Going All the Way!

"CHARIZARD, DODGE IT!" Ash screamed.

This was it. The moment he had been waiting for. 15 years of blood, sweat, and tears have led him to this moment and he wasn't going to let it slip through his fingers again.

As the Hyper Beam drew closer, Charizard opened up his wings and began to take flight. However, even he wasn't fast enough to dodge the ferocious attack.

The Hyper Beam hit the dragon full force in the stomach, sending him careening into the stadium's wall. A cloud of dust ensued soon after the impact and prevented the match from continuing.

Over time, the dust began to settle and revealed that Charizard was on the ground. However, despite everything, Charizard slowly got back on his feet and stared down his opponent.

With a labored growl, the dragon began to take a step forward, his knees buckling in response. However, to everyone's dismay, the combination of the initial blast and the harsh landing was too much for him and he inevitably fell to the ground.

Ash's heart dropped at the sight. Everything had been going great at the beginning of the battle. Ash had gotten his opponent down to his last Pokemon, but what he wasn't expecting was the power, strength, and skill the Pokemon would possess.

"Charizard is unable to battle!" The referee called out. "Tyranitar wins the round!"

The crowd was dead silent. Ash had absolutely dominated the league throughout the preliminaries and the finals, yet one of his strongest Pokémon was just taken out after only a few hits.

Ash was speechless. He had only one Pokémon left, his trusty electric rodent Pikachu, and if he went down... then that was it. There were no more chances after that. It was now or never and he knew which option he preferred.

"It's time to shine buddy." Ash looked down at his side and gave Pikachu a determined glance. The Pokemon nodded in return and bounded out to his starting position. The crowd erupted into a fit of cheers and cries at the sight of the tiny electric mouse entering the arena.

As the two Pokémon took their battle stances, Ash glanced toward his opponent. The man seemed to be around his age and just as determined to win.

"May the best trainer win." Ash whispered to himself. "The very best."

Ash took a second to take in a deep breath and look toward the stands where the people watching over him were seated. All of his friends and family were there, some of which he hadn't seen in a long time. However, he could only focus on one of them.

The one whose eyes were the same color as the water she knew and loved. The one whose hair resembled the fire that burned inside of her. The one who he called... the love of his life.

As Ash stood in awe at her beauty, Misty noticed his impenetrable stare and smiled at her boyfriend of 3 years. She blew him a kiss, threw her arms into the air, and began to jump up and down, screaming and cheering as loudly as possible.

Despite the roar of the crowd, Ash could hear Misty as plain as day. Actually, that's all he could hear. It was like he was suddenly cut out of existence and placed in another... one where all he could see... all he could hear... was her.

This caused a warmth to build up inside Ash and made him even more determined to win than ever. It was like a fire was suddenly lit inside of him and the only way to douse it was to win. He was going to finally do it. If not for him, then for her.

"Let the battle... COMMENCE!" The referee yelled as he retreated from the skirmish that was about to unfold.

'Speed will be the key here.' Ash thought. 'He won't be able to keep up with Pikachu if we can be quick enough.'

"Tyranitar, start this off with a Rock Throw!" His trainer called out.

"Pikachu, dodge it with Quick Attack and then use Double Team to confuse him!" Ash commanded his Pokemon in response.

"Pika-pika-pika-pika-pika-pika!" Pikachu huffed as he built up speed and became nothing but a flash of light. The Rock Throw had missed by a mile and Pikachu then began to split into his copies.

"Tyranitar use Sandstorm!" Suddenly, Tyranitar roared into the sky and the entire area became engulfed in an unforgiving sandstorm, which hindered Pikachu's sight and broke apart his copies in the process.

"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash called out through the raging sandstorm.

Pikachu followed Ash's command and jumped into the air as his cheeks began to spark with electricity. "Pika... CHUUUUU!" The Pokemon screamed as he unleashed the bolt of lighting. However, the attack missed due to Pikachu's lack of sight through the thick sandstorm, which then gave Tyranitar and his trainer the advantage.

"Tyranitar use Stone Edge!" The giant Pokémon roared as he smashed into the ground in front of him, sending sharp-edged rocks shooting out of the ground. Pikachu hastily jumped to the right but didn't react in time and fell victim to a devastating critical hit.

The Pokemon soared through the air before finally hitting the ground. The audience gasped, most of which stood up in their seats, and watched for any movement from the Pokemon. To everyone's relief, Pikachu was able to get back up on his feet, shake off the dirt, and take a battle stance.

Ash let out a sigh of relief at the sight. However, the stress never went away. It only seemed to intensify when he realized that one more hit like that would mean the of this fight. Frantically, Ash surfed through his mind for any ideas... until he suddenly found one.

"Pikachu, we aren't gonna do anything with this sandstorm hindering us! Use Quick Attack and run in a circle to suck in the sand!"

Pikachu looked over his shoulder and nodded before blitzing forward in a blaze of speed and running in the circle Ash had ordered him to. Just like Ash had thought, a vortex of wind and electricity began to form around the Pokemon as he continued to run faster and faster. Suddenly, there was a sudden explosion of electricity and a tornado formed around Pikachu.

It immediately sucked in the sand from the storm that had been afflicting Pikachu's performance for most of the battle and even began to pull Tyranitar closer.

"Tyranitar, plant yourself!" The Pokemon's trainer ordered.

Before he could be pulled any closer, Tyranitar widened his stance and held himself in place. 'Uhhhh, this will never work.' Ash groaned in his mind. 'At least it completed it's intended purpose.'

"Pikachu, you know what to do!" Ash yelled to his partner.

After Ash said this, the bright yellow light inside the vortex started to spin in the opposite direction. "Pika... CHUUUUUUU!!!" The Pokemon screamed.

Suddenly, the vortex seemed to collapse in on itself and the sand was evenly dispersed across the battlefield in a violent explosion of wind. The shockwave from the explosion even stunned people high up in the stands, but that didn't stop the entire audience from erupting into a loud roar at the sight of Pikachu standing where the tornado once was, panting with a slight grin on his face.

"Alright, Pikachu!" Ash cheered. "Now, use Double Team and Quick Attack to get close to Tyranitar!" Ash cried out to his Pokémon.

"Pikachu!" The mouse screamed as he rushed forward and split into his copies.

"Tyranitar use Earthquake and destroy them all!" The opposing trainer screamed.

Tyranitar roared as he began to stomp ferociously. The resulting Earthquake immediately ripped Pikachu's copies to shreds and proceeded to shake the entire stadium as a fracture in the ground began to open up right under Pikachu. However, before the ground could open up ad swallow the Pokemon whole Ash gave his command.

"Pikachu use your tail to propel yourself into the air and then use Iron Tail!"

"Pika Pi!" Pikachu nodded as he shot forward, jumped into the air, and used his tail as a spring to launch himself into the air only mear seconds before he would have been engulfed by the Earth.

As he soared toward his intended target, Pikachu tail began to turn to steel as he brought it forward and positioned himself for the devesting hit. However, their rival had another trick up his sleeve.

"Tyranitar use Iron Defense!" His trainer ordered.

Right before Pikachu could land his attack, Tyranitar's skin turned into solid steel. As metal clashed against metal, sparks flew and Pikachu managed to launch himself backward before the pseudo-legendary could grab ahold of him.

As this was all happening, time seemed to slow for Ash as he, once again, suffered his mind for ideas. Suddenly, he had one.

'Steel is vulnerable to electric type attacks!' Ash exclaimed in his head.

"PIKACHU, USE THUNDER NOW!" Ash yelled as loud as he possibly could.

The trainer opposite him went wide-eyed and tried desperately to get Tyranitar to cancel the defensive move. However, Tyranitar was unable to do so in time and the Thunder attack hit with a devastating effect.

Tyranitar roared in pain as he dropped to his knees. However, he was not deterred in the slightest. The ferocious Pokemon slowly looked up and growled at Pikachu before standing up and roaring into the air. Despite the fact that the attack Tyranitar just tanked was super-effective, all it seemed to do was piss it off more than anything.

"Tyranitar use Hyper Beam!" The pseudo-legendary roared once more as a bright white light started to build up in the Pokemon's mouth. This worried Ash more than anything before.

To Ash, it seemed to be... poetic in a sense. The same attack that had just ended Charizard... was going to be the end to his chance of ever facing the Elite 4 and finally fulfilling his dream of becoming the Pokemon Master... unless... unless it wasn't.

"Pikachu, use Quick Attack and run straight for Tyranitar!" The entire audience gasped at this order.

"What is he thinking!" May and Dawn exclaimed together.

"He's going to lose if he does that!" Brock yelled.

Misty simply chuckled and looked at the three of her friends. "Guys, it's Ash we're talking about here. He has a plan. Trust me." Misty then leaned on to the barrier between her and the battle directly in front of her. A teaspoon of doubt could be seen fluttering in her eyes.

She sighed and whispered to herself. "Come on Ash. You must have a plan... don't you?"

As Pikachu edged closer and closer to Tyranitar, his Hyper Beam became closer and closer to full charge. Pikachu was about 20 feet in front of him when Tyranitar's attack was ready to be released.

"USE IT NOW!" The trainer screamed.

Tyranitar roared at the top of his lungs before he unleashed the devastating attack. As the Hyper Beam cut through the air, Ash devised the next step in his strategy.

"Pikachu, use Electro Ball and absorb it by using Volt Tackle!" Ash called out to his trusty Pokémon.

Pikachu cried out as he jumped into a front flip and formed a ball of pure electricity with his tail. "Pika... CHUUUU!" The Pokemon screamed as he shot the ball forward.

In a graceful manner, Pikachu managed to land on his feet and continue to blitz forward right behind the Electro Ball. Suddenly, electricity began to spark in his eyes as his entire body was engulfed by lightning. Pikachu then began to build up speed as he drew closer and closer to the ball of electricity.

Once the electric mouse got close enough, he began to merge with the Electro Ball. Suddenly, a massive explosion of electricity occurred and blinded the audience for a split second. "PIKACHU!!!" was all that could be heard echoing throughout the entire stadium as a now supercharged Pikachu shot forward faster than a speeding bullet.

Just before the Hyper Beam hit, a loud explosion of sound could be heard as Pikachu broke through the sound barrier. All that could be seen was a streak of yellow light and electricity as Pikachu collided with the Hyper Beam and managed to completely shatter it like a pane of glass. The entire audience was speechless as Pikachu continued on his path straight for Tyranitar. They had never seen anything like this before.

"That's not possible!" The trainer screamed.

"Tyranitar use..." Before the trainer could even get one more word out of his mouth, Pikachu hit Tyranitar directly in the chest with a loud "BANG!" and sent him flying backward and straight into the wall, which resulted in a massive cloud of debris and dust to cover the entire battlefield.

However, even after the seemingly ruthless attack by Pikachu, Tyranitar slowly pushed the rubble off of him and stood back up. Ash didn't know how to feel nor how to react to this. He had never seen a Pokemon take this much punishment before.

He was almost ready to admit defeat... until he looked into Tyranitar's eyes. He recognized that look. A small grin soon become adorned on his face.

"Alright, Tyranitar!" The trainer cheered. "Just hang in there buddy! Use..."

Suddenly, Tyranitar's knees began to buckle and he soon fell to his hands and knees. The powerful Pokemon tried to push himself back up one last time but just didn't have enough strength left to do so. As his arms began to wobble under his own weight, Tyrnatiar admitted defeat and fell to the ground.

The entire audience immediately roared to life as the referee began the announcements.

"Tyranitar is unable to battle!" The referee walked up to Ash and held his arm up in the air. "This means the new Indigo League Champion is none other than Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!"

Ash didn't know what to say. After years of trials and errors, he had finally beat the league and became Champion! Ash felt tears come to his eyes as Pikachu jumped into arms and snuggle into the trainer's chest.

"I'm so proud of you." Ash whispered through the tears and gripped the Pokemon tighter.

He then placed Pikachu on his shoulder as he wiped the excess tears from his face. Ash then faced his attention toward the stands where his friends and family were seated. As he did so, all he could see was a crying redhead running straight toward him with outstretched arms.

Ash suddenly felt a small movement on his shoulder as Pikachu jumped to the ground. Ash wondered why he did this until Misty tackled him to the ground and embraced him. "YOU DID IT! YOU FINALLY DID IT!" She screamed.

Ash chuckled through the pain as he lifted Misty up with him and began to twirl her in his arms. The crowd only became louder at the sight. As the two began to calm down, they found themselves staring into one another's eyes.

Misty edged forward slightly and wrapped her arms around Ash's neck, while Ash wrapped his arms around her waist. "I'm so proud of you." Misty whispered.

"You want to know something?" Ash asked with a grin as he slowly leaned forward, tilting his head slightly in preparation for what was to come next.

Misty giggled at this as she did the same. "What?" She asked with a grin.

"I couldn't have done this without you." As Ash closed his eyes and continued to lean in, Misty placed a finger on his lips and giggled. Ash slowly opened his eyes and chuckled. "What's so funny?"

"Next time, tell me something I don't know." Ash stared into her eyes for a second before breaking out into a small laugh along with here. They then looked into each other's eyes once more before finally coming together for a kiss.

The kiss didn't last too long, but it meant everything in the world to the couple. It was a constant reminder of their love for one another and how long it took for it to finally blossom. Too long if you ask either of them.

After the kiss, Ash rested his forehead against Misty's for a second before his signature toothy grin became plastered on his face.

"I love you Mist."

"I love you too Ash." The two giggled, once more, before they were both interrupted by the paparazzi and media that was suddenly surrounding the couple. The flashing cameras combined with the hundreds of questions that followed irritated them both to the core.

"Ash will you..."

"Ash, can I..."

"Misty are you..."

"Please one at a time!" Ash exclaimed.

A female reporter for Delphox News decided to speak up first. "Ash, are you going to be competing against the Elite 4 for the chance to become the Pokémon Master?" They expected him to take a second to think, but he smiled and gave them his reply immediately.

"I didn't come all this way and travel this long to end my journey here. I'm going all the way!" Ash yelled proudly as he turned around and brought Misty into another kiss.

The battle had been hard-fought and the victory that followed came with an awesome reward, but Ash's journey was far from over. Of course, he's happy to have made it this far, but the dream is to become Pokémon Master and that's exactly what he plans to do.

And that's a wrap! I hope y'all enjoyed it and please feel free to leave y'alls thought on both the battle scenes and the story in general. If there is anything y'all think I can improve on then let me know! Talk to y'all later. Peace!
