Place avengers in 2014 instead of 2012 so Percy is 20 at invasion (may)
Percy was 21 when it happened. He had a pretty good life going for him considering he had broken up with Annabeth as she drew attracted to some Hectate girl that shared her passion for creating different ways to solve problems. Percy was happy for her and they remained friends despite the genius girl realizing late that she was more attracted to females.
On the other hand, when the child of Poseidon had returned to mortal civilization he was soon approached by a group of agents that said they worked for S.H.I.E.L.D., he happily complied on the conditions that the other demigods and his family were left unbothered. It was a few years later when he finally finished high school and college that he decided he wanted more and joined the government-run group.
He went through training easily and even aced his tests when compensated for his dyslexia and ADHD (Who knew, having to answer questions while sparing was the answer?), and he eventually ended up in the almost year-old group of Avengers on the recommendation of his handler, Black Widow.
This lead to this moment as the group stood in a tense loose circle around their newest edition under the condition that he be kept in line as he makes back the damage he caused.
It was Loki if you haven't guessed.
The God still had minimal shackles on for the journey to Midgard and held a fake facade of confidence as he was dragged around like a pet by his brother to the tower. The two sides stared each other down as Thor uncomfortably held his brother's shackles.
The group whipped around as the Agent in the back snickered, Tony, having spent months trying to get more than a smile out of the younger member. Percy walked up to the god easily with a smirk plastered to his face. "You look like you could be a dog," he circled the god humorously and came to a stop in front as he looked down on Loki, "All chained up."
Loki frowned and resisted the urge to shuffle his feet at the scrutiny or lash out at the jab, "not by choice I assure you, Perseus."
Percy grabbed the god's chin and casually looked his face over as well as the rune filled collar that bound him by twisting his head from side to side. "It's Agent Jackson now," he said leaning into his ear, loud enough for the others to hear but it sounded almost like a purr. Loki tried to hide the shivers the no longer teen gave him as the agent stepped back to join his group.
"You know each other," Natasha said more than asked.
Percy was back in his Agent mode but responded, "yes we have history from before I joined S.H.I.E.L.D."
"History?" Steve asked, the others seeming to recover from the shock.
Loki just stared at the demigod and admired how sexy and lethal he looked in the tight S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform. "Loki used to visit Earth to escape the Asgardian supremacy and prejudice from time to time. He's considered a friend of my family and we had interacted on numerous occasions before he joined the chitauri Army," Agent Jackson responded coolly.
"Interacted how?" Clint said as he stared at his training buddy warily.
"My cousins had a habit of pranking my other family members, we both participated when available," Percy smiled slightly at the fond memories from back then.
Tony then spoke up, "well Reindeer Games is pretty quiet. Have anything to say?" Eyes went back to the God that insisted on staring at the young Agent.
"We did way more than that," Loki licked his lips at the memory, still timid of the demigod's possible reaction. Percy lightly hummed in agreement but didn't comment.
Clint's eyes flashed as he stepped forward and held an arrow up to the god's throat, "what did you do to him?" he growled.
Loki, seeming to snap out of his haze and gave a smirk, "I assure you, Barton, that he was perfectly legal at the time." He laughed as the archer turned on his friend so fast he probably got whiplash.
"You had sex with him?!" he practically yelled in Percy's face.
Percy suppressed a smirk at Loki's antics and kept a blank face as he wiped the spittle off his face. "We didn't have sex, we were interrupted, but yes we were involved," he said impassively. "Now if this meeting is done I have paperwork to do before training," with that the agent turned to the door.
"Fossegrimen," Loki called out weakly as his face fell again at the prospect of the demigod leaving, and reached out to the young Avenger almost desperately. It was tense as Percy stopped with a hand on the handle and Thor sucked in a sharp breath at the Norse name, it was a beast's name. Loki felt uncomfortable with how he was showing weakness but decided Percy was more important, "please."
Percy huffed as he turned and faced the room. He looked over the wary, warning and worried faces that were directed to him, not forgetting the small look of betrayal Clint was trying to hide. He winced at that. "Release him, Thor, I'll watch him until you all settle down a bit. Later you can watch me beat his ass in training," no comment was made other than Thor getting a go-ahead nod from Steve. Loki backed up from the man he had been reaching out for. He had a mild look of horror, wincing as his words failed him like they seemed to do with the Son of Poseidon.
Percy happily noted the spark in Clint's eye as he turned back to the door. "Nøkken, come," he said as he heard the chains drop. He repressed a sigh of relief as a familiar pressure wrapped around his upper right arm. They walked out of the room, ignoring the gasps and failed blocks at Loki's sudden leap at Percy.
The two were quiet as they walked down the hallways towards Percy's room. They could talk since they had learned a long time ago that Percy could talk to water snakes like he could fish, but they stayed silent. Loki's head rested so he could observe his lover as they walked, thoughts on how he should have listened to the demigod before he got caught by the chitauri.
"If you think any louder you're going to get a headache," Percy casually said as they waited in the elevator to go to the Agent's floor.
Loki unwraps himself from Percy's arm to drop to the ground and take his Asgardian form. "I'm sorry," he said finally, head bowed in defeat.
Percy raised an eyebrow as he still faced the door, "For which part? For not listening to me, getting caught and put under mind control, or attacking the city that all my family and I live in?"
"All of it. I should have listened to you. You were right and I was wrong to assume that my age was better suited than your experience in higher-order warfare."
There was silence as the doors opened and they started walking again. "So why New York?" Percy asked.
Loki stumbled. "I, um, well I thought you would be the one to take me down, to make it all stop," Loki said sadly as they made it to the door. Percy 's face contorted into a furious scowl and he whipped the door open, throwing Loki into the basic room and closed the door. The god scrambled as Percy pounced and held Loki down.
"Say that to my face! You don't get to repeat what Luke did!" Percy screamed into his boyfriend's face, continuing his rant until he had said his bit, tears making themselves evident.
Loki gasped for air as he clawed at the hands clamped around his neck, "-gasp- Perse-gasp-us -gasp- I can't -gasp- breathe."
Percy, realizing what he was doing, let go and collapsed himself onto the god. "It hurt so bad to see you like that," he whispered as he listened to Loki's chest movements that heaved to recover from the loss of oxygen.
They lay like that on the floor for a while, Loki at some point playing with Percy's short raven hair as he whispered his apologies and comforting words.
"So how did you end up with the all mighty Avengers?" Loki asked idly while he failed to suppress a smirk.
Percy shrugged, "I joined S.H.I.E.L.D. so I could use my fighting skills since I can't do much else. I somehow got stationed here, probably for my powers."
"And not your heritage?"
"Um..." Loki gave him a look. "What? It's not like I can. Uncle Z would blast them out of the sky," Percy defended.
"Of course, Perseus. I would hate to see your new mortal friends perish," Loki chuckled.
"Awwww. I knew you didn't hate them!" Percy cooed, ghosting a smile.
"I never had a reason too," Loki defended with a pout.
Percy buried his head into the crook of the god's neck. "I'm glad your back," he mumbled.
Loki made his first true smile in a long time, "I missed you too."
A/N Sorry if it's kind of shitty. I wrote it a while ago and just edited it now for posting.
Tell me what you think
Love you all! - Ghost
