(Ash POV)

It's finally the day I have my rematch against Korrina. I have been training with Lucas for 4 days now and I'm going to win this time.

I'm standing on one side of the battle field while Korrina is on the other side and Gurkinn in the middle being the referee. Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, Aubrey, and Lucas are up in the stands to watch my battle.

"Do you really think Ash can win this time?" Bonnie asked.

"I know Ash and he always finds a way to surprise me" Clemont said. "I think he will be fine."

"Do you think he can win Lucas?" Aubrey asked.

"I been training a lot with him." Lucas said. "I think it's going to be an interesting battle."

"What do you mean by that?" Serena asked.

"You'll see."

"Alright the rematch between Ash the challenger and Korrina the gym leader is about to begin" Gurkinn said. "Each trainer will use three Pokémon in this battle. When three pokemon from one side is unable to battle the other side will be declared the winner. In addition, only the challenger will be allowed to substitute Pokémon. Is that under stood?"

"Yes" Korrina said. I just nodded having a determined look on my face.

"Ok battle begin."

"Ok Mienfoo time to battle" Korrina said as she released her Pokémon. From the Pokéball stood a medium size yellow and red fighting Pokémon.

"A Mienfoo huh?" I than got out his Pokédex.

Mienfoo, the Martial Arts Pokémon. Mienfoo's battle moves become quicker and more precised with increased concentration.

"Ok Hawlucha lets do this." I said as I released his Hawlucha from its Pokéball. "You ready for our first battle togeather."

"HAWWW" he yelled flexing his muscles.

"Ok Hawlucha use Karate Chop" Hawlucha than sprinted over towards Mienfoo with his arm ready to strike.

"Counter with Swift" she yelled. Mienfoo then shot a barrage of stars from its paw and shot them towards Hawlucha.

"Darn, I know I can't dodge them so in that case..............." "Keep going with Karate Chop towards the Swift."

Hawlucha continued rushing towards the swift as Korrina gave a confused look.

"What is he doing?" Korrina asked.

Hawlucha finally made contact with the swift but he didn't take any damage. Instead he used Karate Chop to deflect each individual piece of the swift and continued his way towards Meinfoo.

"Meinfoo move out of the way" Korrina yelled. Meinfoo jump up and over Hawlucha before he could make contact.

"Go straight up" I yelled. Hawlucha looked up then jumped right above himself and hit Meifoo right in the face as he was going over.

"Meinfoo!" Korrina yelled. Meinfoo fell to the ground but quickly jumped up to his feet to show he can still battle. "Good, regain some health with Drain Punch."

"Dodge it!" Hawlucha jumped to his left and narrowly escaped the drain punch. "Good now use High Jump Kick."

"Counter with your own High Jump Kick." Korrina yelled. Both Pokémon jumped up into the air and was about to make contact with their own high jump kick.

I smiled "Got ya."

"Hawlucha cancel the attack and drop down" I yelled.

"Huh?..... What is he going" Bonnie asked.

Lucas smiled. "Something clever."

Hawlucha stopped his own attack and reangeled himself to drop straight down right as Meinfoo saw about to hit. However, Meinfoo ended up going over Hawlucha as he dropped how and continued going without a target to hit.

"Oh no Meinfoo" Korrina yelled. It was too late for Meinfoo to stop his attack and went straight towards the ground. He ended up crashing and took some damage in the process.

"What happened?" Bonnie asked.

"If a Pokémon miss with a High Jump Kick it ends up damaging the user" Aubrey explained.

"So that what Ash was plaining on making Hawlucha stop. So make Meinfoo miss and to get Meinfoo take some damage in the prosses." Clemont said. "That's brilliant."

"What did I tell you?" Lucas said. "He was doing something clever."

"Meinfoo can you still battle?" Korrina asked.

Despitethe pain, Meinfoo got to his feet. "Foo" he nodded.

"Alright Hawlucha use X-Scissor."

Hawlucha crossed his arms and rushed towards Meinfoo with his attack.

"Get ready to counter" Korrina yelled. Meinfoo got in a battle position waiting for Hawlucha to make contact.

"I hope this works"

Hawlucha is getting closer and closer to Meinfoo and just before Hawlucha was going to hit, I preformed the rouse.

"Hit the ground" I yelled.

"Huh?" everyone else said.

"What is he doing?" Serena asked. Hawlucha angled himself down and made contact with the ground with his attack. In the process he lifted the dust on the ground and covered the area he was in.

"Looked like he slipped up, Meinfoo use Force Palm" Korrina said. Meinfoo rushed towards the dusty area fired his attack. When he did the force from the attack blew away the dust away and revealed that nothing was there.

"Huh?" Korrina said. "Where is he?"

"Flying Press" I yelled. Everyone looked up and saw that Hawlucha was air born this whole time and was coming straight down on Meinfoo.

Meinfoo could not react in time since he got some dust in his eyes when he cleared the dust so he could not dodge the attack. Hawlucha made contact with Meinfoo with his attack and hurled him to the ground and cause a dust cloud to form again.

"Meinfoo!!!" Korrina said. When the dust cleared it showed an unconscious Meinfoo with Hawlucha standing on top of him doing a victory pose.

"Meinfoo is unable to battle. The winner is Hawlucha" Gurkinn said.

"Alright great job Hawlucha" I said.

"Haw!" he said doing another victory pose.

"Wow, that was........ different " Aubrey said. "Ash has a very interesting battling style."

"That's Ash for you. You never know what he's going to do next." Serena said.

Korrina returned her Meinfoo and got out another Pokéball. "That was an impressive win Ash but my next pokemon is not going to be that easy to beat. Go Machoke."

She then released her next Pokémon and a giant Machoke was revealed showing off his muscles.

"Machoke huh?" I than got out my Pokédex.

Machoke, the Superpower Pokémon. With enough strength to lift a giant truck with one hand, Machoke are often used to extremely heavy work.

Machoke was flexing his muscles trying to size up Hawlucha. I can tell Hawlucha was a bit tired from his last battle so I decided to give him a break.

"Hawlucha return" I said returning him. "Take a breather. You earned it."

"Ok Fletchinder your turn" I then released Fletchinder as he flew around the battle field as soon as he got released.

"Ready Ash?" Korrina asked.

"You bet. Alright Fletchinder start off with Razor Wind" Fletchinder started to flaw its wings as fast as he could and blew a strong gust of wind with sharp bits in it towards Machoke.

"Machoke block the attack and then use Focus Blast" Korrina said. Machoke crossed his arms in front of him to braced himself from the attack. Although it did some damage, it was kelp a minimum. Machoke then formed a ball of energy in his hands and fired it towards Fletchinder.

"Dodge with Double Team then use Steel Wing"

Fletchinder made multiple copies if himself to avoid the focus blast as Machoke's attack hit one of the copies. All of the copies then flew towards Machoke as their wings glowed a bright steel color.

"Intercept with Brick Break" Korrina said. Machoke got is right arm ready and slashed the incoming copies with brick break. He kelp doing it until all the copies where gone and only the original remains.

Now both Pokémon are at a stale mate as Fletchinder is trying to push back Machoke with its steel wing.

"Push him down then use Low Sweep." Korrina yelled. Machoke used all his might to push Fletchinder down and knocked him to the ground. He then kick Fletchinder with the side of his foot to the side battle field.

"Fletchinder!" I yelled.

"Use Brick Break again" Korrina said. Machoke then rushed towards Fletchinder as he was still down.

"Fletchinder get out of the way!"

Fletchinder slowly got up and moved to the left narrowly avoiding the attack. He then flew up and back round so counter attack.

"Shoot him down with Focus Blast" Korrina said. Machoke formed another sphere of energy in his hands and then shot it towards Fletchinder.

"Not this time, hit it back with Steel Wing"

Fletchinder's wings glowed a bright steel color and knocked the focus blast away from him.

"Now use Peck" Fletchinder then flew down with his beak glowing white towards Machoke.

"Counter with Brick Break" Korrina yelled. Machoke got his arm ready and was about to intercepted Fletchinder's peck.

"I got you now" "Double Team" I yelled.

Machoke continued his attack but not before Fletchinder use double team. Machoke ended up chopping through what he thought was Fletchinder but was actually a copy.

"What?" Korrina said.

"Circle back around" I yelled. The real Fletchinder quickly circled around and pecked Machoke hard in the back.

"CHOKE" he yelled in pain as he fell to the ground.

"Keep up the pressure, Razer Wind!" Fletchinder flapped his wings again and made bits of the wind razor sharp and shot them Machoke and caused an explosion. When the dust cleared it showed Machoke on his back with swirly eyes.

"Machoke is unable to battle, the winner is Fletchinder" Gurkinn said.

"Alright Ash way to go" Bonnie said.

"Two down one to go" Aubrey said.

"I just can't wait for Ash to bring out his Charizard" Lucas said.

"What makes you think he will bring out Charizard?" Aubrey said.

Lucas smiled. "Trust me, he will."

Korrina then returned Machoke and gave me a serious look. "You may have beaten my first two Pokémon" she than got out her third Pokéball. "But you won't beat this one, GO LUCARIO!"

She then released her final Pokémon. Soon after a Lucario emerged from the Pokéball and got into his battle stance while giving out a battle cry.

"I thought you would use him."

"This is my final Pokémon, and I'm starting out strong" Korrina said. She then rose her arm in front of her and showed the key stone on her glove. "Lucario it's time for your true power MEGA EVOLVE."

She then toughed her key stone started to glow and gave off a blinding light. Soon the light from her stone connected with the mega stone on Lucario as he was engulfed in the light. Soon after the light disappeared and revealed Lucario in his mega form.

"Oh no, not again" Serena said. "Ash is going to have trouble with Lucario again."

"I hope Ash can think of something" Clemont said.

"I wouldn't worry too much for Ash" Lucas said confedently.

"How come?" Serena asked.

"You'll see."

"Ok Fletchinder can you still battle?" I asked. Fletchinder nodded his head showing he can still fight. "Ok use Razor Wind"

Fletchinder flapped his wings as he started to blow the wind at Lucario.

"No you don't, use Medal Sound" she said. Lucario rubbed both his paws together and fired a high pitch sound wave towards Fletchinder as he stopped dead in his tracks.

"Fletchinder!!!"

"Aura Sphere" she said. Lucario shoot a ball of aura from his paws like a bullet and hit Fletchinder with much force and created an explosion. Fletchinder was then seen falling towards the ground and crashed showing swirly eyes.

"Fletchinder is unable to battle, the winner is Lucario" Gurkinn said.

"Woe..... it just took one hit" Bonnie said shocked.

"That's the power from a mega evolved." Aubrey said.

"Fletchinder returned" I said returning him. "You did well, take a break."

I then pulled out Hawlucha's Pokéball. "Ok Hawlucha lets go." Hawlucha emerged from his Pokéball and gave a battle pose. "This will be a tough battle Hawlucha stay focus."

"Cha" he said nodding.

"Ok use High Jump Kick" Hawlucha jumped into the air and aimed himself towards Lucario.

"Medal sound again" she said. Lucario rubbed his paws together again and released another sound wave towards Hawlucha. The sound wave made Hawlucha lose his focus and missed Lucario by a couple feet. Because Hawlucha missed with high jump kick he took some damage as he cried out with pain.

"Power Up Punch" she said. Lucario powered up his fist and then rushed towards Hawlucha as he was still down.

"Counter with Karate Chop!" Although Hawlucha was still in pain from his last attack he still was able to get his arm up just in time and chopped towards Lucario colliding with his power up punch

"Push him back" Korrina said. With Lucario's enhanced strength he easily pushed through Hawlucha's karate chop and continued towards Hawlucha's face. It made contact and it knocked Hawlucha up and back into the air.

"HAWLUCHA!" I yelled.

"Hawwww........" he yelled in pain.

"Finished him with Aura Sphere" Korrina said. Lucario charged a sphere of aura in his paws and quickly shot it towards Hawlucha.

"Dodge it!" But since Hawlucha was still a bit dizzy from the power up punch he didn't react in time and the aura sphere hit its mark.

"Hawlucha!!!" after a couple of seconds from the attack. Hawlucha finally fell over on his back with swirly eyes.

"Hawlucha is unable to battle, the winner is Lucario" Gurkinn said.

"How powerful can that Lucario be? Hawlucha couldn't even land one hit." Clemont said.

"Brother?........ Can Ash still win?" Bonnie asked a bit scared.

"I know he can" Serena immediately said. "He can make any turn around if he wants to."

"I hate to say it but I don't see how Ash could win, even if he use his Charizard" Aubrey said. "What do you think Lucas?"

Lucas didn't say anything for a bit, instead he was just.............just............ staring at me. It was like he was waiting for something.

"Lucas?" Aubrey said. Lucas suddenly snapped back from what she said and looked at her.

"Sorry, I was just.............. Waiting for Ash to use his secret weapon" He said.

"Secret weapon? What do you mean?"

"Just wait"

I returned Hawlucha to his Pokéball and then took out my last one. I stared at it for a minute until I finally looked up.

"This is it" I said to myself. "Things will be different this time. Go Charizard!!!"

I threw the Pokéball in front of me, releasing what I would say one of my most powerful Pokémon.

"Gruuuuuuu!!!!!" I roared as he shot out a jet stream of fire into the air.

"Charizard again uh...." Korrina said. "I had a feeling use would use him. Too bad for him that he won't do much against my Lucario."

I then reached into my pocket and was reaching for a small object. While I was doing Korrina noticed something around my Charizards neck. "Wait....... Is that............."

"NOW THE REAL BATTLE BEGINS" I said taking out the object and showed it to everyone. When I did everyone excepted Lucas's jaw just dropped.

"WHAT!!!" Korrina exclaimed. "How did you.........."

"I hope this works"

"Charizard its time to show them just how strong you are. MEGA EVOLVE." I said toughing the object (Key stone if you didn't figure it out already) as it started to glow and gave off a blinding light just like Korrina's did. It connected with the stone around Charizards neck as he was engulfed in the light. When the light faded it revealed Charizard as he gave another powerful roar, but this time in his new form.

He's wings were bigger than before although it was the same color. He now has three horned on his head instead of the original two. His wings look a bit prehistoric like an Aerodactyl. And his claws and teeth look bigger than before. And not only that but.............. is it just me or did the light in the room looks brighter than before?......... Huh....... It's probably just me.

"Is that........ but that's ....... A..... ahhh.....aaaaaa" Clemont stampered.

"Mega Charizard" Lucas confirmed smiling. "It's about time."

"Wait...... you mean you were the one who........" Aubrey started.

"I just wanted to make this battle even. So I just let him borrow my key stone since he already had the mega stone" he said. "Now let's how he performs with it."

Korrina looked at me and gave me what looks like an exited look. "Now this is what I'm talking about" she said. "A battle between tow mega evolved Pokémon. But don't think you can still win, my Lucario will take down any Pokémon he battles with."

"Well then......." I said confidently. "Thebn let's put that theory to the test. Ready Charizard?"

"GRUEEEE!!!!" he roared.

"You asked for it, Lucario use Bone Rush" she said. Lucario made two bone clubs in his paws and sprinted toward Charizad with is incredible speed.

"Let's see your new power in action, Dragon Tail" I yelled. Charizard than flew over to Lucario with just as fast speed as Lucario's and slammed his blue glowing tail right in from of Lucario's bone rush causing both attacts to cancel out.

"Flamethrower!"

Since Charizard was right in from of Lucario from his previous attack, he unleashed an even bigger jet stream of fire than normal right in Lucario's face and forced him to the ground.

"Lucario!!!!" Korrina yelled. Lucario struggled to get back up but was able to continue.

"Yes......... Ash finally landed a hit on Lucario" Serena said.

"Don't celebrate yet, it's far from over" Aubrey said.

"Lucky hit. Ok Lucario use Medal Sound" Lucario rubbed his paws together once again and released more high pitch sound waves towards Charizard.

"Not this time, into the air like we practiced." I said. Charizard flew straight up from where he was and kelp a good distance away from Lucario and covering his ears so he wouldn't get affected as much.

"Use Dragon Breath" Charizard charged up some of his dragon energy and then shot it through the medal sound and straight at Lucario.

"Block it" Korrina said. Lucario brought up both paws and used his aura energy to resisted the attack. After Charizard was finished Lucario lowered his arms and show that the attack had little effect on him.

"Looks like you forgot that dragon type attacks are not very effect against steel types like Lucario" Korrina said. "Now use Aura Sphere"

Lucario charged the aura in his body into his paws and shot it towards Charizard.

"Intercept with Wing attack" Charizard flew straight towards the aura sphere with his wings glowing white and slash the ball of aura with his wings. Since his attack was a flying type attack against a fighting type attack his wing attack slash through the aura sphere with ease. Since he went towards the aura sphere he was now only a foot off the ground and a couple of yards away from Lucario,

"Quick use Power Up Punch while he's close" Korrina said. Lucario charged up his paw and started to sprint towards Charizard. But midway through Lucario all of a sudden felt a stinging pain in his legs and fell over midway through the attack.

"Huh? Lucario whats wrong?" Korrina asked. Korrina then noticed that there was some static coming off Lucario as he struggled to get back up. "What....... What happened"

"Looks like you forgot that Dragon Breath has a secondary effect that may leave your Pokémon paralyzed if it hits" I said confidently.

"Woe........... Ash knew this the whole time, that's amazing" Serena said in awe.

"Yeah.............." I sweat dropped. "Actually Lucas told me that during training yesterday but............. She doesn't need to know that." I then looked up at Lucas to see that he was giving me one of those 'really?' looks. "Did he just roll his eyes at me?"

"Fight through it Lucario, try Power Up Punch again" Korrina said. Despite Lucario being paralyzed Lucario got up and he still was moving very fast towards Charizard not as fast as before but still fast enough to do some damage.

"Use Slash" I said. Charizard flew over with his claw out and was about to slash at Lucario. Both Lucario and Charizard went at each other and collided with their respective attacks and caused a little explosion. The force from the two attacks knock both Pokémon back and down about 10 yards from each other. Lucario just did a back flip and landed on his feet while Charizard was knocked on his back but was quickly getting back on his feet.

"Use Bone Rush with all of your mite" Korrina said. Lucariro was at this point very existed but still had enough energy to make his bone clubs and rushed towards Charizard.

"I got you know"

"Catch him" I yelled. "Charizard quickly brought up his claws and caught both of Lucario's paws each in one claw and stared at him intensely.

"What!" Korrina exclaimed. "How?"

"Remember, that Lucario got slowed down by be paralyzed. Now finish him off with Seismic Toss"

Charizard then took into the air with Lucario still in his arms as Lucario struggled trying to break free. Charizard did three loops in the air and then dived straight down towards the ground. At the last possible second he let go of Lucario and reangled his wings to avoid crashing into the ground. Lucario crashed with unbelievable force that the whole battle field shook.

"Lucario!!!" Korrina yelled.

Everyone on the field and even in the stands got shaken a bit from the impact Lucario took and was holding on to whatever was near them to avoid falling over. When the dust cleared it revealed a giant crater in the middle of the battle field with Lucario lying on his back. He then reverted back to his original form showing swirly eyes.

"Lucario is unable to battle, the winner is Charizard so the match goes to Ash" Gurkinn said.

"Yes!!! We won!" I cheered.

"He did it, he beat Korrina's Lucario" Bonnie said.

"Amazing Ash, just amazing" Serena said.

"Great Job Charizard" Charizard turned and faced me giving me a smile before I got a flamethrower to the face. *Cough* "Wow..... that is some flamethrower."

Charizard than revered back to his original form and then I returned him. Korrina did the same with Lucario and thanked it for all of his hard work. She then walked up to me and gave me a smile.

"Well Ash that would have to be one of the best battles I ever had with Lucario" Korrina said. She than reached into the pocked on her skirt and pulled out a small object. "As proof that you have beaten me here at the Shalour City Gym I present to you the Rumble Badge."

She held it out for me to take so I reached for it and took it out of her hand. I than just stared at it for nearly a minute before I said anything else.

"WE did it, I got............. The Rumble Badge."

(Normal POV)

Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie where now back at the Pokémon center to get their Pokémon checked on before they leave next morning. All four of them where sitting at a table and Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie kelp asking Ash about how he came up with is strategies, what was it like battling a mega evolved Pokémon, but most of all..............

"Since when could you mega evolved your pokemon?" Clemont asked.

"I guess that would have to be yesterday" Ash answered. "Do you remember the gift I got from Aubrey back in Geosenge Town?"

"Yeah."

"Well it turns out it was a mega stone she got from Kal back when she helped Korrina get her mega stone. Kal apparently wanted to thank me for helping him back in the gave so he got a mega stone to give to Aubrey to give to me." Ash said.

"But how did you get a key stone?" Serena asked.

"Well....... Apparently Lucas knew I got a mega stone from Aubrey so he let me borrow his key stone for when I face Korrina."

"Borrow?"

"Yeah, Lucas said he needed the stone back after a beat Korrina since it was his only one. Plus he said a key stone is something a trainer needs to find on his own when he or she on a journey and not just given one."

"Why is that?" Bonnie said.

"He didn't say, just only I needed to find my own." Ash said. "Lucas should be by soon to pick it up any minute now."

Not a moment later Lucas walked into the lobby of the Pokémon center and spotted the group sitting at a table. He walked up to them and gave them a smile.

"Hey guys I just came because I didn't get the chance you congratulate Ash on his win." Lucas said.

"Thanks Lucas but I do owe my victory over Korrina to you" Ash said. "Which reminds me." Ash then reached into his pocket and pulled out the key stone he got from him and handed to him.

"Thanks Ash" he said taking it back. "But don't worry, you will be able to find your own key stone on your journey."

"Were did you find yours?" Clemont asked.

"I can't tell you that, besides it's different for every person so I can't really say" He answered. "Anyways I also came by to let you know that I 'm going to be on my way."

"You're leaving already?" Ash asked.

"Yeah I can't stay in one place for a long time. Besides I got some............ things to take care of."

"What kind of things?" Serena asked.

"I can't say. Just know it's important and I need to get on it."

"Ok Lucas I understand. Good luck with your...........wait, I just remember something" Ash said. "We met your sister."

Lucas gave a somewhat a freaked out look when he heard Ash said that. "My....... M-my sister?"

"You know.....The famous Actress and Champion on Kalos Diantha." Bonnie said.

Lucas just stood there not saying anything for nearly a minute look down at his feet. He really didn't want to talk about his sister.

"Lucas?" Ash said. "Is something wrong?"

"I don't want to talk about" he finally said sounding a bit grouchy.

"Ok?......... well...... she told us the next time we run into you to tell you that she really miss you and that you should visit her" Clemont said.

Lucas didn't say anything. Instead he just turned around having his back facing the group and started to walk off.

"Wait...... where are you going?" Ash said.

"I have to go" he said not even facing them.

"But what about your sister?" Serena asked. "Aren't you going to.........."

"LOOK......... The next time you run into her tell her I am very busy and I'm not ready to see her yet. OK!!!" he yelled walking out of the Pokémon center. The rest of the group just stood here dumbfounded from how Lucas acted.

"What was that all about?" Bonnie said.

"I....... don't know" Ash said. "That is the first time I ever seen him like that."

It was night time in Shalour City and everyone in the Pokemon Center and all of the residence of the city where fast asleep.

Well.............. all but one.

On the top of the Tower of Mastery sat Lucas with his Gallade on one side and his Smeargle on his other side. He and his Pokémon looked out over the shore from the top with a locked in his hand that he usually keeps in his bag. He was staring at it trying to clear his head. He then opens the locked and stared at a picture in it. The picture was of Diantha on the day she was crowed the champion of Kalos with him standing next to her.

"I know I'm ready" he said to himself. "But I don't know I'm ready to see her yet."

Lucas then stood up as if he felt as if he was being watch by someone, other than is Pokémon.

And he was right. "Aubrey I know you're here. Just come out of the shadows already."

As if it was on cue Aubrey stepped forwards out of the shadows and stood into the light with Flaabby by her side. "How did you know?" she asked.

"You do realized that I was one of the people that taught you your skill right?" he said.

"Right.........." she sweat dropped. "I just wanted to talk to you about something."

"Go on."

"First of all, it's about you yelling at Ash and his friends about your sister. They didn't know what happened so they didn't deserve that." Aubrey said.

"I know...... I just didn't want to explain it to them. It's very personal and I don't want to go through the emotions of telling them what happened" Lucas said.

"I know what happened was hard but you didn't have to take it out on them. Just keep that in mind" she said.

"I will"

"Secondly, I ran into that trainer with the blue scarf again" she said. That got the Lucas's attention even more that before.

"The one with the Charizard?" he asked.

"Yes, and he is looking for you for a rematch."

"I already beat him once, why do I have to battle him again? Can't he just let it go?" Lucas said.
