Now that the mysterious GS Ball has been delivered to a Pokéball expect, our heroes are headed towards the Azalea Gym.

"Yuna, do you know what type of gym Azalea's gym is?" Mairin asked.

Yuna blinked, "Yes, it's Bug-type Gym." She replied.

"Oh, never seen a Bug-type gym before." Mairin said.

"True." Takato agreed.

"Alain has. I've read that Kalos has a Bug-type gym." Brock said.

Alain nodded, "Yeah. It was the second gym I had to challenge." He commented.

"Hey Yuna, what Pokémon are you going to use?" Mairin asked.

Yuna thought for a second, "Cyndaquil, Helios and Poseidon." She replied.

"Huh, Poseidon? Is he ready for gym battles?" Brock asked.

"He is. Don't forget that Poseidon had trained himself along with the others even when he isn't with me." Yuna responses, "Don't worry."

As they continued to walk, they reached the Azalea Gym, it looked like a giant green house.

"Looks like a green house." Yuna commented, "Wonder what the inside is like?"

"Let's go see." Alain said.

When the gang entered the gym, they could see trees, grass and bushes everywhere.

"Wow, looks like a forest." Mairin said.

"It even feels like a forest." Takato added.

"Reminds me of Viridian Forest back in Kanto." Yuna said.

"Makes sense. Since Bug-type live there and they are some here too." Alain pointed out.

The gang saw some Bug-type Pokémon; Caterpie, Metapod, Butterfree, Weedle, Kakuna and Beedrill.

"Yep, definitely like the Viridian Forest." Yuna said.

"Hello!" A thirteen year old boy with lavender hair, greeted them as he is walking up to them. "And welcome to the Azalea Gym, I'm Bugsy Tsukushi the Azalea Gym Leader."

"Oh, that's make it easy. I'm Yuna Ketchum and I would let to challenge you Bugsy for a Gym Badge." Yuna said.

Bugsy nodded, "I accept your challenge Yuna." He said, "Follow me, I'll take you to the field."

The gang followed Bugsy through the gym and they arrived at a battlefield that was in the centre of the gym.

"Wow." Mairin said.

"Since I use Bug-type Pokémon, I intended to make my gym like a forest." Bugsy stated.

"Makes sense. Gym Leaders like to make their gyms just right for whatever type of Pokémon they'll use." Brock said.

It was time for ether gym battle, Yuna and Bugsy stood on either side of the battlefield, while the rest of the gang stood behind Yuna.

"This offical Pokémon Battle between Bugsy Tsukushi the Azalea Town Gym Leader and Yuna Ketchum the Challenger from Pallet Town is about to begin." The referee announced, "Each Trainer may use three Pokémon. A Gym Badge is at stake. Are the trainers ready?"

"Yes."

"I am." Yuna said.

"Let the battle begin!" The referee announced.

"I'm going to start off with..." Bugsy held out a Pokéball, "I choose, Spinarak!" He sent out the string spit Pokémon.

"Spinarak!" The Pokémon appeared.

"I choose you, Cyndaquil!" Yuna sent out the fire mouse Pokémon.

"Cyndaquil!" The fire mouse Pokémon appeared ready.

"Just because you have a type advantage doesn't mean it's going to be easy." Bugsy said.

"I know that." Yuna said.

"Spinarak use Poison Sting!" Bugsy started off.

"Spin Spinarak!" The string spit Pokémon fires poisonous needles towards the fire mouse Pokémon.

"Dodge it and use Ember Cyndaquil." Yuna countered.

"Cyndaquil!" The fire mouse Pokémon jumped into the air to avoid the Poison Sting and she fires Ember attack.

"Spinarak use String Shot to dodge!" Spinarak fires a string of web towards a tree branch and it avoided the Ember attack. "Now use Night Shade!" It fires a Night Shade attack.

"Double Team!" Cyndaquil made multiple copies of herself, dodging the Night Shade attack, "Now use Flamethrower." The fire mouse Pokémon immediately launches a blast of flames towards the string spit Pokémon.

"Protect!" Spinarak brought up a green barrier around itself. "Electroweb!" The string spit Pokémon fires electricity web toward the fire mouse Pokémon.

"Protect." Cyndaquil brought up a green barrier around herself, the Electroweb disappeared as it hit the barrier. "Now Cyndaquil use Quick Attack and Flame Charge!"

"Cyndaquil!" The fire mouse Pokémon quickly charges towards Spinarak with her body blazing in flames and she quickly tackle the string spit Pokémon, knocking it down from the tree branch and burning itself body.

"Spinarak!" Bugsy gasped.

Spinarak collapsed onto the ground with swirling eyes.

"Spinarak is unable to battle! Cyndaquil wins!" The referee announced.

"Nice work!" Yuna smiled and she caught the fire mouse Pokémon who jumped into her arm.

"Cyndaquil!" Cyndaquil smiled.

Bugsy recalls back his unconscious Spinarak.

"One win for Yuna! / nee-chan!" Mairin and Takato high five each other.

"Pikapi!" Light cheered.

"You beat my first Pokémon but this one is going to be a lot harder." Bugsy stated, "Metapod, go!"

"Metapod." The cocoon Pokémon said, appearing.

"A Metaphod!?" Brock, Mairin and Takato exclaimed, shocked.

"What an interesting choice." Alain said.

Yuna returns back her fire mouse Pokémon, "I see, a Metapod... Poseidon, I choose you." She sent out the Johto Region Legendary Pokémon.

"Aaauuu~" Poseidon appeared.

Bugsy and referee gaped at the sight of the Legendary Pokémon on the field.

"Dear Arceus a Lugia. How have you gotten yourself a Lugia, one of the Legendary Pokémon of Johto?" Bugsy asked, flabbergasted.

"Um, I'll explain after the gym battle." Yuna replied.

"Go Poseidon! You can do it!" Mairin cheered.

"Pikapi!" Light cheered.

"Chespin!" Chespie cheered.

"Aaauu~~" Poseidon said, ready.

"Okay Metapod, Tackle that Lugia." Bugsy ordered.

"Metapod!" Metapod jumped to Tackle the young diving Pokémon.

"Fast!" Brock gaped.

"I see now." Alain said. "Bugsy must've trained that Metapod in speed and strength."

"Poseidon use Gust." Yuna said.

"Aaauuu!" Poseidon stood up on his legs and flapped his wings, performing a gust of wind towards the cocoon Pokémon.

"Meta Metapod!" Metapod lost its concentration and flew backwards.

"Wahh~ Poseidon sure gotten stronger." Mairin said.

"Yeah, even if he is still young. He is a Legendary Pokémon." Brock said.

"Nice." Yuna has a small smile, "Sunny Day."

Poseidon fires a white orb from his mouth into the sky, making the sun shine brighter than before.

"Oh." Alain said, understanding what's his girlfriend is planning.

"Huh?" Takato and Mairin said.

• • • • •

"Now Poseidon use Weather Ball." Poseidon opened his mouth and a red-orange ball of fire streaming around it, appeared, he fires it at the cocoon Pokémon.

"Metapod Metapod!" The cocoon Pokémon cried out in pain as the Weather Ball hits it.

"Oh, I see." Brock realise why Alain had a understanding face.

"Um? Little explanation." Mairin said.

"Weather Ball is normally a Normal-type attack but depending on the weather it can change its type." Alain explained.

Takato perked up, "So is that why nee-chan had Poseidon use Sunny Day. The bright sun made the Weather Ball attack turn into a Fire-type move." He said.

Brock nodded, "That's correct."

"Meta... Metapod..." Metapod was injured from the Weather Ball attack.

"End this with Iron Tail." Yuna said.

"Aauu!" The young diving Pokémon tail glowed metallic colour and he slammed his tail at the cocoon Pokémon who was sent backwards.

"Metapod!" Bugsy said.

"Metapod... ... ..." Metapod had swirling eyes, knocked out.

"Metapod is unable to battle! Lugia wins!" The referee announced.

"Yay! Poseidon won!" Mairin cheered.

"A great first time battle." Brock said.

"Now just one more." Takato said.

Bugsy returns his unconscious Metapod, "Your good Yuna. Your the first trainer who lasted to the third round match with me in a long long time. Lucky for me, I've saved the best Pokémon for last." He commented, "The Bug Pokémon Warrior, I choose you Scyther."

"Scyther Scy." The mantis Pokémon appeared.

"A Scyther. Poseidon, return." Yuna recalled back her diving Pokémon, she took out another Pokéball, "Helios, I choose you."

"Charmander!" Helios appeared.

"A Charmander." Bugsy said, he notice the eye colour, "Ruby-red?"

"Ah, don't worry about his eye colour. He inherited from his mother my Charizard." Yuna said, "I'll start off. Use Ember Helios."

"Charr!" Helios fires Ember towards the mantis Pokémon.

"Dodge it Scyther and use Fury Cutter." Bugsy said.

"Scyther!" Scyther moves to the side, avoiding the Ember attack and then charges forwards towards the lizard Pokémon with its scythe.

"Charmander!" Helios jumps to avoid the sharp Scyther scythe, "Char!" He moves backwards.

"Flamethrower." Helio jumped away and launches a blast of flames towards the mantis Pokémon.

Bugsy grinned, "Scyther, use Sword Dance." He said.

"Scyther Scyther Scyther..." The mantis Pokémon crossed its scythes across its chest and then spun around like a spinning top.

When Helios Flamethrower came in contact with Scyther, the Fire-type attack bounced right off.

"Wha..." Mairin and Takato gaped.

"Impressive why to counter against Fire-type moves." Alain commented.

"Truely. The way how Scyther spun really fast is like a fan that can repels the flames away." Brock said.

"Eh, not bad. An interesting way to use Sword Dance." Yuna commented, she thought of the defensive move.

"Charmander?" Helios looked at his mother trainer.

"I know Helios and don't worry I have a plan. Get ready to use Flamethrower again." Yuna said.

"Charmander!" Helios nodded.

Bugsy raised an eyebrow, "Again huh? Use Sword Dance Scyther." He said.

"Scyther Scyther Scyther!" The mantis Pokémon spun around again.

Yuna smirked, "Check. Helios jumped right above Scyther and burn it." She said.

"Charmander Char!" Helios ran fast and used his leg strength to jump as high as he can, when he is above Scyther, he immediately opened his mouth and launched a stream of fire towards the mantis Pokémon.

"Nice one Yuna." Alain said.

"Huh?" Mairin and Takato said, confused.

"I see. Since Scyther Sword Dance only works from the sides, the top is open for an attack." Brock said.

"Oh..."

"Go Helios!" Takato cheered.

"SCYTHER!" The mantis Pokémon cried out in pain as the flames hit it, scorching it as well.

"Now Tackle it Helios." Yuna said.

"Charrrmander!" Helios charges towards the mantis Pokémon really fast, the attack hits Scyther on the stomach.

"Scyther..." Scyther collapsed onto the ground with swirling eyes. "... Scy ... Scyther..."

"Scyther is unable to battle! Charmander wins the round! The victory goes to the Challenger from Pallet Town!" The referee declared.

"We did it!" Yuna cheered and caught the lizard Pokémon.

"Charmander Char!" Helios smiled.

Busy returned back his unconscious Scyther back to its Pokéball, "Great job Scyther. Take a good rest now." He said and than looked towards the gang.

"Congratulations nee-chan and Helios!" Takato beamed.

"That was great thinking." Brock commented.

Alain rubbed the young lizard Pokémon head, "Great job on your first gym battle Helios." He complimented.

"Pikachu Pikapi. (Nice work little one.)" Light said.

Helios beamed at the compliments.

"Well Yuna, coming into this match I thought that they is no way that Scyther would lose to a Fire-type Pokémon but you came up with a really great strategy." Bugsy held out his hand, revealing his badge, "Here, this Hive Badge is yours."

The Hive Badge is a shape of a back of a ladybug, with three spots on it.

"Thank you." Yuna smiled and took the badge not before giving a small bow.

"Pikachu..." Light looked at it.

"Charmander!" Helios smiled.

"I was also thrilled of going up against your Legendary Pokémon, Lugia." Bugsy chuckled, "Morty will be speechless when he hears about this."

"Morty? Who's Morty?" Yuna asked.

"Morty Matsuba is the Gym Leader of Ecruteak City and he studies about Legendary Pokémon all the time." Bugsy answered, "So there's no doubt he will be surprised when he realises you have a Legendary Pokémon on your team."

'Though I'm not the only one who has a Legendary Pokémon on their team.' Yuna thought.

"By the way, if you and your friends ever come back to Azalea Town, you could give me a rematch." Bugsy said.

Yuna smiled, "Sure, that be awesome. Hope you are prepared to face my Pokémon thought." She said.

Bugsy chuckled, "I will and I'll be a even better trainer. Who knows I might capture some other Pokémon from other regions." He said.

Yuna and the Azalea Gym Leader shook hands.

"Thanks again Bugsy." Yuna said.

"Good luck Yuna." Bugsy said.

After the Azalea Gym, the gang headed to the Pokémon Centre to heal up Yuna's Pokémon and they headed outside where Kurt's granddaughter was waiting for them.

"Hi everyone, Grandpa sent me to give you guys the special Pokéballs he finished." Maizie said and took out different types of Pokéballs and headed them to the gang expect for Yuna.

Takato got a Fast Ball, a Moon Ball, two Friend Balls, a Lure Ball and a Heavy Ball.

Mairin got a Love Ball, a Moon Ball, two Friend Balls, a Lure Ball and a Heavy Ball.

Alain got two Heavy Balls.

Brock got a Heavy Ball.

"Hey Maizie, whats this Pokéball?" Takato held up a red Pokéball, he doesn't even remember picking an extra apricorn or anything.

"A Cherish Ball." Alain said, remembering how Yuna has them.

Maizie nodded, "Thats right. A Cherish Ball is a rare Pokéball that is inaccessible to anyone expect my Grandpa since he made them. He wanted to give you all one each, since he is still examining the GS Ball and he'll let you know immediately if he finds anything on it." She explained.

"Ah." Alain said.

The gang thanked Maizie for her help and bid her farewell.

"Bye!" Maizie waved.

"Bye!" The gang waved back.
