I threw my gear on, the top glowing a bright blue. I fumbled with the buckles, but got them connected around my waist. I grabbed the plastic gun with two hands and pointed it at Steven.

"Put your hands up, you're under arrest!" I said jokingly. Steven chuckled, patting my head and waiting for our instructor to give us further instruction.

Hi. My name's May. I'm 11 years old, and I'm the Hoenn region Champion.

Usually the champion of any kind region is swamped with work. Battling, reviving, and sometimes paperwork from the government. You didn't think Champions had it that easy, right?

Anyway, my friend Steven Stone lied to people, saying I was sick and had to stay home today. Instead, we went around the region. Stopping for ramen, looking at lakes, and the last stop was at Main Event. We just finished playing some arcade games, and the last thing to do was play laser tag!

It sounds exciting! I've never done it. Steven claims he has though. He said he'll show me a secret hiding spot that you can shoot everyone from. Sounds fun!

I snapped back into reality as I heard a loud "GO!" from the green haired instructor.

"Follow me, May. I'll show you the place," Steven said, gesturing me to follow after him.

"Right," I nodded.

As I stepped in the room, different thoughts rushed in my head. It was so dark! I could barely see anything except a faint silhouette of Steven, and various colored lasers firing in every direction.

"This is the grand hiding spot?" I asked sarcastically. The blue-haired man nodded.

"Just come in this corner and you'll see, May. Trust me." he said.

I was confused. "And I'll see?" This man expects me to believe that? Oh well, not like I can run or anything. I sighed and stepped into the cramped corner. "What is i-?"

I was cut off by Steven's lips licking with mine.

Steven has tricked me! Oh, what a dummy!

After about 15 seconds of holding that kiss, we parted for oxygen. He gave a mischievous grin, shooting me.

After that, he ran off, giggling.

"Oh no you don't!" I said, dashing after the previous Champion.
