A/N: The setting is in a different universe (so don't be confused :)) There are still Pokemon in this one-shot btw. This is my first time writing on the @ContestshippingSquad so it might not be too good. Enough talking, let's start 💚Contestshipping🌹, shall we?

May POV

"Bye! Have fun trick-or-treating!" I waved to a girl with green-hair and sapphire eyes. "Don't forget to come home before 8:30, Rose!"

"Bye mom, bye dad!" Rose called back, she was in a Glaceon costume that compliments her hair and matches her eyes.

I looked over to my husband, Drew. He was waving goodbye.

I smiled and walked back to the living room and sat down on the couch, waiting for Serena and Dawn because they offered to help us with trick-or-treaters. Drew came and sat down beside me.

"She grew up so fast," Drew said as Skitty jumped on the couch meowing for attention. "It kind of reminds me of when we first met."

"Yea," I smiled, thinking of the memory. It's the best Halloween in my life.

*Flashback* (it's still May POV)

It was October 31st. The first time I am allowed to go trick-or-treating alone with my friends! I was soooo excited! I wore a Beautifly costume with a really pretty dress and happily went out looking for Serena and Dawn. We were planning to go to Dawn's house for a sleepover after trick-or-treating.

"Maybelle! Over here!" Serena called, she was in a pink Fennekin outfit and Dawn was wearing a cute Slowpoke costume.

"Hi guys!" I said as I approached them, "Serena, you can just call me May, you know."

"But Maybelle is more elegant! And you look like a princess in that costume." Serena replied.

"Aww, thank you," I said. "You look really pretty too!"

Dawn suddenly gave a cough, "Oh pardon me right here."

Me and Serena looked at each other and smiled. "And Dawn you look so adorable in your outfit!" I exclaimed.

"Why thank you so much, May." Dawn said cheerfully, "Let's go get candy!"

It was super fun. Serena, Dawn, and I got tons of different candy. Skittytles, Kit Delcatty, Jiggly Ranchers, Sour Patch Mudkips, Sobble Gum, Mr. Goodrabars...and much more! We spent lots of time going from door to door and receiving different varieties of candy and chocolate. After a while, our legs were getting tired so we went to a nearby park.

"Oh no! Is it this late already?" Serena suddenly exclaimed, "I promised mom to go home and help her with the rhyhorns."

"Oh you better go right now! We'll meet at Dawn's then." I said, popping a Jiggly Rancher in my mouth.

"Yea, see you Maybelle, Dawn!" Serena shouted, hurrying away.

"Bye!" Dawn waved, sitting down for a moment before standing up suddenly.

"What's wrong, Dawn?" I asked.

"I forgot to ask my mom if she can make some snacks for us later!" she said frantically. "What should I do?"

"Calm down Dawn," I reasoned. "Just go home right now and we'll meet at your place later."

"You don't mind trick-or-treating alone for a while then?" Dawn asked.

"Nope, plus I got tons of candy already," I replied. "I'm probably just going to do a few more houses and go home to pick up my sleepover stuff. I'll see you then?"

"Er...ok then." Dawn said , "Sorry May, see you later!"

I signed, before eating another Jiggly Rancher and continued to more houses. On the way I saw a green haired boy around my age in a Flygon costume walking alone and trick-or-treating along the way. I have to admit, he looks really handsome...wait what am I thinking!? I decided to talk to him.

"Hi!"

"Oh...er hi?" he looked a bit surprised, "Who are you?"

"My name is May," I replied, "what's your's?"

"Drew," he said, "Nice to meet you May."

"Why were you trick-or-treating alone, Drew?"I curiously asked.

"None of your business, March." Drew replied coldly. "Why are you alone then?"

"MY NAME IS MAY! M. A. Y." I exclaimed, "Well, I was alone because my friends had other things they forgot to do so they went home a bit early."

"In other words, they abandoned you." he teased, "how sad, are you really that annoying?"

"Why you!" I'm actually mad now, "You know what, I was going to ask if you want to trick-or-treat with me but never mind! I bet you don't even have friends. Hmph!"

With that I walked away, not looking back. How can someone be so rude? It was another twenty minutes before I decided to go back home. I was walking down a quiet street and before deciding to eat a packet of Sour Patch Mudkips.

Suddenly out of nowhere, three girls appeared out of nowhere and blocked my path. One with short light burgundy hair with a Surskit costume, a girl with curly coral pigtails in a Plusle and Minun outfit, and a blue short haired girl in a Swirlix costume.

"Umm... excuse me, please. Can you please move? You're kinda in my way," I said politely.

The coral pigtailed girl laughed, and the Swirlix girl looked a bit uncomfortable.

The third girl with burgundy hair spoke, "Who do you think you are to tell us what to do?"

"I'm May," I replied, feeling a little scared.

"Well May, I'm Ursula, this Surskit girl is Briana, and the blue haired one is Miette. the coral pigtail girl said. "And since we are so(so is said sarcastically) nice. we'll let you go,"

"If you hand over your candy, first." Briana finished.

"M-my candy?" I repeated, how can they think of such a deal?! "No WAY! These are mine! You can't just take them!"

"Tsk, tsk, little May. Hand it over, now," Briana taunted, "Miette you say something too, will you?"

"Oh...umm," Miette began, she sounded unsure of herself if I'm being honest, "Or-r we'll do b-bad things!"

Briana turned around to scold Miette for the horrible threat. I took the opportunity to try to escape but suddenly I tripped over something. I looked up and realized I tripped over Ursula's stuck-out leg.

"Not so fast, thinking of escaping, are we?" she smirked cunningly, kneeling down and pressing me on the ground. I clutched my candy bag closer to my chest, "You'll regret getting on the wrong side of us!"

"What should we do with her, girls?" Briana asked.

"I say we give her a good beating!" Ursula responded, I shivered at the thought, "teach her a lesson she won't forget!"

"Okay th–" Briana began.

"NO!" Miette suddenly cried, "Don't hurt her!"

Briana turned toward her, "What did you say?"

"I-I mean let's just t-take the candy-y and go." Miette stammered with fright, "We d-don't want to g-get in-n trouble, do w-we?"

Ursula wasn't holding me as hard as before and I slowly freed myself a little bit. Briana looked really mad, she was advancing on a frightened Miette.

"How dare you betray us Miette?" she shouted.

"W-well, I'm sick of bullying people with you two! I only joined you guys because I thought we were just teasing around, not actually hurting people!" Miette yelled back.

Briana was just about to slap Miette before I pulled her out of the way since Ursula is not even holding me anymore. Miette looked at me gratefully.

"Run, keep my candy safe" I told her, handing her my bag. "Go get help, I can't hang on for long."

She nodded and sprinted off. I turned to face Briana and Ursula.

"You!" Briana exclaimed, " You'll pay!"

We(Briana, Ursula,&May) fought for a while with me trying not to hit back and dodge most of the time. Eventually, I was knocked down and they stood right before me.

"Now you'll know why not to mess with us!" Briana said, "Ursula, would you like to do the honors?"

"Surely," Ursula raised her fist and I closed my eyes preparing for the pain that is sure to follow. But nothing came.

I looked up and realized the boy I got mad at earlier blocked the blow, holding Ursula's wrist tightly.

"Let go!" she cried.

"Who are you?" Briana said, "What do you think you're doing?"

"Same thing I want to say to you, why are you hurting May?" He looked angry.

"Drew?" I stood up. "Why are you here?"

Just then, Miette came running back with Serena and her mom.

"May!" Serena exclaimed, "I heard what happened! Are you ok?"

"I'm fine!" I called back.

"Ugh! Let's go, Ursula!" Briana said she was just about to escape before I blocked her path.

"Not so fast, you're not gonna go anywhere yet."

*End of Flashback*

And what happened next was history. I smiled and the doorbell rang suddenly.

"Coming!" I called and opened the door.

"May!" Serena and Dawn exclaimed, "Happy Halloween!"
