Celebi the Time Traveller
When we were back at Booker's house, Booker was taking the ukelele from Pichu. "Don't worry, Pichu, I'll fix your ukelele for you." Booker looked up at me. "Hello, Summer. It would be a big help if you would patrol the village while I fixed this here ukelele."
I nodded. "Understood." I walked back out of the house and I was immediately sought out by a little boy.
"Ranger! There's something that you should see at the plaza of the town!" He said, then ran off.
Damn, I'm always being sought out. I guess it's one of the downsides of being the only other Ranger in Oblivia, according to everyone in Cocona Village. I raced to the plaza. People were gathered around that stone monument that had began to slightly glow green.
"The Stone of Time is glowing!" A little girl said is disbelief.
A man noticed me and said, "Oh, good! The Ranger's here!"
Everyone made way for me to examine the stone. I had hardly touched it before the light grew brighter and seperated itself from the stone. Everyone freaked out and ran away, leaving me alone with the light. Only when everyone was gone did the light die out to reveal Celebi, the time traveller.
"Biiiii!" It greeted me, circling above my head like my Capture Disc does when I'm capturing a Pokemon.
I was so shocked that I actually got to see Celebi. It was soooo cute! Then it acted as if it wanted me to capture it.
"Oh... Um... Capture On!" I yelled. Even though Celebi acted like she wanted me to capture her, she still attacked. It was almost as if she was testing me... Pfffft! As if that would ever happen!
"Capture Complete!" I called out when Celebi gave me an impish smile. It's amazing that this Celebi is so interested in me... I know that I've been saying this a lot, but I want Ben here to witness this with me.
I didn't have long to think about that, though, because Celebi opened up a portal of light and sucked me into it. I'm not going to lie; I screamed. It was exhilarating, yet terrifying. Before I knew it, we were back in the plaza. I looked around to see little huts and I was standing on a strange design. Where have I seen that design? Oh, yeah, it was on the stage at Cocona Village.
"Hey, Celebi! Are you making mischief again?" A chilish voice called out. "Who is this person?"
Celebi flew over to a kid with a happy cry. I turned towards the kid. "Um..."
"You look... Very interesting." The strange kid said. I could say the same thing! "I've never seen clothes like this before." Then he seemed to realize something. "Wait! Did you... come by here from Celebi's Time Travel? Did you come from another time?!"
I was shocked. Sure, I had expected that, but for someone to put my situation into words...
"I've heard of Celebi's Time Travel, but I never thought it was true." The boy said with a mixed expression of wonder and a scowl directed at Celebi. "Celebi, why did you do that? You need to take this person back to their own time!" Then he turned to me with a sheepish smile. "Oh, um... I'm Ravio. This Pokemon is my friend. Who are you?"
"I'm Summer Hitomi, a Pokemon Ranger. I came from Cocona Village." I introduced myself.
"I don't have a clue what a Ranger is, but did you say that you came from Cocona Village?"
I nodded.
"Well, this place is called Cocona Plaza. I think we may be in the same place, but at different times." Ravio said. "And, although I'm scared to learn about the future, can you tell me more about these Pokemon Rangers?"
I smiled at him and told him a brief explanation of what a Pokemon Ranger was.
"Capture? Can you get help from Pokemon, just like the temple oracles?" Ravio asked.
I nodded, although I didn't understand what he was talking about. It's probably best if I don't say anything unless it's answering a question, for fear of destroying the future.
"Did you become friends with Celebi, Summer?" He asked.
I smiled and grabbed out of the air to squeeze it into a hug. "You betcha!"
""Biiiiiii!" Celebi agreed.
"Can you tell Celebi to stop its mischief?" Ravio asked.
I glanced down at the Pokemon in my arms right as it looked up at me. I smiled back at Ravio. "Even if I did, do you think she would stop?" I asked. "You can lead a Rapidash to water, but you can't make her drink."
"Well, she seemed to have brought you here for no reason!" Ravio argued. "And it should know better than to do that in front of the temples made to honor Arceus!" He sighed. "Can you forgive Celebi for being so mischievous?"
I blinked. "Of course I will!"
Ravio looked at Celebi with a look that showed that he was more mature than his appearance let on. "Celebi, take Summer home."
Celebi broke out of my arms and gave a reluctant sigh.
"Bye, Summer Hitomi!" Ravio called as the familiar white portal appeared.
"Bye, Ravio!" I said, knowing that we would never see each other again. "Take care!"
Then I bit my lip so that I wouldn't scream when I felt like I was falling. Then I was back in the future. Home, sweet home!
I hope that Ravio takes care, even though he's in the past and he's already... No. I can't think that way.
I turn to thank Celebi for returning me to my time, but she has already disappeared.
When I came back, all of the townspeople surrounded me. "Summer!" Ralph cried. "I'm so glad that you're safe!"
"What happened?" A man asked. "We were s-"
"Oh, that's right! Pichu's ukelele is probably finished by now!" Ralph interrupted, knowing by my uncomfortable look that I wasn't comfortable about speaking about it.
Celebi trusted me not to interfere with the future or the past when she brought me back in time... I've entered an unspoken agreement that only me and Celebi should know about. Huh... This might be the only thing that I can't share with Ben, and I tell Ben everything!
I grabbed Ralph's hand and ran to Booker's house. As soon as we walked in, Booker was handing Pichu her ukelele.
"Welcome back, ya'll." Booker greeted.
"Pichu pi!" Ukelele Pichu added. And as soon as Pichu took that ukelele into her hands, she bounced around the house like mad, strumming the ukelele like a rockstar.
We laughed at Pichu's antics. Booker suddenly got serious again. "About what's going on next... Summer, aren't you going after those Pokemon Pinchers?"
I nodded vigorously.
"It was too bad that you were seperated from your partner," Booker continued. Arceus, why did people remind me that I was alone in this huge and new region? It's bad enough that I don't have Ben at all, region or no region! "But there's one Area Ranger on this island. His name's Rand. You should go meet him as soon as possible. He even has a daughter who loves to tinker with electronical devices!"
"Could she fix my Styler?" I asked.
"If anybody in Oblivia can fix it, it's Nema." Nick confidently said. "He lives to the east, past Lapras beach."
"Well, then I should get going, huh?" I said, not wanting to leave my only friends on this island. But if I didn't, I wouldn't meet my only ally in Oblivia."
"See you later, Summer!" Ralph said with a chipper smile.
"Stop by whenever you get the chance!" Nick and Booker said at the same time, scaring both of them and me.
I walked out of the house and started on my way to this Ranger's house when I suddenly heard Pichu cry out and grab my leg. "Wh-what?" I asked.
"Pipi, pichu chupi!" Pichu screamed, tightening its grip on my leg.
"Do you want to come with me?" I asked.
It nodded.
Then I realized something. "You want to find your friends, right?"
She nodded again.
"Do you want to be my partner, not just a tag-along Pokemon?" I asked.
Pichu let go of my leg and jumped up for me to catch her. I laughed. "I'll take that as a yes! But I can't just go about calling you 'Ukelele Pichu'. That sounds pretty formal. How about I call you Yuka?"
Pichu cocked its head to the side in confusion. "Pichu pi?"
"It sounds like ukelele. Yuka." I explained.
Pichu cheered again. I guess that's a yes!
Now I'm not entirely alone as I make my way through Oblivia...
