Everything around her blurred.  But her eyes didn't falter away from the name written on the Gravestone

Drew Hayden

She hated him. Despised him. But he didn't deserve to die at such a young age. He didn't deserve to die at all!

Sobs escaped her lips. Roserade, who was behind the gravestone came and comforted May. They both hugged each other. But nothing seemed to put their mind at ease.  Soledad and Harley eventually came when they heard the sobbing of their fellow friend. They hugged her, patted her back, wiped her tears, said soothing words but nothing seemed to work on both of them. Harley was numb, holding back tears while Soledad looked at May who was miserably crying. She still tried to comfort her, hopefully something would work?

Harley looked at the gravestone with despise.

It's all your fault that you left us. Especially her Drew. We all know you liked her, and yet you left her, all miserable. She finally was about to move on. But the time when you tried to contact her? was when you were about to die? It's not fair. You could've man up and told her to her face whatever you think of her. I know, it might would've left scars but that oughta still be better. You could've come clear instead of sending an apology letter to May. And y'know why? Because she freaking love you! And love, does not fade away that easily. May learnt to use her heart less, so that the love she had for you? get buried deep inside her. She was no longer the 'happy-go-lucky' kind anymore. She became cold. Only bonded with her old friends, and rest was all about work and nothing else. There were times she cried herself to sleep. But now..... You're gone...

May started to calm down a bit. Roserade looked at her with pleading eyes.

"Roserade Rose Roser-ade" There is something Drew wanted me to show you May. Please. Come with me.

May looked at Roserade and then the graveyard.

He wanted to make things right... And she was fussing over what he told her years ago. She is mature now. Everyone has times they mess up. So did Drew. But still there it was stinging in her heart, playing those words inside her head. She nodded slightly  but didn't have the motivation to get up. Soledad helped her up as Harley took out a hanky to clean her face.

"Honey cakes you sure you wanna..."
"Yes.... That's probably his last wish. I can't deny it Harley." May said as she looked at Roserade and nodded.

"Do you want us to accompany you?" Soledad inquired. May glanced at Roserade, who just shook her head.

"No thanks, I'll be fine Soledad." May said forcing a smile before nodding and heading off along with Roserade.

The female-now-wild-Pokemon led her to a room upstairs. A room she missed seeing on her first search for the pokemon. It was lime green paint, with few splashes of Red painted Roses here and there. The room was massively large. It got book shelves filled with paperwork and files.

Her eyes fell upon one file which was different from the rest. It was red, with a sticker on it that was destroyed from scratching. She took it out, and her eyes landed on the photo behind it. It was of May, Drew, Soledad and Harley.

She was speechless to see it.

"Roserade Rose Roseeee" May, open the file. It's for you, the last page

May looked at Roserade before opening the file. It was related to property and his pokemon stuff. The last page consisted of a riddle. Sort of anyway.

Besides the most beautiful fountain, between life and death. Go find it airhead...
-Love Drew

The love was overwritten a million times. 'yours sincerely, your Drew, your love, love Drew, Love Grasshead' it seemed he had trouble choosing one signature closure

"What does he mean by that?" She murmured to herself. May shook her head, looked outside the window. A beautiful fountain.... Life and death... Death means the gravestone. And then Life would be.... a human fountain?
Her eyes stared at the sculpture. The fountain, had some sculptures. Three women and one boy. But she dared say

It looked like Harley, soledad, May and him. Her eyes widen

The sculpture was so similar to the picture behind the file!

BUT WHY!? What does it even supposed to mean? Drew threw them off, he abandoned them didn't he? then Why? What does all this even means?

May raced down the stairs with roserade following closely behind.

If life was the the sculpture and death was his gravestone. Then it should be somewhere in between. But What exactly?

"Roser?ade?" May? What happened?

"Drew hid it somewhere in between Roserade. He hid it somewhere in between the gravestone and this fountain.... Do you know what it is?" May asked looking at Roserade who looked confused before realization sunking in.

" Roserade...Rose Roserade" You're...standing on it.

The mud beneath May's feet was soft. She immediately stepped aside and started digging with her hands.... and nails

After a while of digging, she found few Purple hyacinth. And beneath them, was a box. May carefully took it out and opened it.

It was filled with paper.....
Letters to be precise.

May unfolded one of them

I F YOU'RE NOT JUNE THEN STOP READING!

Our Hayden family is known world wide for  being natural born leaders  of  our prestigious company. Which has an impact on global economy and GDP of our region. The company was supposed to be inherited by My brother and I. But I didn't want my family to decide what I wanted to do in life. I didn't want to become some company's manager. I didn't want anyone to work under me or to work under someone. My dream is to become a  pokemon co-ordinator. The beauty of it simply couldn't be put into words. But of course, my family was against it.

So we did our family battle. The one where those who could prove themselves worthy would get to decide. The competition was merely a simple test of IQ. The stake was either I stay back and study business studies, accountancy, management and the like, while My brother would get to explore the world and implore on the idea of expanding our business associate with Pokemon Rangers. Or, I get to become a co-ordinator while My brother stuffs his nose in books for 20 years. It was unfair for either of us.

So we made a fair deal out of it too, to divide it further.

If I win, and I win my first contest, I get to become a full fledged co-ordinator
If I win, and I lose my first contest, I would advance to the subset of taking part in 6 grand festivals to win at the least... one before coming back to the business world.

But if I lose, my brother would have to explore 7 whole regions, and get pictures of at the least 2 legendary pokemon in a year.

It was unfair for him. More for him since he was the elder. I am just glad I wasn't the first born in the hayden family. But despite the fact how many times I have been given an advantageous position, he would always be by my side.

But this time, it was different. He wanted to set on his own path and I too wanted to set on mine. I didn't ask him to be there for me! But I appreciate it.

But what he did was entirely out of love..... Not a favor that I needed to feel obliged to return.
He was smug, thinking I'll let him win. I did give him a upper hand though. By studying only at night and not during morning. I wouldn't sleep and for 3 days straight I didn't. The four and fifth day I passed out entirely. The six, I studied and gave priority to my health for the 4 remaining days.

The day came.
And I lost.

But what was surprising. Was the fact that I won. It turned out that our parent's wanted the most smart and hardworking child to immediately get into the management. My brother was so shocked. He developed a grudge against me. The look he gave me that day.... I couldn't get it out of my mind.

I lost my first contest to soledad. I couldn't believe I cried. But it was too much to take in. I lost twice for something I was deadset on achieving. For a decision I made on my own, on the path I chose, I made for myself. I was afraid that I would be called back home and be shut out in my room as a punishment. But soledad lifted my spirits. She didn't know what was going on in my life. I wouldn't trust her with that. But something told me I could trust her. For someone who has nearly lived in the world, friendless and entirely of solitude, I couldn't understand what I missed in my life. Soledad became a family to me afterwards, someone I look up to.

On my journey
I met another one with whom I became close.
It was May Maple

May stared at the letter. She didn't know what to think about it. So she did the next right thing. She took out the next one in order.

To whomever it may concerns
L ie, If you're not july don't read

May Maple, At first glance she appeared to be a clumsy airhead being who didn't know a thing about contest. So nervous and anxious. She didn't know a thing about coordination with pokemon. What you feel is what your pokemon would feel too. Behind that confident facade that she had, to show off her pokemon when we met on 10th of July, she was nervous. I could see right through her.

I still remember that fateful day. May was practicing  with her beautifly. She used gust to make the frisbee come towards her as she tried to catch it 'gracefully'. She was putting herself in the center light instead of her pokemon. There was no way she could have even the slightest chance of winning. The third frisbee was making it's way towards me. I caught it with one eye closed. No big deal, really.

And I don't know what possessed me at that moment, but I wanted to see her reaction. Afterall, she was being arrogant too.

But what was absolutely stunning about her was when she saw her pokemon in danger, she immediately got confidence and called out her attack. It was amazing. She had something inside her. Determination, passion, strength with style? Beauty with brawn I'll say. She doesn't have a brain of course, such an airhead.

I easily managed to battle her, it was rather easy. She was quite gullible to traps. Couldn't even see I was teasing her to agree to me. Eventually our battle was interrupted by team rocket.

I have to say
Something about her
The moment she came in my life I knew it
Things would become a lot more interesting
With an airhead like her

May narrowed her eyes. Drew couldn't miss the opportunity to tease her could he? Not in a billion years. He just has to tease her no matter the situation, weather, state of being alive or dead.

dead...

May quickly opened the third one. There were like, six letters. She read two so far.

To whoever it may concerns
O h how many times do I have to say, only January can read it

I couldn't help but wonder what she thinks of me. May Maple, she is improving a lot.  Her bond with her pokemon too is improving. She is blossoming into a wonderful flower.

I can't help it though. Something about her is so striking . It draws me to her. I remember the time when we both were stuck together in the island of Wynauts. Man it was fun. We got into trouble of course. She rescued me from drowning. And I rescued her from Team Rocket. I could feel our bond strengthen.

That was the day, Perhaps, I realized how much she meant to me. She is a worthy rival. And defeating her would be a challenge

But no matter what, I have to defeat her. So that I could never go back to the family business, but things didn't end the way I wanted them too.

My last contest, My last entry to Grand Festival
My last chance of staying in my path
Was gone when I lost to her

To whoever it may concerns
V engeance is cruel isn't it? February?

Well, My brother held a strong grudge against me. It hurts me to say this but I lost my brother the day I lost to him, but won in a way. He became cruel and cold hearted. He became a sadist. He would laugh when I felt burden, made mistakes and got punished. His smug look would never leave his face whenever he saw me at the company.

He would attend to anyone who wanted to meet me. I was glad in a way. I didn't want to face anyone when the news of my days as co-ordinator are over, reached the public. Also that he mainly had to attend to fangirls and Harley. Harley sure gave him quite a hard time.

Few years went well with no contact from Soledad and May. I wondered if they even cared.

That was when I found out that my brother had my mobile.
And he messaged My friends pretending to be me
He messaged May

May's eyes widen. Was the reply she got from Drew was NOT HIM!?! Was he telling the truth in these letters? She moved on to the next letter

To whomever it may concern
E hh Fine I'll call you by your name, March.... April.... What was your name again?

I was furious when I found out what he did. I couldn't believe him. He knew that she was close to me, and yet he said such words to her. I wanted to punch my brother

Which, I add with no shame at all, I did. We broke into  a fight. Physically, verbally, emotionally and mentally with each other and ourselves. Eventually, we both had to hire personal nurse to fix us up.

That day, I saw my brother's facade following. He admitted how jealous he was of me and My perfect life, of how he never got the chance to see the outside world. Of how he would crack up inside hearing praises all the time of his family, of being recognized by our parents or my achievements, of not having an identity of his own no matter how hard he tried, he was fed up of being in our shadows.

He broke into tears too. Tears of frustration build up inside of him for years. Tears of rejection and neglect. Tears of broken dreams and path, all for his family. Tears of anger, sorrow, satisfaction and insanity. Tears of being hidden and living under the shadow. Tears of bottling up.

I didn't know what to think of him anymore. I never realized that choosing my path would mean setting my brother on path of misery. I was selfish. I didn't even care about my brother and his dreams and emotions. While he was always there. It was just one time he decided to not be selfless and that's where it got him.

I don't deserve a brother like him. And he didn't deserve a brother like me. Or what he went through because of me.

Maybe... I am the one at fault

But May didn't deserve what he did to her
And just because of that
He was dead to me

He had taken things too far this time. I plan to kill him today. He had went insane. I don't know what happened to him but I better stop him before its too late. He is planning to do a genocide. I don't know him any longer. But his first target would be co-ordinators. All of them, including the judges. And among his first target, would be Soledad and May. Then Harley and Brianna.

I have to do this. And He might kill me but... I have to do this. I am sending Roserade to May. I know she would keep her safe. And I know roserade would bring her here. I hope she would take my other pokemon under her care too.

I already made my arrangements. The company has some valuable assets, which I would mention in my will, to be given to co-ordinators for contest purpose. As for our mansion? Everything will be mentioned in the will.

I wish someone would do something for the non adopted kids, who dream to be a trainer or coordinator. Or give shelter to those who run away from their homes to fulfill their dream. But alas, Today is the day I die. And I am going to take my brother with me.

May, If you're reading this, There is something I want to tell you. Please find it in your heart to forgive me. I never wanted to hurt you. And I apologize for what my brother did. I know I can't make things right. Even if you decide to give me a chance, it'll be too late. Please believe me. What I wrote in this letter is true. I hope you could find it in your heart to forgive me.

Also.
The first letters of the letter. Focus on them. Airhead

Yours Truly
 Your Drew.

May just stared. It was too much to process in.

"May!" Harley called out to her as Soledad and he ran towards her.

"May, Drew's will..... it includes your name! You own 3 hayden mansions now!! And damn this mansion too!!! Isn't it exciting!?" Harley exclaimed, being harley. Soledad sighed. She couldn't blame him. He was just trying to lighten the mood.

"May... You okay?" Soledad asked, glancing at the letters she was holding.

"Yeah. I am fine!" She said with a smile, tears shine in her eyes. But she tilted her head cutely with a bright smile on her face. The three just stared at her. "Soledad.... Harley.... I need your help with something." She said looking at the two, who nodded in return.

"Whatever you say May." they replied

"Roserade, bring that file, you know, the one with a sticker scratched up. Also bring Drew's pokemon to me. And if his brother had some, get them here too." She requested. Roserade nodded and left. May took her phone out.

"I would need help for this." She said, messaging Ash, Misty, Dawn, Brock and other of her friends. Even Max and her family

A year passed

May turned all the hayden mansions into 'Dream Chasing Centers' Where kids of all age would come, learn about pokemon contests, gyms, pokemon rangers and what not.  The ones who wanted to be a pokemon trainer were taught by Norman, Max, Misty, Paul and sometimes even Ash. The Pokemon rangers would come to help the kids. Coordinating was taught by soledad, dawn, May, harley.

Of course, they too had a life to live. So mainly the whole thing was taken care by Norman, Caroline and May Maple. With her friends coming in and helping her alternatively. One Mansion even had been converted to a foster home.

May glanced from the window. She was currently in Drew's room. With his letters in hands, she sighed.

A year passed and she still wasn't able to crack what Drew meant by first letters. Caroline entered the room

"Everything Okay sweetheart?"

May glanced at her mother. She nodded. But of course, her mother saw right through her.
"Missing him aren't you dear?" she said, taking a seat besides her.

"Yeah... sorta." She replied, glancing at the letter in her hands. "I still haven't got the message he sent to me Mom"

Caroline took the last letter. And then the whole bunch. May didn't want anyone to read it. But she knew her mother won't read it until she allows her too.

"All I see are those T's..." She said sighing.

"May dear, it's below the T's he wanted you to read." Caroline said, smiling to herself and handing her the letters.

"Huh?" May took it back and began reading. She blinked back tears when she saw the words.

"Drew....."
