her.
"I'm coming Finn don't move!"
"As if I can."
Her legs started to go faster after hearing his voice once again.
"Finn?"
"Over here!"
Rey turned towards the left, heading into the left wing of the castle.
Eventually her eyes spotted Finn and she sighed in relief.
"F-finn!"
She ran over to him and squeezed him tight.
"Ouch! Be careful."
Rey backed away from him slightly.
"What happened?"
"I was looking around in this area for something and I don't know if you've noticed but there's something currently crushing my leg."
She jumped back, noticing a part of the ceiling laying on top of his leg. With a grunt Rey pushed it off, his leg looking oddly bent and swollen. Finn winced as she pressed her fingers against the sides of his calve.
"It's broken...but not too bad. We should head out of here."
"And how could we do that."
She stuck out her arm, pulling him up.
"Sling your arm around my shoulder and put up your broken leg. I'll help you walk back to the speeder."
He nodded and soon the pair stumbled out of the castle, Finn making a pained expression with every step taken.
"We're going to be back soon, I promise. Just get up behind me and hold on tight, I'll be okay."
He nodded, face still strained in pain. After a short struggle Finn got onto the speeder, arms holding Rey tight, and his face going pale.
"Hold on Finn."
Soon the two rode off into the horizon, and Rey prayed that Finn would be okay.
He better be.

Ben was bored. Time had flown by extremely slowly, nothing much had happened except for the occasional shock from BB-8.
But that got boring very soon, so he went outside to look to see if she'd be coming back soon.
She better.
And she did. If he squinted his eyes hard enough he could spot the speeder heading towards him at full speed.
"Rey!"
Ben waved at her but the closer she got the more he could see a panic stricken expression on her face.
"What happened?"
She went silent and looked at him, her eyes sad and face full of worry.
"What happened?"
"I-It's Finn. He got injured."
"How?"
"Something fell and he broke his leg."
Ben went silent, eyes scanning over Finn as he struggled against Rey's shoulder. A feeling of caring swelled inside of him.
That was something new.

"It's going to be alright darling, it's only a broken bone," the healer let out a small laugh before continuing to apply the plaster to his leg.
"What are you doing?" Finn looked to be almost terrified as the strips on linen were placed around his leg, soon followed by a coating of a weird murky mixture.
"It's what's going to help heal your leg. I'm making a cast."
Ben almosts scoffed, if they were in the country of Starkiller in the First Order province then his leg would've been fine and healed a while ago. It was quite an adjustment to be living in the Jakku province, considering that where he was from, everything was basically handed to him.
"It'll take about two to three weeks to heal. Just make sure he has enough rest," the healer stood up and handed Finn some crutches.
Smiling grimly, he slide them under his arms and started to limp around.
"That'd be a payment of 25."
Finn reached into his pocket and pulled out a few coins.
"I have 20."
"Well you're missing a 5."
He looked down at first before looking at both Ben and Rey.
Rey shook her head slowly, almost ashamed.
Ben had the money, Snoke had given him a bag of coins before he left and Ben wasn't too keen on spending it.
Rey give him a sad glance and he soon found himself reaching into his pocket and pulling out a coin worth five.
The healer took it from his palm. "Thank you, now run along, the boy needs his rest."
Rey gave the woman a small smile before herding Finn and BB-8 near the speeder.
"You didn't have to do that, you know that right?"
"I know that and I wanted to."
"You'd be the last person I would've expected to do that, considering the glares you gave him yesterday," she smiled before looking down. "I would've given the extra five if I had it with me, I forgot to bring money with me..."
"It's fine, really. I wanted to do it."
"Well in that case," Rey placed a hand gently on his shoulder. "Thank you."
Ben didn't say anything, letting the moment continue on.
"We should probably head over to BB-8 and Finn now. Poor guy really just needs to lay down and rest."
"I guess so, also you owe me that cooking lesson."
"You mean teaching you the easiest thing to do in this place? I'm surprised you could manage to scavenge but can't even make a portion."
"I had more of an easy childhood..."
"I see that," she nodded. "Well they won't be waiting for an eternity."
The duo walked out towards the speeder and collaborated in an effort to help Finn inside.
During the ride home Ben found a smile creep onto his lips as he fondly remembered the small moment that had come between the two.
She was going to teach him how to cook, only him.
It was in that moment in which he felt special.
Maybe just a bit.
A/N: hopefully you liked that chapter because I want standing in the freezing cold for 20 minutes to be worth it😂
