A Whole New World
Red and Jade walked into the large lab, ready for Oak's Summer Camp. "Wow, this is amazing" Jade said "I want to make lots of new friends" she ran into the of kids. Red decided to explore the forest.
He leaned on a tree as a man came up "Hey kid, want some candy". "How about you give me the candy and I don't tell the Professor you are here" Red replied. He then saw a small lollypop drop beside him as the man ran away.
Jade was talking to her new friends. They were talking about how amazing pokemon showcases were. Katelyn, one of her new friends said "I was watching one of the kalos king and queen from a long time ago. They were amazing, I think they were Ash and Serena...". "that's my parents!" Jade yelled out excitedly. "No way" Katelyn yelled back "you are like a princess! You live on an island now right?". "Yep" Jade smiled back at her "Its kinda boring".
Red sat, overhearing Jades conversation, now I know why we live on a remote island he thought. To avoid people like that.
"Now kids" Professor Oak Jr. said "It's time for each of you to choose a starter pokemon". All of the children stared as Oak let out all of the pokemon that had been brought from outer regions. "If you don't feel satisfied with these pokemon, then feel free to go into the forest surrounding the lab, but you will only be provided two pokeballs.
Red surveyed the pokemon selection, none of them were strong, and they were all arogent looking. They were probably bred to be cute, and be picked. No one would want a hard to train pokemon for their first... Except him.
He grabbed two pokeballs from the table and set off for the forest.
Jade looked, all of the pokemon looked awesome yet none of them stood out. Then a pokemon sat in the corner of the room, it looked slightly smaller than the others.
The small mudkip looked up at her as she walked up to it. "I choose you!" Jade smiled and picked up it's pokeball. She walked outside, the mudkip followed her. "Wow you're cute" she smiled.
"Just like you Jade" a mean kid named Josh said "choosing the one with no friends, so you aren't alone". Jade was mad at him, not just frustrated, but she wanted to punch him. "Well I am friends with my pokemon!" she yelled at him. "You can't be friends with a mudkip you just met" he replied. "Well you wouldn't know, because you are so mean to you're pokemon so you will never be friends with them" She grinned at him.
"Who do you think you are" He challenged her "My great grandfather was the original professor oak, how about you, huh HUH?!?". "Well, my father is Ash, pokemon champion" she put extra emphases on the last word.
Josh walked away "PSH!" he had said, but Jade had won that battle of words.
