Backstory:
Aspen grew up in a really nice and wealthy family, as an only child. They were really strict though, and put a lot of pressure on her to be the 'perfect lady' which is probably the cause of her slightly rebellious and carefree attitude. Her parents weren't around much also and she was mostly taken care of by a nanny. So, she didn't care much of their authority either because her nanny basically raised her all by herself. This is why she has a trust issues, and shuts out anyone that loses her trust. Her parents promised her many things when she was younger, that they'd show up to more school functions, they'd be home for dinner in time, just a bunch of bullshit like that. She takes promises and putting her trust in people seriously.

Why they joined: When she told her parents she was joining the Selected they were ecstatic, hoping she would marry the prince or even his bestfriend. But they doubt her because of her adventurous carefree attitude that 'no boy will like' and now she's not only hoping to fall in love but prove her parents wrong.
