Palletshipping - Gary & Ash

A/N: One of my irl friends insists on calling this ship "Gash". Just thought that was kinda funny. She also named the one-shot.

Ash was back in Pallet Town during one of his between region breaks. He was excited to see all of his Pokémon back at Professor Oak's lab. He also was hoping to see Gary Oak. They hadn't talked in a while, and Ash was hoping that he'd be in town at the same time. Gary traveled a lot for his research work. Luckily for Ash, Gary was at the lab.

"Hey, Ashy-boy," Gary greeted him. "How is my little rival doing?"

"Hi, Gary! I'm doing great! How about you?" Ash said. He wasn't sure why, but he found himself being nervous around Gary. Gary smiled slightly.

"I'm doing fine. Got back from a trip to Sinnoh last week..."

After the lengthy discussion, Professor Oak showed up to take Ash to his Pokémon. Ash wanted to stay with Gary longer, but he also wanted to see his Pokémon.

"Smell ya later," said Gary as he walked away. Ash realized why he was always so nervous talking to him. Ash loved him.
