Chapter 61: UB-Gluttony

The sun above the Alola region was high, burning just as brightly just like any ordinary day to bring light and heat not just to the islands, but part of the world as well. Everything appears to be fine, although it just doesn't appear to be in the most uptight places on earth. Cosmo Corporations on Ula'Ula island might appear as a normal day as usual, but in all serious terms, something strange was undergoing. The reports and readings of analysis on the ID3I were going out of control. Workers and scientists moved faster than five-lane highway traffic on a route in the USA, except here, everyone was bouncing off different directions instead of flowing in one particular path.

OZone summons his 10 admins for a private meeting of the highly concerning matter of overwhelming reports and "possible sightings" of the problem ahead. The admins even had their own duties but were forced to set aside those responsibilities and meet up.

"What the hell is going on-??" Tony rested his feet on the meeting table, impatiently waiting for OZone and Arc to show up. Everyone was just as uneasy as the music-driven man of the group, but some were taking it harder than others.

"I-I don't know... You-you don't think-any of this involves... "the creature" do any of you think..?" Mitsuki had to be the one who was the most shaken by anything involving the ID3I and is for good reason. Since she had an awful encounter with the unidentified creature that resembled closely to a Frillish. Files and low-quality recordings of the disaster have been kept under high security so none of it leaks out to the public, but now that more conflict arises, Mitsuki felt like she can barely breathe property. But back-pats from Serenity somewhat helped her ease her mind a little bit.

"Just where are OZone and Arc? It's not like they have anything more important than the possibility of the building to go down to the freaking ground!" Daichi panicked just as much as the others, but Rōzu urge to keep his cool by holding him in place with the assistance of Molly and Poipole.

"Am I the only one feeling off edge about all of the alarms going off simultaneously?" Buzz slowly rested his upper body on the table after feeling so queasy from the nonstop commotion that was going on behind the door of the meeting room, and of course the sound of the emergency sirens that were going on in the inside of the corporation. Cypher wasn't bothered by the craziness probably because he isn't the guy to be phased by anything really. He noticed Belle sitting right next to him, so he asked if everything was okay.

"Is everything okay, Belle? You're getting paler as time goes on."

"M-Me-? Oh no, no, no! It's okay! I'm fine really! It's just that... umm... does anyone know exactly what we're dealing with here?"

Just before anyone could answer with their possibilities, that's when OZone and his second in command Arc stepped into the room, the boss of the entire building and staff stepped forward to the projector, as everyone else took their seat. There were questions the rest of the admins stormed up, but they were kept to themselves because OZone had no time for slowdowns, so he began with the urgent news.

"Everyone. Thank you for gathering under short notice. We have much to discuss over the current matters," Turning on a projector towards an open screen, OZone displayed slides of graphs, scales, and other important readings on the disruptive matter. Despite the helpful information, not anyone really understood what was the exact cause of the abnormal force that's causing such a disturbance, all but one other person inside the meeting room. Serenity raised her hand, politely pausing OZone's statement.

"If I may, with your notes in mind, might this be the cause of... The strange creature we encountered previously?"

It wasn't a convincing answer, or one anyone wanted to be reminded of but wasn't the case judging by the lack of change in OZone's stone-cold stare.

"No," The correct answer caused everyone to shudder, even Cypher felt uneasy hearing all this talk about the proof of existence extraterrestrial lifeforms existing. "Something, much, much bigger can cause everything to quake. The walls, the ceiling, even the teeth in your mouth. Needless to say, the following audio of the ID3I caught is highly classified information that is NOT to be leaked to the public. The behavior for such acts will not be tolerated in my presence. Lastly if you do not wish to see what we're up against. Leave now."

OZone eyes Molly, which Poipole sat close to her, knowing that she didn't really didn't have a choice of staying or leaving. He wasn't showing any mercy even for the youngest person among the admins. One click of a button later, a horrible screech echoed through the room, forcing everyone to stuff their ears shut with their hands to prevent as much sound from damaging their ears as possible. OZone wasn't kidding around when he said they were dealing with something so big. The audio was buggy and static, but whatever was making such a racket sounded super aggressive with such a demonic growl. The audio paused, the man upfront sighed.

"Obviously, leaving this unidentified creature alone can't be an option. With the I3DI running, there is a concerning chance that the creature can stumble into our world before we have a chance to "contain" this beast. So I have come to the conclusion and to capture this beast."

Everyone but two figures gasp, knowing something that big would probably result in anything but a peaceful trip or return. OZone explains how he will be back as soon as possible just in case the I3DI malfunctions under any situation. That's when OZone took out a large case, pulling out what looks like to be a cybernetic Pokéball.

"Thanks to Molly and her well-crafted capturing formula, Cosmo Corporations has developed the Pokéball that will ensure the capture of this unclassified beast."

Belle looks at the other admins, she already had major concerns about these... unique Pokéballs.

"Umm, sir... Are you sure that will capture the raging beast?..."

OZone answers that it will. Not even hesitating with uncertainty.

"Of course. I know they will work. The Beast Ball's technology to specifically capture these extraterrestrial monsters will result only in success."

Daichi and Rōzu look at one another in an odd way, before asking for the name OZone had given the Pokéball

"Umm... The Beast Ball is it?"

Rōzu asked with a face that he wasn't exactly faun with the name, but it wasn't the most important aspect they should be dealing with.

"I wanted to name it an Ultra Ball, but that name is already taken."

Arc stood in front of his boss and assigned the admins with duties while they were gone.

"If there aren't any more questions, OZone has assigned you all specific areas within the building to help out the rest of the workers to solve the following issues they have. We expect you to complete your duties without any hesitation. We will be off now."

Arc and OZone headed out, Buzz was surprised to hear Arc was tagging along with OZone instead of staying back and to supervise.

"Wait! Wait! Wait! Are you going with OZone? You aren't at all concerned about this beast?"

Arc gave him a cold look as he does to everyone, and grunted, not even responding to the bug-obsessed scientist.

"Just make sure we get everything done. I mean EVERYTHING. As for you particular 'children' I don't want any excuses as to why you can't handle your task even a Primeape could handle."

Molly knew he was referring to her, so she pouts a big look on her face, while Pippie looked at her, Daichi and Rōzu sharing a look that shows you that they didn't take his insult seriously. After OZone and Arc left the room, everyone followed to travel through the building to complete their assigned tasks.

The two highest rank men traveled towards the room with the I3DI, they packed their gear and opened an Ultra Wormhole with the machine and stepped in. They had no fear of what they were going up against, but they also knew there was no turning back.

Taking the first step into a strange new world, OZone and Arc were hit with the dense condition of the air. It wasn't natural air, clean, it was hard to breathe. Thankfully, the two had come prepared in case they traveled into an ultra-world where the air wasn't safe at all to take in, let alone the difficulty to breathe. Both men strapped on enhanced safety glasses that provided clean air and protected them from low-level toxicity threats. The air provided wasn't an unlimited supply, so they had to set forth immediately, but three minutes after traveling towards the area of scrap metal clashing, grinding, and banging, they heard a voice calling out from the distance.

"Excuse me! Excuse me, wait! Have you finally returned from the previous planets??"

OZone and Arc immediately turned around to the voice approaching them, standing in a position that was ready to counter an attack, but a man in a really strange hazard suit approached them in a relieving manner.

"It's so good to see people back into our home! I'm sure if we gather more returning residents, we can restore our world of what it once was-"

OZone alone was caught off guard to see that they weren't the only signs of intelligent signs of life besides the beast that was making such a ruckus in their world.

"Umm... No. We aren't from here."

The boss shook his head, the strange man put his head down in disappointment.

"O-oh... I understand. I'm sorry for jumping into conclusions like that," This man sounded welcoming, although came out as needy, but he was still welcoming the two with open arms.

"Please, make yourselves a home. Things might look-uhh... A bit of a disaster, but ever since Mr. Glutton has nested itself in our presence, The population has decreased drastically."

Arc took notes of everything the deserted man was saying, how there's an entire civilization of "other life" existing in their universe, and then there is talk about this Glutton. Which is the cause of the land left in ruins and why this civilization has been left behind.

"You speak of a beast, I presume? You don't mind if we take it off of your hands so we may... Help you restore your lost home?"

Arc asked the man in a manner that was relatively kind he had treated compared to the other workers and admins, just as much as he would treat his own boss.

"Oh yeah! Without Mr. Glutton's endless destruction of our city, I might just be able to restore it if I can convince my kind that there is a chance to return back to our normal lives! You sir, would-be heroes!"

The man perks up, hearing that the problem involving this beast might come to an end, but Arc really didn't care about the conditions of the man or his home.

"Yes, it would. Would you be kind to show us where this beast might be?"

"If you're as brave standing up to Mr. Glutton as you currently are, I have no choice but to guide you to it, my heroes!"

The man takes the lead, very hopeful and cheery to hear that Mr. Gluttony's tyrannical conflict might just come to an end. He seemed to walk in a similar manner a child would make on a nice afternoon stroll enjoying an ice cream cone. The childish movement made Arc growl under his lips, but he tried to conceal them from barking any criticism. The man was in joy because his home was in ruin for who knows how long, so he was reasonably happy to see the long wait had paid off.

OZone noticed Arc biting his own tongue, but he also saw the overjoyed man, so he knew why his 2nd in command disapproved of the walk alone.

"So..." OZone drowned himself to start a conversation, although he didn't have many topic starters to go on about in their current situation in an air polluted world inhabited by an Ultra Beast. OZone wasn't really anyone to go on about a casual conversation anyway, since he usually centers his priorities and attention towards the workplace. "Have you... Made peace with... The younger admins by any chance?"

Arc was kind enough to let OZone speak about his relationship with Molly and the boys, but his answer wasn't as such. The grouchy man huffed as if OZone was telling a funny joke.

"Younger admins? You aren't possibly referring to those brats who can't handle a simple task without excessive excuses and attitude. I'm afraid I haven't been pleasing you with my progress."

Then Arc sounds like he had something on his mind in regards.

"You are a brilliant boss, a man who can intimidate those around you. An inspiration if I may speak myself so truly. Unfortunately, I still don't understand why you keep mere infants to be responsible with tasks involving extraterrestrial beasts to a girl who mistakes machinery to access data and a passageway to other worlds as a toy. Molly is a piece of shit, sir. Daichi and Rōzu are two separate puddles of piss."

Despite feeling good to openly vent, OZone did not approve of the unprofessional language between colleagues. He wasn't angry with Arc, but he was now suddenly curious. Arc had beef with the kids, but what was the cause of all of this? Why does he have such high criticism towards them in comparison to everyone else?

"... Let me ask you. Did they... do anything to give them such a cold treatment?"

"No." Arc answered honestly.

"Then why do you hate them so much?"

Arc paused, before groaning now knowing he has to get to the bottom of the issue. The men resumed walking, there wasn't any time to stop and to talk this out.

"Have you noticed how the rest of the group manage to get their assorted duties done but the specific three are always behind for unbelievable reasons? They're still at an age where their pathetic minds will wander off with their own interests, and they have the moronic philosophy that if something is boring, they choose not to do it. It's simple thoughts like that make me really mad because that's NOT how it WORKS."

The longer he went on, Arc's head began to boil blood. OZone decided not to criticize or talk down to the admin, but to accept his impression and his experiences, so asked a question.

"You don't see all children like that, do you?"

The grumpy man nods. "Yes. I do. Teenagers are no exception. Did you know they're the reason why I was once renowned as a failure in my life because of such immature shit-wipes??"

That part actually did surprise OZone because it was never something he actually shared.

"You-? A failure? I can never imagine you as a disappointing person Arc, your work and accomplishments on your resume are unmatched-"

For once in his life, he cuts OZone off of what he was saying, so he could explain himself. He didn't lie on his resume, he wasn't bullshitting either, but there was something that had to be said.

"I'm not saying there was a time where I was a failure. I speak of a time where I have been branded as one. Grouped with real pathetic individuals known as teenagers." Arc's fist tightens as he resumes the thought in his head.

"It was back in college. I was nearly a perfect student. No one could match wits against me. No need to concern yourself, sir. During my second last semester, I worked in a group that I ended up doing all the work in. My team did nothing to benefit our project in Pokémon Biology, and my team decides to fuck up the presentation on purpose, just to piss me off."

Still moving past the destroyed buildings, past the steel yards with gigantic bite marks chewed, Arc wasn't thrown off by the warnings that this beast was capable of ripping through thick buildings of metal with its very jaws. He was way too invested in the flames of his own mind, not only those lazy teens drove him crazy on the presentation, but his final semester involved them teasing him about it, causing the rest of the successful students and the professors stress and agony.

"Like the brats in Cosmo Corporations, those assholes never did any work on their own, but graduated anyway, cheating their own education, cheating their own success. It's sickening."

OZone looks down, feeling bad that he had a rough end in his time in college, but Arc snickered, saying not to worry about it since it went well in the end.

"My graduation celebration took place at the top of a cliff side on Melemele, and it went on until dark. The group lurked around me when I wished for some peace and quiet. On the cliff."

Arc had a devious smile, but OZone wasn't quite sure what Arc was so smug about. The two men and the mysterious man stopped, they arrived where the beast was over a block away. The sound of banging metal and chomping boomed through the area, almost like a dumpster with loads of trucks to dispose of garbage. The sound alone could scare anyone, even OZone was a bit uneasy to hear stomping and aggressive eating, but that's when Arc just wrapped up his story, looking at his most trusted worker in a whole new manner.

"I suppose you could say, they sat on the very wall of the cliff. And then, as the nursery rhyme goes, they had a great big fall."

"Arc... You-you didn't push them, did you?"

"Of course I did. What could teenagers who spent their time harassing others contribute to society?"

Before his boss could talk about the crime he got away with, the building above creaked very loudly before it began to tilt towards the ground, right in front of the men. Quickly, Arc sends out his Alakazam, using Psychic in the knick time to move out of the way of the tumbling building. A giant black beast came crashing through the weak buildings, attracted to the noise of chatting, and it looked hungry.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!"

It's haunting roar was a thousand times worse than what was recorded earlier, but it was now time to battle! The mysterious man took cover, OZone took out a Pokéball which sent out Incineroar, but before anyone could move, this beast's aura flared to life! It's power rose in the process.

"Hold the fuck up! The Ultra Beasts can enhance their power through aura just like Totem Pokémon?? This ain't going to be easy!"

"No worries, sir. Alakazam has finally found itself a worthy opponent."

Arc stood in front of the screeching beast, he wasn't intimidated at all, almost felt like he was fantasizing about capturing this beast for his own benefit right next to his dedicating research. It was a large beast, an intimidating one at that, it felt like the perfect match for him. So he made his before it did.

"Alakazam, Psychic."

Zooming into a position where the beast couldn't reach it, the intelligent Pokémon tried to attack with its incredible psychic power, but nothing happened. Which meant it must've had an immunity over the typing, meaning that it was a Dark type.

"I got this too, Ark! Incineroar! Cross Chop!"

The tiger Pokémon charged straight through with little regard for its own safety, and landed a double chop that only made the big beast squeal in rage.

"AAAAARREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHH!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!""

Stomping on the ground in retaliation, Incinaroar took an effective hit from the Ground-Type move made OZone keep his distance in case if the beast decides to charge at his direction unexpectedly.

Arc's Pokémon took no damage since it was hovering above the ground, so he switched gears quickly.

"Focus Blast, stay in the air."

Keeping a safe distance, Alakazama focused a ball of energy that launched like a cannonball and hit the beast pretty badly. It tried to shoot the Pokémon down with a Sludge Bomb, but Alakazam was too quick to be hit.

"Sap its energy Incineroar! Leech Life!"

Taking a bite of the beast stole its energy, even refueling after the big hit from its Stomping Tantrum. The beast tried to land a Crunch on the tiger Pokémon, but managed to avoid right before it landed its hit. Next, Alakazam landed a Focus Blast, which knocked the beast down in exhaustion from taking way too many Fighting-Type moves in one go. That's when Arc took out a Beast Ball, and prepared to capture the monster.

"Your capture formula better be correct, Molly. Or else. Go, Beast Ball!" Tossing the device on the beast, it sucked it right in just like an ordinary Pokéball. Several shakes later, thinking the ball would release the beast back, it clicked confirming the beast was caught.

"... It is done..."

OZone sighed as he returned his Incineroar into its Pokéball, Arc did the same with his own Pokémon. Not only capturing one of the many beasts for OZone's true intentions, but they freed a world where that monster roamed around causing destruction in its wake. The mysterious man cheered with glee, he shook the men's hands right before he set off to wherever his kind had relocated to for the good news. With their objective completed in success, OZone and Arc had returned back to their own world, closing the portal of the I3DI.

A couple of days had passed by since the big incident involving the trouble with the giant beast. The condition and workers may now be under control, OZone calls in everyone to inform them that the Beast Ball is a success. Molly was even given credit for her successful formula for the capturing device. The admins even applauded the girl for her achievement, but the little girl's attention pointed towards Arc himself.

"You hear that Arc? I told you I'm not a useless brat like you're always telling me!"

Molly stuck her tongue at the man to show her she had some redemption to her while she expected the man to go berserk while OZone tells him to calm down. Instead, the man smiles at her. Coming from someone like him, it wasn't anything to feel safe around.

"You're right, Molly. I thought you were nothing but a joke, but you proved me wrong. Thanks to your incredible Beast Ball formula, I managed to capture the Ultra Beast under MY command. Say hello to UB-Gluttony!"

Sending out the Pokémon with the haunting roar, Arc was sure that he scared Molly, even scaring Daichi and Rōzu in the process. Mission accomplished.
