Chapter 54: Ten-hut! First and Last Day of Boot camp!

Shortly after the day at Cosmos Corporation had ended, OZone's perspective on the Ultra Beasts and the method of bringing his long-missed boss of Team Galactic back from the forgotten dimension have changed. Those beasts aren't any different from the Pokémon that have existed with humans as far as time can take them back. OZone now shall harness the incredible power of these beasts, defeat the enigma known as Necrozma, then shall search the Reverse World far and wide, knowing that Cyrus still lives.

Plans were set into construction and employees and admins at full gear, the corporation set off into maximum effort to please the man who runs the entire building. Ula'ula Island sure was being rowdy today in the Alola region, but Melemele in comparison was still in bed resting, or at least up for the morning.

The mornings for Ash and his Pokémon were pretty carefree since Professor Kukui is already up for. With the unexpected guests sleeping in, getting ready for a day of school was like trying to keep a live bomb from waking up only to explode and destroy a fourth of the planet. For the very first time in his life, Ash had to stop carefully to think before he does. He had to enjoy his breakfast quietly not to disturb, and he slips on his daily wear without making too many thumping noises or hard floor-creaking steps when doing so. He nearly left out to school until Rotomdex stops him from doing so.

"But wait, Ash! You can't leave the two all alone for the day can you?"

So Ash ended up carrying both Pokémon and his Rowlett to school, which wasn't hard at all since the two don't weigh anything at all.

Shortly after arriving at the Pokémon School, everyone in his class gathered around the sleeping creatures, all studying the never before seen species.

"And then Tapu Koko decided to entrust me with them, and then here we are!"

Ash sat at his desk with a troubled face, he didn't have many reasons why the guardian of Melemele ends ups electing him to watch the two newborn Pokémon. He slumped on his seat like a troubled teenager or student, but the others couldn't take their eyes off of them, they were very fluffy and very cute.

"Tapu Koko sure does like you a lot Ash. You're also very trustworthy," Kaiwe walked right next to Ash, patting his back for friendly support. "Plus, you're a fun guy to be around." He felt himself scratching his back after complimenting Ash so awkwardly, but he meant it.

Ash straightened his back after hearing Kiawe's compliments, he wasn't sure what he was up to when saying that, but those words passed out some possible ideas around.

"I think Kiawe's right, you aren't like anyone I've ever met." Lillie saying that meant Ash was a... very unique person, as one in a hundred thousand or so, maybe a million. Tapu Koko must have entrusted Ash not only for his quirkiness but for his strength as a Pokémon Trainer. Still, it was a shot in the dark, but it was the answer everyone seemed to like.

"But... What exactly are they..?"

Mallow looked closely at the two sleeping clouds of space dust that still slept through the morning.

"Hey Rotom, do ya think we can pick up anything from your data?"

Sophocles jumped in the air and grabbed the floating device to see if they can discover anything through the device that was designed for the discovery of Pokémon. There weren't any search results in regards, so it didn't work.

"How can zzzzzis be?! I couldn't find any data in my system...?!"

Not being able to record the data of a new Pokémon was like traveling to a new region and learning the wrong to understand everything. For the Pokédex, it felt like a massive failure.

"I'm zzzso zzzzzzzorry everyone..."

"Not even Rotomdex has anything useful?! This is bad... We the people have the mental capacity to invent a living Pokédex, but we struggle to identify a newly discovered creature?! Does anyone have any leads on this Pokémon?!"

Sophocles flopped his arms in the air, then ruffled his air, the first one to cool on the mystery on the sleeping Pokémon, so did Ash, but that wasn't a big surprise.

"Sophocles! You outta know something about them?? Do you?? PLEASE TELL ME!"

Now things were starting to get ridiculous, Mallow, Kiawe, Lana, and Lillie trying to stop Ash from shaking Sophocles to death, while Saki stood on the side, getting an eyeful of early morning school drama.

"Guys... Is it really even a big deal?"

"YES!"

She quietly asked, getting a loud answer from her piers.

The only one in the classroom who wasn't moving in any motion was Bob. It seemed like he was lost in deep through. He had that look on his face as if he had the answer to the entire mystery.

Ash, Mallow, then the rest of the class were caught in the gaze, he had to know something!

"Bob...? Is everything okay?"

Mallow tilted her head, she took a step only to trip on her face and startle the poor Pokémon up from their nap, alarmed by gently floating down from the ceiling where they leaped in terror.

"PEW PEW PEW!!"

"Peeeeeeeeeew...-"

That's when it hit him, Bob leaped in the air as if he had made a majority important discovery, one that would require the national news to cover a report on.

"I got! Cosmog! That-these are Cosmog!"

There we go, the finger-pointing and the hoping that was missing. Bob knew he wasn't crazy, he actually heard of these Pokémon before!

"Cos-smog?"

Kiawe took a closer look at the two Cosmogs, which look at him innocently.

"Peeeeew? Peeeeew?"

Bob went right back to explaining how the learned of their name because the Pokémon fit the same description of the tales informed by Hala. Bob held the two Pokémon, which started to giggle like babies.

"Cosmogs are offsprings, and they're so rare, only royalty like princes and princesses are known to have them!"

It'd be a lie if Bob didn't say he felt like a genius to be the only one to know about the existence of Cosmogs. The Pokémon was very cute, not too mention fluffy, it didn't take too long before the two were really settled.

"Pew! Pew! Pew!"

"Bibby-boo is right! They are really cute!"

Lana held of the Pokémon, which giggled some more. The laughter in the air was contagious, so much, everyone began to laugh. Saki was the last to give in, but she did admit she was glad to do so.

"We should them some nicknames shouldn't we?"

She asked, everyone, perking up in agreement. Some suggestions went up in the air, but there was always a shot-down tho.

"Vanessa and Billy?"

"No."

"Happy and Sweetie?"

"Nah, too cheesy."

"Hana and Kat?"

"... What?"

A quiet gap filled the air, no one wanted to speak, cause no one wanted their ideas or feelings to be shot down. Lillie stood up from her seat and one more name suggestion.

"How bout... Nebby? and... Bebe..?"

A little thought went into the minds and turns out, everyone like that.

"Nebby actually has a nice ring to it. Bebe is also great. Awesome job Lillie."

Mallow hugged the shy girl, who kept her hands behind her back with a major blush. She also had something else to say about the names.

"T-thank you! I thought Nebby would be a really cute way to name after their fluffy cloud bodies after a nebula. And Bebe is also a name referring to baby..."

Her blush brightens, so the Cosmogs have been officially named Bebe and Nebby! Everybody had a light chuckle right after a voice boomed from the entrance upfront. A familiar voice turned to a recognized face.

"Good morning class of Professor Kukui."

Everyone was a tad surprised to see that it was Blaze coming through the entrance, but Kiawe had his jaw hanging down to some. The girl walks toward the professor's desk as if she had news to new to inform the class.

"As most of you are aware, your teacher isn't available right now, he has some "things'' he needed to complete with the help of professor Brunet. So for today, I shall be your teacher."

Was Blaze being serious? She was going to be the substitute teacher for the day? So many questions were bubbling the class as they gave each other different looks, but Kiawe's brain ran on like static on your tv.

"You... The teacher...? Blaze... Please tell me you're joking..."

Kiawe heavily questions, not because he doesn't like Blaze, but... as you may well know, the girl with a burning passion of the art of dance can be summed up as a handful.

"I think Kiawe is broken guys."

Sophocles poked his friend's arm, but he didn't flinch, no movement whatsoever.

"I'm not the type of girl to make jokes Kiawe. You know that. Now, stand straight! Arms to the sides and walk in a single-file line outside. We're going on a class field trip!"

The girl stood right next to the entrance of the classroom, all the students but the girl who doesn't take all orders had their arms straight and headed out. Ash had his hands full holding both Bebe and Nebby, which made the substitute teacher curious about the creatures.

"Hey, Ash. What are those Pokémon you have there?"

On the way to the destination Blaze led the students, Ash happily informed that these two were very rare Pokémon that were given by Tapu Koko. Mentioning that did make the girl remember hearing that the island deity having an odd interest to the foreigner, but to her, Ash didn't look anything special. Everyone but Kiawe was on board of Blaze leading the class for the day. Deep down, he had a burden of a feeling he exactly knew what he was in for.

"Kiawe can we talk for a second? Ever since Blaze stepped into the classroom, you've been on the edge. What's the matter?"

Mallow and the girls tried cheering Kiawe up talking about what was flustering him so bad.

"... Its nothing really. Although I outta warn you that she has something brewing up inside that head of hers. I can sense it coming."

The boy strangely warns the girls, but they felt like whatever it may be, they were certain that they could handle it.

"Don't worry about us Kiawe, we can handle anything as long as we're all together!"

Lana poses like Rosie the Riveter, Mallow winks her signature smile at this point, and Lillie smiles sweetly, which seemed to do the trick. Saki turned around to hear even she was in on the girl's silly way to let the boy know he wasn't alone.

"No Worries, Kiawe. I'm here too."

Blaze lead the kids into the forest of Melemele, in an open grassy area surrounded by the trees.

"Yes, yes, yes! We're here! At least."

Blaze twirls around in the open, all the students wondering what was the plan of bringing them into the forest. You see, she was carrying a bag. Nobody knew exactly what the bad held, she reached her hand into the bag, taking out a speaker that connects to a cell phone and plugs it in.

"Oh... Blaze... Please don't..."

Kiawe sounded as if he was breathing his last breath before death hit him, which only made the girl's eye sparkle with a glare.

"Class is in session, children. Today I will be evaluating your passion and skill in the art I take by my heart. Dance."

The other kids caught what she said last, but... The had questions. Ash raised his hand, nobody expecting the substitute's answer.

"Umm... Dance?"

"Yes. You ladies will be practicing ballet, gentlemen, you'll be performing a square-dance, practicing order and attention."

The boys but Kiawe jumped, the boy instead digs his face into his hand feeling very embarrassed for Blaze's show of confidence. From there, the boys were first to perform and practice. Blaze sets a western hoedown on the speakers the boys were forced to get into positions in which Blaze herself coordinated. She shouts commands but she didn't get the best of responses both physically and in answer.

"Left, left, right, right, spin, spin, rotate!"

"What's the difference between spin and rotate??"

"Spin is the twist of the body in a whole circle, and rotate is it take the place of the person right next of you! Let's move it! Come on! Faster, you can do it faster!"

"I don't know this is so new to meeee!"

"Get used to it boys! Spin, spin, Rotate!"

"I'm-I'm getting cramps! It huuuuurts!"

"Pain, no game Ash!"

"The song was over, Sophocles, Bob, and Ash tumbled on top of each other from exhaustion.

"I... I thought it wouldn't ever end."

Bob panted breath after breath, Sophocles too tired to move his face that was literally planted onto the ground, Ash rolls onto his back on top of the pile and nods.

"But... But we did it!... yay..."

Kiawe stood unlike the other boys because he was used to the fast and exhausting sport of dance, especially with someone like Blaze. On the other side, the girls clapped to encourage the boys, not to embarrass them.

"Good job guys! That was awesome!"

Mallow clapped, Lana looks like she had just seen inspiring art. So she joins in the clapping.

"Beautiful gentlemen!"

Now it was the girl's turn, the song changes into a soothing song to twirl to on a large theater stage. Unlike like before, instead of yelling commands and moves, Blaze joins in showing the girls how to properly perform in the art of ballet. Well, at least three of did... Saki... Didn't follow.

The substitute gets an eyeful of Saki's look on her face, not pleased for standing without following dance instructions.

"Why aren't you following my instructions?"

She bluntly asked, trying to intimidate the girl who stood with her own glare, the same one that works with her classmates.

"I'm not dancing."

Saki doesn't move, her hands on her sides now folded in front of her, Blaze wasn't taking that lightly. She walked up to her and started circling the brave child. In reality tho, she didn't care what her substitute was up to.

"I'll have you know, Saki. That wasn't a request. It was an order. I will not stand here and be ignored. Now get in position."

Her friends could do nothing at this point but watch the rising conflict that was with the girl with a feisty attitude and the other girl who'd act dignified but to Saki herself, she didn't want to act so degrading by twirling around and dancing in a girlish formation.

"And I'll tell you that I don't care. I'm not spinning around like an idiot."

"An... IDIOT?!"

Kiawe was in the back of the group who watched, his face flushed from the monster Saki had left out. Be prepared, Blaze is going to release the phoenix from within.

"Saki, I'll have you know dancing is MORE than the movement of the feet and body. It's art! It's magic! A passion where music brings out the best of you! You follow the flow of it!"

Now setting a song you'd hear on the grand stage set on her phone, she began to SHOW how it's done. Blaze did more than twirl around, she moved up and down, she wasn't afraid to hold anything back. Her movement was outstanding, left the boys but Kiawe speechless. But she stopped as soon as the song did, she caught her breath after proving her point, but Saki wasn't impressed or impressed.

"You done yet?"

Saki asked as her dancing was an inconvenience to something actually important, but that, THAT really did set her off.

"You... DIDN'T JUST SAY THAT!"

Kiawe held Blaze's arm before she could show Saki something they both really would regret.

"Blaze, Blaze, please! Stop! This is ridiculous!"

The girl wouldn't stop thrashing her free arm towards Saki, who really wasn't at all phased from her sense of anger. She's been through worse.

"Let go of me at once! I won't stand to her Saki call dancing a joke! Being called as such!"

Half a minute consisted of her raging towards the girl until someone from the group witnessing the entire struggle to prove something had an idea. I'll give you one guess who suggested such an idea.

"Why don't you two settle this with a Pokémon battle?"

Ash raised his arms to calm Blaze down, which sounds like a decent idea to everyone.

"As long as we can take a break from class, then yes. Please have a battle."

Bob also had an eyeful of watching girls fight... with their issues.

"A... A Pokémon battle... Yes, if everyone is down for it, I'll show you that dance isn't as meaningless as you think of it! It's as beneficial in battle too!"

Blaze points at Saki dramatically as if her skill of dance was on the line. So far down that line, she felt like if she did lose, she'd give up for good, but really it was to pass the time with something more amusing to the class.

"Kay, if you said so."

Saki REALLY didn't care what she had to say, so she went off a short distance from Blaze to start their Pokémon battle, just glad Blaze isn't attempting to beat her down, because it was very uncomfortable for everyone.

"Alright Akemi, show them just how strong you've become."

Saki's Mimikyu stood right behind her foot, so into a formation of battle it stood in front of the girl. Blaze was still as hotheaded as ever, taking out a Pokéball of her own, she took a massive arm swing doing so. A sharp, talented trainer such as Ash could tell that she wasn't to be playing around. A small red and black bird comes right out, it swings its wings in position, keeping an eye out for its opponent.

"If I can't get my message into your thick head, then I'll have Oricorio teach your Mimikyu the way of dance. In battle."

Ash perks up, recognizing the bird, but its color differs from the one he remembered fighting.

"Oh! It's an Oricorio! But what happened to its yellow feathers?"

Rotomdex floated behind the trainer and informed him that Oricorio is a Pokémon that has a different form for each island in the Alola region. The one he recognized is the Pom Pom form, which is from Melemele, Blaze's Oriocorio is a Baile form, which is from Ula'Ula Island. Now that a refresher has been covered, it was time to get started!

"Watch and learn everyone! I'm going to win this just like that. Use Play Rough!"

Akemi leaped from the ground and went after the bird Pokémon like a seeking missile, but Oricorio managed to dodge the Fairy attack, quite easy to add.

"Just like that, you really must think I'm a fool Saki. Acrobatics."

A second after given its first command, Oricorio struck Akemi with fast attacks which luckily only knocked down its Disguise from any serious damage.

"Don't waste your breath, clearly you're the one underestimating me. Now Thunderbolt!"

A powerful Thunderbolt was hit after Oriciorio tried retreating from its own attack, but it failed to cover ground, suffering a super-effective hit. This did not please Blaze, only causing her to stomp her foot to best vent herself from rage.

"Shut up! Shut up! Air Cutter!"

Now whipping up a gust of razor-sharp wind, Mimikyu was caught taking a small hit in comparison to what it has taken before. Saki could tell it was okay, so she wasn't afraid to try her attack again.

"Use Play Rough!"

Now scurrying forward, Mimikyu landed a massive hit of physical affection, Oricorio took some damage, but its typing reduced it by a bit. Blaze smirked, Akemi was close, it was now time for revenge. The perfect chance to attack. But Blaze's next seemed more than just an attack, she twirled just like she's done this entire time during the day of class, which also threw Saki off just a tad.

"Umm..."

"And now! Behold the fans that flame art! Revelation Dance!"

Oricorio began to dance within a circle with a delightful spin to go with its passion, the edges of its wings began to light a flame, it was a beautiful sight. The class gasped to see such a marvelous way to create fire. Several flaps of its wings sent a large wave of fire to be hurled at Akemi, taking its turn of insufferable damage. It flopped to the ground, the girl now clenched her teeth after pulling a card to win the crowd to dance. But wouldn't admit anything to the demanding likes of Blaze, so she kept going.

"Don't give up! we're almost there! Shadow Claw!"

Slashing Oricorio, Blaze had it retaliate with the Acrobatics, both Pokémon whittling each other down, until they both decided to pull out their last move to decide the winner.

"Thunderbolt!"

"Revelation Dance!"

Both Pokémon charged up their attacks, shot with great force, both surprisingly landing followed by an explosion of black smoke. It was clear that both sides could resume fighting after that. It was a draw...

"So... That's it."

Mallow sighed, everyone around couldn't help themselves but to join her in her sense of relief. Kiawe surprisingly didn't take the biggest sigh of them all. In fact, he didn't breathe out, his eyes were on Blaze, wondering if she was going to take something as balancing as a draw in a fine lady fashion. She returns her Oriocorio into its Pokéball, then held her arms close like a hug without saying a word.

"Hey."

When she finally did look up, Saki returns Akemi into its own Pokéball to rest, she looked up, ready to have an ear of Blaze's thoughts of the match.

" ... I must say... That you're quite the trainer... I finally understand."

Saki expected an apology or even more lip out of her but wasn't expecting a learned lesson out of this, so didn't the class who still watched the girls from a short distance away.

"Umm... What?"

"I understand Saki, I understand that dancing isn't exactly your cup of tea, you aren't a very open person. But one thing for sure, deep down, you care deeply for Pokémon battles."

Blaze wasn't entirely wrong about Saki's developing interest in battles but wasn't moved by her words. The important thing that the dancing girl finally calmed down, burned out if that's what you want to say.

"Sure. Glad you see it that way."

Saki went along with Blaze's accommodation, even offering her hand to shake. Both girls accepted peace that was made, Lana smiled now that the conflict was now over.

"Look at the time! We better get going before school is over!"

Ash scooped up both Cosmogs and followed the rest of the students out of the forest and back to school before the bell rang.

Returning to Professor Kukui's place after school, he was eager to show the man his latest discovery of the rare Pokémon that was given to Tapu Koko. It took him the rest of the evening to fill him in, but Kukui was all caught up now! Shortly after, it was time to settle down with dinner! Everyone turned in for the night, both Cosmogs snuggled up with Ash, instantly sleeping before realizing it!
