Chapter 74: Playing the Devil's game
After a while into the game, Silence fell across the room, there was no sound other than the sound of the Poker chips being placed down on the table and the constant tapping Yuzo did when he needed to focus. Jimin continued shaking his head to bring his attention to the cards. He wasn't feeling up to playing. He practiced for so long that his mind completely shut off during the whole game. Jimin just couldn't focus at all. The man looked up to his opponent who was looking at his cards, maintaining a good blank face through it all as Jimin exhaled his breath and inhaled again just to keep calm.
"Getting really silent in here..." Yuzo said, setting down his cards and looking up at Jimin. "Your turn. After that we raise the blind." Yuzo said as Jimin nodded.
"I get silent... Because I'm trying to focus." Jimin replied but Yuzo only tilted his head. Longing to laugh over this.
"Is that so? Ah, Jimin you aren't fooling anyone. We all know you would normally try to distract me.." Yuzo mentioned, watching Jimin set down a card and look up at the Poker chips Near the blind aswell. "Anyways, time to raise the blind." Yuzo stated, sitting back on his seat and making sure he gazed at Jimin in the eyes.
"Go ahead." Jimin stated.
"If I win, I get to keep the Bunny." Yuzo said with a wink. Hinting at Jimin he wanted to keep Jungkook. "It's hunting season, you know?"
"Hmm.. Well aware." Jimin responded, sitting up on his chair and looking at Yuzo. "I want to find it..." Jimin replied as Yuzo already knew that Jimin longed to find Mr. Jeon's body. Atleast the place where he was burried secretly.
"It was such a private burial. A proper one too. Casket and all... Gravestones and flowers. You're welcome." Yuzo whispered as Jimin looked up at Yuzo in silence again. "But not in a cemetery."
"Raise up the blind..." Jimin requested making Yuzo smile a little while Jimin had nothing but a sour glare now.
"Alright then... Come here.." Yuzo whispered as he placed his cards faced down and Jimin did aswell, leaning over the table to look deeply into Jimin's gleaming yet worried eyes.
"If I win... You'll have to kiss me privately... Rent out a room here if you want to. Let's just have our little make out session for hmm... About five to fifteen minutes in the room. Just for the sake of nostalgia." Yuzo added as Jimin was shocked to hear this coming from a man who was already in a relationship. Although, his girlfriend wasn't with him at the moment. Jimin looked at the cameras and back at Yuzo.
"If I win..." Jimin stated, quickly standing up and gripping onto his collar. "I'll kill you... See how you like it..." Jimin hissed. At that moment, Yuzo only looked at Jimin, cracking another smile as everyone in the lounge started to oo and cheer at how interesting this was getting. Yet, Taehyung was of course baffled at what Jimin was saying.
"Deal..." Yuzo stated. It didn't take long for the two to continue the game soon after. Jimin gazed at his bundle of cards, staying silent afterwards when Yuzo decided to open his mouth again.
"Why are you so determined on finding... 'him'?" Yuzo inquired, glancing up at Jimin and then looking down at his cards.
"If I don't... I'll never stop thinking about it.." Jimin whispered in return.
"You have a reason why, Park Jimin. I know you. I know what type of person you really are..." Yuzo stated. "You aren't very good at Poker. How many times do I have to remind you that you can never win against me? I'm surprised you managed to win against Jungkook for once. Oh, and did you get him the ring yet? Or are you too caught up with life to even pay him some mind..."
"Listen here, Sungko... You don't get to comment on my love life if you can't possibly take care of yours." Jimin retorted, silencing Yuzo. But only for a while.
"I see, very well." Yuzo replied suddely dropping a Poker chip from being distracted for too long. He quickly got off his seat and picked it up from the ground, still holding and hugging his cards close. Jimin was then waiting for Yuzo to sit back on his chair as he can practically hear the people watching through the cameras, laughing at Yuzo's clumsiness.
"Here it is." Yuzo added, picking up his poker chip from the ground and coming back to sit. Almost instantly, Jimin realized Yuzo's hand cards looked completely different. Especially the card in the middle. This made Jimin's blood boil. He knew the man was cheating. Towards showdown, he was willing to go off and cheat to win Jimin over for five to fifteen minutes in a room and of course, a bullet through the whole Jeon family's head.
Concurrently, Hoseok was walking to Jungkook's room to sleep, holding a cup of milk as he walked into the room, catching Jungkook resting his head on the table as the saphire was held up on the base that layed on a higher platform so Jungkook can fix it. So far, Jungkook had most of the pieces super glued together and attatched. If he was to mess up one piece, he would have to start all over again.
The boy had restless nights trying to put the gem back together. Holding jewler's pointy fine tip tweezers to put the pieces specifically back together and wrapped around his head was a pair of big double eye magnifying head set of jewlers loupes to make sure he puts the pieces in the right place. Jungkook was asleep next to the gem until Hoseok walked up to the boy and tapped him awake.
"Jungkook... Get some rest. This isn't good for you! Those goggles can seriously mess up your eyesight. Hours and hours putting that piece back together isn't healthy! Look at you, you're extremely pale. Tomorrow you are taking a break!" Hoseok demanded. Only trying to help Jungkook before he dies out from working on the saphire for so long.
Jungkook took off the headset from his eyes and let out a sigh. "C-Can't... I need to fix it... If I don't, my heart will still be shattered I need to put back the final pieces!" Jungkook added, about to put the goggles back on when Hoseok finally pulled them away fron his hands. Making Jungkook realize the time he spent on the precious necklace. "How long... Have I been doing this? How long has my Mother worried about my health?"
"You've been doing this for four to five days already... If I don't come in and tell you to come out and eat or exercise, you'd be weak and close to dying! Your eyes must ache!" Hoseok added handing Jungkook his glass of milk.
"This is all for Jimin... I need to give it back in perfect condition..." Jungkook added, drinking out of the cup of milk Hoseok brought him. "Give me the goggles... I just need to add in a few more pieces..." Jungkook added. The tone of his voice was blank and dead. The only thing keeping him awake was the thought of putting the pieces back together.
Once he can finish, he'll be able to breathe again. After all the stress he's had building up on him from only focusing on the necklace and the constant replay of him shattering it before Jimin's tearful eyes. That was the toughest thing he could ever do to someone he loves.
Even if he believed Jimin deserved it for taking Mr. Jeon's life, Jungkook needed to realize that Jimin was forced to do it. For the sake of saving the whole family, there was no other safe way to save the Father or cheat his death. That was something Jungkook had to think on and realize now. Jimin was innocent all along.
