Chapter 26: A true friend
Jungkook wanted to shout at how oddly weird that felt. He knew Jimin would never want to do that again, but the younger found it seducing. Yet it wasn't enough to make him hard from the feeling.
"This boy... H-He's insane.. He's making me feel something I can't have! Such a tease." Jungkook told himself in his head while he caught a glimpse of Jimin suddenly opening his eyes to let out a deep huff of breath. The older man suddenly began to throw up as Jungkook flinched and gazed at Jimin in worry. "Jimin!" Jungkook suddenly stood up as Jimin let out a deep exhale and lifted his hand to make Jungkook stop.
"L-Leave me..."
"No.." Jungkook responded as Jimin layed on the bed, panting silently.
"Stubborn... You're stubborn aren't you..? Idiot..." Jimin scolded the younger but Jungkook just couldn't sit there and watch Jimin get sick. It was now that all that drinking finally caught up with Jimin. Jungkook hurried out of the room to bring in things to clean the vomit up and of course be there to help Jimin in his time of need. Even if Jimin hated having Jungkook help when he specifically told him not to.
Jungkook hurried back with cleaning supplies to scrub the floor, mop up the small amount of puke and help Jimin. Jimin was laying on the bed, breathing heavily as he let out a sharp breath, gazing up at the ceiling. "Leave me here.." Jimin continued but Jungkook quickly cleaned up and hurried out of the room to help Jimin no matter what. "That idiot..." Jimin whispered, closing his eyes and fanning himself as he let out another sigh.
Jungkook dashed to the kitchen and started to boil water in medium temperature and bring out a small towel to dip into the boiling water. Making sure it wasn't too hot. "He drinks too much hangover tea.. It's bad for him." Jungkook said as he took out a pack of seaweed from the fridge and set them onto the kitchen sink to wash. "I'll make him chicken soup.. It'll take a while but I'll atleast try to be quick." Jungkook thought, taking out seasoning, vegetables, raw chicken to cook into the stew and rice too.
As soon as the towel was warmed up, Jungkook poured the slightly heated water onto a big bowl, placing in the towel and walking back to Jimin's room. Jungkook was panicking. He didn't know what to do and feared Jimin might get intoxicated from all this drinking. Jungkook has never seen anyone drink so much like Jimin. His father was close to it, but Jimin was in fact worst than any alcoholics in the club.
"You're still here..?" Jimin managed to say as Jungkook set the bowl of hot water on the side of the cabinet. "Go away... Let me die here..."
"That's the last thing I want... I'm helping you either way!" Jungkook replied, squeezing the water out of the mini towel until he folded it and placed it over Jimin's forehead. "I'm making you soup..."
"J-Just tea is fine."
"No, you drink that all the time! Not only hangover tea will save you. You have to eat homemade meals, you have to drink water an-"
"Who do I have here to watch over me everyday..? I have no one..." Jimin replied closing his eyes and laying back on the bed with the covers over his chest and the mini drenched towel over his forehead.
"You have me..." Jungkook whispered, gazing down at the sick man.
"Even someone as perfect as you would leave a cracked mirror like me. You have college, a Mother... A friend... I have nothing but just a nasty habit of drinking!" Jimin cried, cupping his face while tears slid down his face. "Don't you dare look at me when I cry." Jimin said, turning away. "Go do something and leave me alone to rot. I deserve death..."
"Jimin... I don't know what you've been through... But I am here for you! I am willing to give up college and switch to online college just to help you Jimin... I'll do it! I really will!" Jungkook assured as Jimin went under the covers and smiled to himself.
"Y-You will? Just for me?" Jimin whispered as Jungkook nodded with a smile.
"It's what friends do. Anyways, please stay put.. I'll make you some soup." Jungkook added, feeling joy that he was able to help Jimin out and being yelled at to leave. Jungkook can already feel their bond getting stronger. Under the covers, Jimin made a smile after hearing what Jungkook just agreed to.
The man was feeling sick and was really crying over the fact that he was lonely and there was no other way to escape that dark, lonely and depreasing abyss... But hearing Jungkook was willing to sacrifice public college for a friend, made Jimin suddenly start to smile so quickly after shedding non-stop tears.
"I never knew how much I wanted him to stay..." Jimin whispered, drying his tears and pulling the blanket off and fixing the mini towel on his forehead to aid the waves of pain that filled his weary head.
Jungkook was in the kitchen, wearing a white apron as he was cooking the chicken stew for Jimin. He really hated that Jimin was drinking alot and knew this would eventually happen. Just how long has Jimin been drinking like this? Jungkook took out a glass of water and squeezed a bright yellow lemon on it to help Jimin and also grabbed an apple from the fridge so Jimin can have atleast something in his stomach before he throws up again.
Jungkook dashed to the room again and was glad Jimin stopped telling him to leave. It made him feel apreciated. Jungkook handed Jimin the lemon water and the apple as he took the mini towel, dipped it into the bowl of water to squeeze it once more and fold it to place it back on Jimin's head. Jungkook was focused on getting back to the kitchen as Jimin kept staring at the younger do so much for him! It made him smile to himself.
"Stop smiling like that... You look dead, Park Jimin." Jungkook chuckled to lighten up the mood.
"Shut... It.." Jimin whispered to the younger while turned to face Jimin. "Thank you... For this, Jungkook. You really are a true friend to me.. Haven't had those in a long time." Jimin replied, watching Jungkook look down an blush cutely again and again. "If only... My need for alcohol went down. I could probably give you more free time."
"Having bad habits are okay... I would hate to see you continue after this. But, I know that's how powerful needs are. Same thing with me and gambling. Haven't done that in so long, even if it was a day. It feels like eternity but I'll still take it slow. No matter how badly I want to go." Jungkook responded, seeing the gleam in Jimin's eyes everytime they caught eachother in a glance. "Let's make a deal!" Jungkook shouted, making Jimin tilt his head.
"Depends on what it is." said Jimin, noticing the gleam in Jungkook's eyes too that will only appear at every glance they take on eachother.
"Let's make a deal... Rather a promise. Jimin, promise me you won't drink again... And I won't try to go out gambling or try to get there and make some bet that I might lose to." Jungook suggested as Jimin stayed gazing at Jungkook.
The idea alone wasn't bad and he too love the suggestion, however... Jimin's body just couldn't stop. His drinking habit was like a bike with no brakes. There was no end to it all but Jimin started to feel happy, just like Jungkook. He made a smile and nodded towards the younger. Knowing that now might be the start of something new with between their own friendship. Hopefully, growing into something much more greater than 'just friends'.
