"Come on (y/n)!" Nemona cheered on her friend as his Rhyhorn rammed into Roxanne's Geodude, knocking it out. It had been a week since he had lost this battle and now, during their second student council meeting, Nemona had pressured him into trying again. He was doing better this time.

Roxanne smiled as she returned her Geodude to its pokeball. "You're doing well" she spoke before throwing out her second pokemon. "Let's see if you can finish this" she spoke as her pokeball flew back into her hand.

"We'll see" (y/n) shook his head as he looked at his Rhyhorn, the Pokémon seemed to be handling the battle alright but it was also looking a bit tired. This battle needed to be ended quickly. "Geode, use Bulldoze!"

"You've been studying type advantages!" Nemona realized happily as she clapped her hands together rapidly. Rhyhorn quickly stomped down on the ground, shaking the floor and startling Selene out of her thoughts, knocking her to the floor since she was the only one who wasn't ready for this.

Nosepass made a worried noise as it tried to withstand the attack but it found itself falling over a second later. Nosepass wiggled around on its back, trying and failing to get back up as the attack continued.

Eventually the attack ended and Nosepass managed to get back up, although it was wobbly. (Y/n) glanced at his Pokédex and saw that its health was low. 

"Ice punch!" Roxanne was quick to yell once Nosepass had gotten up. The pokemon quickly did as it was told.

"Dodge it!" (Y/n) yelled a second too late. Because of the order Rhyhorn mostly made it out of the way but cried out as it found its side grazed by the super effective attack.

"Bulldoze!" (Y/n) quickly yelled again. At this close a range it knocked Nosepass out almost immediately. It also again knocked the unsuspecting Selene on her ass but the attack quickly ended a second later.

(Y/n) smiled as he realized he had defeated the Pokémon. His smile however quickly fell when he remembered that Juliana had told him that Roxanne swapped between using two pokemon and three pokemon when it came to her gym battles. He looked at her to see what she'd do.

Roxanne returned her fainted Pokémon to its ball before putting that away. She was about to grab the ball for her second Geodude when she looked at Rhyhorn again, it was on the verge of passing out. (Y/n) and Geode had tried so hard, it would be a shame to take this from them. And she hardly used her second Geodude in the gym anyways.

(Y/n) watched as Roxanne reached into a pocket in her jeans instead of for one of the pokeballs on her belt. He sighed in relief when she smiled and pulled out a gym badge.

(Y/n) returned Geode to its ball so it could rest as Roxanne walked over to him. "Congratulations. This is the stone badge, and it's all yours" she pinned it onto the boys shirt as she enjoyed the wide smile that forced its way onto his face. "This badge will raise your Pokémon's attack, enable you to use the HM cut, and make it so Pokémon caught or traded over level twenty will obey you" she spoke as her phone transferred eleven thousand dollars in to him for his victory.

"I'm so proud of you!" The two turned their heads just in time to see Nemona jump onto (y/n)'s back. "I knew you could do it"

"Nemona you're going to hurt him" Juliana frowned as she walked over to the group. "But she's right, we knew you could do it" she spoke as she gave the boy a quick pat on the arm before yanking Nemona off of him.

Selene still sat on the floor. Her expression blank, just a small smile as she thought about something.

"Thanks" (y/n) spoke after a second as he looked down at his new badge. "I thought this would take another couple meetings at least"

Roxanne just smiled as she thought about how it could have if she had gone with her original plan. "You think to lowly of your battling skills. Sure you're not a natural like Nemona or Juliana but with enough practice you could thrive"

(Y/n) nodded in understanding as he looked up from his badge and to Roxanne again. "Do-"

"Wait you won?! Congrats!" They all turned to see that Selene had now popped out of whatever thought she had been sucked into overthinking about.

(Y/n) watched out of the window as Selene played with their shared Tandemaus in the school gardens. The student council meeting was long over and he'd given her the Pokémon for the weekend. He kept them most of the time but raising them was still a group assignment, so Selene had to have them sometimes.

"She's cute" (y/n) quickly turned his head to find Green now standing beside him. "Are you stalking her?"

"How did you get into my room?" (Y/n) asked as he turned to look at his girlfriend.

The girl looked at the boy before holding up a little box which he guessed had some sort of lock picking supplies inside. Her eyes moved down as she spotted something unfamiliar. "Well look at that, who'd you steal that from?"

(Y/n) gave her a confused look before looking down and realizing that she was referring to the gym badge which was still pinned to his shirt. "Roxanne"

"You stole from a gym leader?" Green smirked, surprised the boy had the gall to do that.

"What? No. I won it" (y/n) frowned as he shook his head.

"Oh. Nice! Can't blame me for not jumping to that conclusion though" Green spoke as she leaned towards him and kissed the boy on the cheek.

"Guess not" (y/n) shrugged as he turned to look at the fish tank which Bubbles the Magikarp was floating around inside of.

Green picked up the boys Meowth from his bed and cuddled it to her chest. "Feel like taking me out to dinner? To celebrate your victory of course, not because I don't want to buy my own dinner"

(Y/n) rolled his eyes playfully before nodding. "Sure. We can go later"

"Go now" they both turned and realized that they had both missed that Calem was lying in his bed under the covers. "You're to loud"

"ARE WE?!" Green basically shouted her question. Calem just groaned before grabbing one of his pillows and smothering himself with it. "LET'S GO (Y/N)! CALEM NEEDS HIS SLEEP!" Tooka the Meowth hissed at her screaming before jumping out of the girls arms and onto Calem's bed where it decided to cuddle the boy who again just groaned from beneath the pillow.

"You are cruel" (y/n) couldn't help the smile that grew on his face as he took Green's hand and led her out of the room, locking the door behind them.

"Thank you" Green smiled happily as the two began walking again.

Dinner had been nice but the walk through the old city was nicer. Green leaned into her boyfriend's side, their arms entwined, as they talked about whatever came to mind. The meleke stone buildings around them helped to make this city feel as old and holy as it was and less like the cities that Green and (y/n) were used to. In short, it was nice.

Unfortunately the peaceful atmosphere couldn't last. Both (y/n) and Green's rotom phones quickly flew out of their pockets, displaying an alert sent out by the university.

"Due to a rise in gang activities, starting tonight all students will be required to be back on campus by sundown. Any students found out past then will find their actions have consequences" (y/n) read the alert aloud, sighing once he was finished.

Green huffed and leaned more into her boyfriend as their phones flew back into their pockets. "How are we supposed to take down Team Rocket quickly if we can't go out when they're the most active?"

(Y/n) just shrugged, not wanting to get into a conversation about Team Rocket yet again. "We should head back. It'll be getting dark soon"

Green huffed yet again but nodded. "Everywhere I go there's Team Rocket. They're like birds but less scary and more disease-ridden"

(Y/n) shook his head as he pulled his arm out of Green's grip and wrapped it around her shoulder. He hated seeing her this upset. He hated seeing how much talking about Team Rocket changed the people around him. "They're pests" he agreed as they walked towards the exit of the city, they had been walking there anyways before the announcement.

"They are worse than that" Green nodded as she looked up at the boy. "They're-" Her anger fell and she just let out a sigh. "Sorry"

"They get you riled up, I get it" (y/n) replied as he pulled Green closer and kissed her forehead. "I want them gone too. Although I just want it so you don't have to worry about them"

Green smiled as she turned to look forward and watch where they were walking. "You're sweet" she whispered. "Let's talk something nicer"

"Okay" (y/n) nodded as they exited the old city into the newer city which surrounded it. "What do you want to talk about?"

Green was silent for a minute as she considered that. "I don't know. All I can think about is Sabrina and Team Rocket"

(Y/n) flinched at the thought of Sabrina and what she had done to them. "I get that" he spoke quietly. "Sabrina has been on my mind a lot too"

Green glanced up at the boy again. "She's gotten close to killing me a few times but that was definitely the closest"

(Y/n) held the girl tighter as he heard that. "Thank Arceus for Red" Green nodded in agreement.

After another minute (y/n) spoke up again. "What's up with him?"

"Red?" Green asked with a confused look.

"Yeah. Has he always been as quiet as he is now?" (Y/n) asked, glad he finally found a question to change the topic with.

Green smiled as memories of how Red used to be flooded back into her mind. "No. He used to talk a lot. And he yelled too... especially when I stole his gym badges"

"You stole his badges?" (Y/n) asked with a laugh.

"I still have them" Green smirked as she pulled away from the boy and moved her hair to reveal the badges that she wore as earrings. "The ones he has are fakes I replaced them with"

(Y/n) couldn't help the laugh that escaped his lips. "And you have the nerve to wear stolen jewelry around? I'm impressed"

Green shrugged playfully. "I don't usually wear them but date night seemed like the right time to show off"

"Should I assume Red doesn't know?" (Y/n) asked as Green covered her ears again with her hair and cuddled back up to her boyfriend as they began walking again.

"I think he knows but I'm not sure" Green whispered back her response. "So shush Baby. Don't go tattling on me"

"Wouldn't dream of it" (y/n) replied as he let out another small laugh.

"Good boy" Green kissed his cheek. "It would really suck if I had to dump you"

"No need for threats, I already said I'll stay quiet" (y/n) laughed again.

"I wasn't threatening. Only saying it would be unfortunate if you forced me to do something I'd like to avoid" Green snatched Geode's pokeball from the boy's pocket.  "Can I try riding him back?"

(Y/n) considered her question for a moment before nodding. "Sure. But if you're no good at it then I'm taking the reigns"

Green pouted at his doubt of her skills before throwing the ball to release the Pokémon.
