"Back during the end of Ransei's last Great War many ships from other regions were hired to bring food and supplies to every kingdom" Professor Oak spoke as the class walked into the city. They were discussing a yet to be touched on Pokémon today. "From these ships Rattata of all kinds ended up infesting the island. So what do you think the islanders did?" A strangely marked Hoothoot on top of a nearby building cried out as it cuddled a normal Hoothoot.

"Stop importing items?" Selene asked from her spot between (y/n) and blue.

"No, that would still leave the problem of the Rattata which were already on the island" Oak spoke as they turned the corner and he smiled as he spotted a Pokémon. "They imported Meowth of all variety's" he spoke as he motioned to the Meowth ahead. "These are todays subject"

"I want one" (y/n) whispered as Blue offered him a small smile. The boy had only started training Pokémon but Blue loved that he already wanted more. "Ooh I want that one more" he smiled as he spotted another.

"Yes the Alolan Meowth are quite popular because of their coloring" Professor Oak spoke after hearing (y/n)'s remark. "I myself prefer them because they're hypoallergenic"

"Why are there so many?" The professor turned as he heard a boys question.

Selene turned and frowned as she noticed it was her brother who had spoken. "You spaced out?" He nodded. "They imported Meowth, those Meowth bred and had more Meowth, this went on for generations until finally now when the city is crawling with them"

"Exactly Selene, however not just this city" Oak spoke as he crouched down and pet a galarian meowth at his feet. "Just about every city in Ransei has a large cat population, mostly Meowth such as here" he stood back up.

"Oy! 'aven' seen one o' ye since I left 'ome! C'mere!" a loud girl quickly picked up the Meowth the professor had been petting after it walked over to her. It cuddled into her, enjoying the wool of her jacket.

"What kind of accent is that?" (Y/n) whispered to Blue as he watched the girl play with the cat.

"Highland Galar" Selene replied just as quietly. "She's scary. Almost made me cry on the first day"

"Damn" (y/n) whispered as he watched the girl gush over the Meowth. "Doesn't come off that way to me"

"...Elio may have almost run her over with a Tauros" Selene whispered as she rubbed the back of her head.

"That would explain it" Blue nodded as he let out a small laugh. "He's lucky Gloria didn't castrate him. She's a violent one"

(Y/n) silently looked at Gloria before taking a small step back.

"ANYWHO" Professor Oak quickly brought the Student's attention back to him. "Now I'd like you all to take this time in the city to observe these Meowth, and if you're lucky a Persian or two. Feel free to catch them too if you so wish" Gloria quickly brought out a pokeball and caught the Meowth in her arms.

Blue quickly took (y/n)'s arm and lead him off once the class started spreading out. "Got something for you" he pulled a Pokédex from his pocket.

"Oh? Thanks" (y/n) smiled as he took the device from his friend. "You realize I have the app on my phone right?"

Blue rolled his eyes. "This one has some features your phone doesn't. Canceling evolutions, checking your Pokémon's moods and attacks, and more. Got it from my Gramps before he went back to Kanto"

(Y/n) smiled wider as he opened the device and looked it over. "I really appreciate it"

Blue nodded. "Already has the info for your Tandemaus and Rhyhorn, anything else you catch will automatically be uploaded" (y/n) nodded.

(Y/n) didn't have any immediate plans to complete the Pokédex and Blue knew this, but it was nice to have the option and doubly as cool to have an actual Pokédex. "Let's test it out!"

Blue raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

"I've always wanted a cat Pokémon" (y/n) smiled as he walked around to the nearest Alolan Meowth. It growled at him and he stopped in his tracks.

"Do you even have a pokeball to use?" Blue asked before watching his friend frown. "Here" he pulled one from his pocket and held it out. "Looks like you're going to have to battle that one though"

(Y/n) frowned. "I'm not sure Tandemaus is good for this battle. And Rhyhorn-"

Blue shook his head before grabbing another pokeball and holding it to his Pokédex. "Aim your dex at the Meowth"

(Y/n) did as said and suddenly his screen had words on it. "Transfer complete" he read before a Pokémon quickly popped out of his dex and landed before the Meowth, making computer like noises as it did. "Woah"

"Porygon consists entirely of programming code, as such it's capable of moving freely in cyberspace" he watched as the Meowth curiously looked Porygon over while getting ready to attack. "Give it a command"

(Y/n) quickly looked down at his dex and glanced at Porygon's moves. "Alright Porygon... use Thunder wave!" He didn't want to hurt this Pokémon he was about to catch if it could be avoided. Blue smirked as he noticed that, the similarities between him and Yellow continued to grow.

The Meowth hissed as it was hit with the attack and found itself unable to move. (Y/n) quickly threw the pokeball and groaned as it missed. Blue pat his back and handing him a black, gold, and red ball. "This is a luxury ball, they're expensive but given the Pokémon you're catching it'll probably appreciate this one more"

"Did you expect me to miss the first time?" (Y/n) asked, only getting a smirk in response. He throw the ball. This time it didn't miss.

The ball shook three times before dinging. (Y/n) smiled before walking over to the ball and picking it up. "You chose the most selfish type of Meowth" Blue spoke as he watched the boy. "Feed it well and you'll probably get it to like you"

"I sure hope so" (y/n) spoke with a smile as he looked down at the ball in his hands.
