It is here where you start your journey. Here you find your neighbor and rival, and venture to the great lake. There you will find a case with three pokeballs and about 50 pokeballs.
(First three each get a starter

Piplup The Water Type
Turtwig The Grass Type
Chimchar The Fire Type

And 4th and up can grab a pokeball and catch a Starly, Shinx, Bidoof, or Kricketot as their starter.

After that, you are free to venture onwards to Route 201. Aka Route 1....after you tell your Mom your goal.
