"I just needed to get away from the Kanto and Johto guys for a day" (y/n) spoke as he sat with the couple who he had barely even talked to before the Pokémon of one of them had tripped him. Now he was eating dinner with them. "All this talk of evil organizations and how to bring them down really just was not my thing"

The girl, Marnie, shrugged as she took a tiny bite of her boyfriend's bagel. "Well you're good company, we're glad to have you" she spoke in a galarian accent.

"Speaking of, we have to head to the double battles club" the boy known as Chaos spoke as he pulled his bagel back from the girl and took a bite. Nobody knew this boys actual name which was strange, especially considering that the school doctor, who Chaos unofficially worked for, also didn't seem to have any idea what his name was. "You're welcome to come if you'd like"

(Y/n) considered it before frowning. "I'm not the best battler. I've only had my Pokémon for a bit"

"There are more people around here that are like that than you would think" Chaos responded with a shrug. "I'm sure there are at least two in the club and I'm certain another person would be willing to hold back"

(Y/n) nodded. "Alright then, I'll join you"

"Shall we go then lads?" Marnie asked as she playfully snatched her boyfriend's bagel and took another bite of it.

"We shall" Chaos nodded as he stood up and the other two quickly followed his lead. "Let's head out"

It didn't take long for the group to arrive at the club. It seemed like it had been going on for a while. "I thought the club started at eight?" Marnie quickly glanced at her watch.

"That's what you told me" Chaos nodded in agreement.

"Nope, seven" Nemona spoke as she walked over to the three. "(Y/n)! You came to my club!"

"I did. Was I expected to?" He asked with a confused look. "Did you invite me?"

"I did" Nemona spoke with a frown. "You forgot?"

"Sorry, I must have been a bit groggy when you asked me"

Marnie smirked as she noticed the two seemed to be friends. "Well then since most of the others are gone, care for a quick battle before you're off to beddy-byes?" Marnie asked as she quickly slipped a pokeball out of her jacket pocket.

"Sure!" Nemona smiled as she quickly grabbed a pokeball of her own. "(Y/n) you're with me"

(Y/n) frowned. "You've seen how I battle" he replied as he reluctantly pulled out one of his three pokeballs. "I'm literal leagues bellow the rest of you"

Nemona took the boys pokeball and placed it back in his pocket. "I'll lend you a couple of mine if you'd like"

"Really?" He asked, surprised by the offer.

"Yeah. You're not getting out of this battle that easily" she spoke with a smirk as she grabbed another pokeball and gave it to the boy.

"So three Pokémon each?" Chaos asked as he searched his pocket and pulled out a pokeball of his own.

"Sounds like a plan" Nemona nodded.

Chaos' Chandelure and Marnie's Morpeko were surprisingly strong. They each knocked out two Pokémon before being knocked out themselves. While (y/n) didn't particularly like that, Nemona was having the time of her life with this battle and was insisting that it was a good experience for learning.

The battle ended with Marnie and Chaos as the winners, each with one Pokémon left. "You two are great!" Nemona spoke happily as she quickly brought their Pokémon to a healing machine that was supplied by the school. "The only pair to beat me all night!"

(Y/n) frowned, realizing that the only reason Nemona probably lost was because she was paired up with him.

"You two were wonderful" Marnie replied happily as she followed after Nemona. "All the excitement's got me even more knackered than I already was"

Soon enough the Pokémon were healed and Chaos and Marnie each grabbed the ones belonging to them before putting them away.

"I think I'd like to be a permanent member of the club" Chaos spoke after a moment, causing Nemona to squeal in delight, before he looked to Marnie. "What do you say darling?"

Marnie nodded as she offered him a soft smile. "I'd be happy to join as well"

Nemona looked like she was about to burst with joy. She quickly looked to (y/n) who realized she was hoping he'd say the same thing. "Well... ah hell, alright I'll join"

"Yes!" Nemona jumped up happily. "You won't regret it! I'm gonna get you at champion level in no time!"

"I'm not sure I'm quite that good but I appreciate the effort" (y/n) replied as he put his hands in his pockets.

"You'll get there" Chaos replied with a kind smile. "Some start a natural buts it's not a necessity"

Marnie nodded in agreement. "Besides, from what I've heard you've got multiple champion level trainers doing their best to help you"

"Where'd you hear that?" (Y/n) asked with a confused look.

"Gloria gossips when she's drunk" Marnie let out a small laugh. "The point is now you've got two more"

The idea of Gloria even more unhinged than she already was scared (y/n) but he kept silent about that. "Well I appreciate it" he glanced at a clock on the wall of the room. "I should head out. My roommate is either asleep or having insomnia at this time every night. Either way I need to make sure he's doing it in our dorm"

Nemona nodded as she walked over to the boys side. "I'll walk you" (y/n) nodded his thanks.

Marnie glanced at Chaos who just nodded before she looked at (y/n) again. "Meet us at lunch tomorrow. We'll check out another club tomorrow"

"Sounds like fun" (y/n) smiled as he and Nemona began walking. "See you tomorrow!"

"Adiós!" Nemona added in before the pair exited the room.
