Chapter 1 (edited)
The plane ride was long and nasty, throwing up half of the time wasn't the finest experience either. Planes suck.
So does moving around a thousand miles away from your home. Yes, I and my family are moving from lovely tropical Alola to freezing Kanto. We don't even have proper coats, why, well because every store on a tropical Island sells Eskimo coats! Note the sarcasm.
"Do you think there'll be snow, I want to see snow." My excited mother's voice interrupted my thoughts. "What do you think Jady?" My mother called me by my nickname. "Hmm hmm." I nodded, frantically holding on to the armrests of my chair when the plane was landing. Why do landings need to be so scary! Also a little embarrassing, considering I was the only one in the plane who was so freaked by a landing.
I tensed up even more when I felt the plane wheels touching the ground causing the plane to shake. When we got the announcement to get our bags and exit the plane my arms and legs had transformed into jelly. My sweaty hands held on tight to the shoulder bag containing my poke balls. My dad ended up carrying my suitcase since he didn't trust my wobbly legs and didn't want either me to fall down the stairs, or me dropping my suitcase knocking other people off the stairs. Each of us only had one suitcase, the rest of our stuff shipped to our new home a few days earlier so all we had to do was unpack all the other boxes.
As we stepped off the plane a brisk air greeted us each of us could feel perfectly through our, at least, five layers of clothing. Shivering, we walked towards the airport building, sighing in happiness as the heated indoor air greeted us. Professor Oak arrived to pick us up, he found us and showed us to his jeep. My mother and I got comfortable on the backseat while my father sat in front with the professor. I leaned onto the window as my consciousness slid away as I fell asleep.
"Welcome to Pallet town." Prof. Oak said when we drove into the village, it looked nice here, a small town enveloped in nature where humans and pokemon thrive together in harmony. Like in Alola, there is a lot of friendly contact between people and pokemon and there was lots of nature. He pulled over in front of a farm like house in the outskirts of town, there would be plenty of space for all the pokemon to play. There even was a pond where my mom's primarina could swim, although I was not positive if it was part of the yard. "That building there is my lab." Prof. Oak said, referring to a modern-looking building in the distance. "Well, I guess I'll see you around town, I hope you can settle." Prof. Oak added when he finished helping us. "We will, thank you for everything Professor." My Mom responded. I made a polite nod and my dad granted him a Thumbs Up. We went inside the house to get a proper view, it was remarkably big. Since we used to live in a relatively minor residence in the middle of a city. I got the biggest bedroom too, the backyard was also massive. I rushed outside and let out all my pokemon.
My team (The picture in the high left corner are the partners) as you know, my partner is shiny eevee.
mom team, her partner is Lycanroc.
dad team, his partner is Decidueye
Both my parents used to be pretty good trainers but decided to settle down and start a family. Later they couldn't get away anymore because I decided to come around.
Instead of unpacking all the boxes, like was expected to, I chose to play in the backyard with Eevee, Vulpix, and Jangmo-o. They were all just so cute when they played. But all good things end. "Jade, I understand that you prefer to have fun in the new backyard, but those boxes in your new room won't unpack themselves." My mom yelled from a window, presumably my bedroom, since I had a view of the backyard. "Nooooooooo," I whined and attempted to make adorable Raichu eyes.
It didn't work, sadly, and I ended up unpacking all boxes, putting my things away and eating supper. By the time I finished, it was already dark. Nevertheless, I wanted to go out and play but I also just wanted to lie down on my bed and sleep my jetlag away for the next three days. I made the mistake of plopping down on my bed to think matters through, I ended up sleeping horizontally on my bed for nineteen hours. This caused my legs to feel stiff, and I had trouble getting up the next day.
"Good evening pudding," My dad greeted me. It was 6.30 p.m. and in a few hours we would eat dinner again and go back to bed. The jetlag had now fully kicked in, not only on me but also my pokemon who were dangling over the couch with no intention to move anytime soon. I felt a little hungry, but since we would eat dinner again soon I settled for a few berries and some toast. About 3 hours later, we all went to bed, again, and picked up another full night of hibernation.
After a few days, we all recovered from our jetlags and got life moving again. Instead of sleeping the hours away and staring at the tv, not being conscious of what's going on but just stare and blink once in a while.
My parents felt kind of bad I couldn't complete my adventure in Alola, so they both agreed I could start one here. As long as I could find someone trustworthy to join me. Otherwise, I wouldn't be allowed anywhere further than halfway to the next town. Everyone else in Pallet town who would go on a pokemon journey was 10-11 years old, while I would turn 15 in a few months. And I wasn't too keen on going on a journey with a kid.
My parents and I went to the lab before, there I met Professor Oak's grandson: Blue Oak. Cocky little brat, and Red, a great kid. He asked me a lot about what it was like, having a pokemon and going on a journey. I enthusiastically told him about how I got Eevee, the rest of my pokemon and the island trials in Alola. Listening to stories me and my parents told him got him even more hyped up for having a pokemon of his own. Professor Oak also studied at the Alolan Pokedex, with a Rotom embedding in it. This idea fascinated him and Rotom helped him finish the last parts of his own Kanto Pokedex.
I did some exploring of my own around Pallet town and just looked at some pokemon from the Kanto region. I went no further than they allowed me to and one day, this whole swarm of Pidgey caught my eye.
