It was a beautiful and sunny morning in a small town with dark, lush green grass with reddish dirt and a house. The Sperow and Fearrow we're soaring around the sky past the houses. Everything was a typical day in Redgold Town, but that was about to change for sixteen-year-old Sterling. Today was the day he would be getting his starter Pokemon for his very first Pokemon journey.

Sterling was sleeping peacefully in his bed under a fluffy black blanket. His head was resting on top of a Pikachu-shaped pillow.

"Sterling, time to get up!" A feminine voice shouted.

Sterling let out a soft groan as he heard a feminine voice call out to him to get up from his chamber of sleep. As he continued to sleep, the door creaked open as a small figure entered the room.

The figure was a small fair, skinned nine-year-old boy with light brown hair with a side bag touching his face. He was wearing a grey pajama with an Eevee on it and black pajama shorts.

The young boy was none other than Dustin. His little brother. Dustin chuckled as he climbed onto the bed and tickled his brother's foot.

Sterling groaned, kicking away the hand, trying to wake him up, tickling his foot. However, Dustin laughed and stood up on the bed, jumping onto Sterling's stomach, causing him to sit up with a groan of pain. He sent a glare of annoyance at his little brother, who was smiling.

"I'm awake. Now get off the bed," Sterling said simply as he pushed his little brother off of his stomach.

Dustin laughed as he climbed off the bed laughing. Sterling shook his head at his little brother's behavior giving him such a rude awakening.

"Sterling! Come downstairs for breakfast. Your breakfast will get cold, and you want to eat breakfast before you set out to get your starter Pokemon!" His mom called out.

Sterling looked at the calendar on his wall. He then realizes that his mom is right. Today was the day after his birthday party when his best friend and uncle Birch came to see him. He climbed out of bed and called back to his mom."I'm coming, Mother!"He called back as he walked over towards the door with Damon following him.

'I can't believe that big brother almost forgot what today was. Sleeping in like it was a special and momentous occasion today.' Dustin thought as he followed his big brother out of the bedroom.

Sterling had entered the kitchen and hugged his mother's good morning greeting as his little brother sat at the table.

"Morning to you as well, little bro," He greeted and ruffled his hair.

"Hey, stop that," Dustin complained about the ruffling."I thought you would never wake up for a moment."

"Yeah, so you gave me a rude awakening? So disrespect it call shake me away instead of jumping on me awake," Sterling commented in an emotionless voice."Where, father?" He asked, not seeing his father yet.

"He went out in the woods to treat a Pokemon. Some wild Leafeon was outside panicking, so he went to check it," Luna explained as she placed a large plate of pancakes, omelets, and another dish with bacon on the table.

Sterling and Dustin's father was and Pokemon doctor and took house calls as well as help treat wild Pokemon when sick or injured.

"Okay," Sterling said in understanding, a little upset that his father would be here seeing him off but didn't show it much.

"Hey, don't be upset. I'm sure he will be back before you leave," Luna said."And before you say you're not upset. I know you enough, son, to know you just hide your emotions and see through you. Now eat up if you want to be on time to see Professor Pine at her lab. You don't want Timothy and Benson to get the first pick of starters after all."

"Of course, I don't. I not letting them take my pup," Sterling said before eating his breakfast, already knowing which starter he was going with.

"Hey, big bro, guess what," Dustin said with a giant smile on his face.

"What is it, little bro?" Sterling asked.

"Mom and Dad told me I could accompany you on your journey," He replied.

"They did?" Sterling questioned, looking over at his mom sitting at the table across from him.

"I agree only if Sterling doesn't mind you are tagging along with him," Luna replied.

"Well..." Sterling trailed off, looking at his brother sitting to his left.

"Come on, please, big brother. I promise to stay out of trouble and do everything you tell me to," Dustin said.

"Well, alright, you can come," Sterling agreed.

Dustin cheered happily about being able to go with Sterling on his Pokemon journey. Sterling just shook his head as he continued to eat his breakfast.

"Alright, I'm going to get a shower and change out of these pajamas," Sterling said a good twenty minutes later as he ate the last of his bacon and stood up from the chair.

"I put the new outfit brought for your birthday hanging up in the closet," Luna said, picking up her son's dirty plate and walking over to the sink.

"Okay, Mom. I will be down and ready to head off to Professor Pine's lab to get my starter Pokemon," Sterling said as he exited the kitchen and headed off to his bedroom to get ready to leave.

After a ten-minute shower and another six to get dressed and bearish his teeth and hair. Sterling headed downstairs. He is wearing a black letter jacket over a white shirt. He also had on grey pants and black and white sneakers.

"The outfit looks nice on you, and it suits you well with your long black hair, my handsome young man," Luna said, smiling at her oldest son, who was all dressed for his Pokemon journey.

"Thanks, Mom. I'm all good to go to get my starter Pokemon," Sterling said.

"Alright, you get going. Your father should be back by the time you get back, and your little brother's bag will be fully packed, and he is dressed and ready to leave," Luna said and glanced at Girafarig, who was drinking from a white bowl on the floor.

"Okay, see you when I get back, and don't make me regret this, Dustin!"

"I promise, big brother, and I can't wait to meet your new Pokemon, big brother!"

"You meet them as soon as I get back, and I'm holding you to that promise," Sterling said, leaving the kitchen as he set off to get his starter Pokemon.

Hey everyone, I hope you enjoyed the first chapter/ Episode 0 of The Drama of a Pokemon Journey. In this chapter, Sterling is off to get his starter Pokemon from Professor Pine's lab, along with Timothy and Benson. I was going to make the other boy Owen but decided to make all three of them Oc new trainers, and Chris Mclean would be the Professor, but I decided he needed a different role in the story. I changed his little brother's name because, in Pokemon Destiny Quest, my character rival is Damon, and I figure it is best not to use the name again for another Oc.
