After capturing the Johto Region Fire-type Starter Pokémon; Cyndaquil, the gang as arrived in Azalea Town.

Azalea Town is one of those peaceful towns that is surrounded by nature.

When the gang first set foot into the Azalea Town, they found out that people here respected Slowpoke, the Dopey Pokémon because they bring rain whenever they yawned altogether.

Slowpoke has lived in Azalea Town as well as the Slowpoke Well, which is an underground river that is filled with Slowpoke.

The gang were in the Pokémon Centre resting themselves.

"You know what I found it amazing that this whole town is filled with Slowpoke everywhere." Mairin spoke up.

"I know what you mean Mairin. It's normally forests, rivers, lakes, meadows, oceans and skies that are filled with Pokémon and we know what it's cities and towns get some wild Pokémon but this is really amazing and crazy at the same time." Yuna commented.

"Well, since Slowpoke is worshipped here, it doesn't surprise me really but I suggest we look for Kurt now." Brock said.

Alain flipped through a magazine, flipping through the pages and he stopped at one.

"What's the page about Alain?" Takato asked.

Alain didn't take his eyes of the page he's reading, "Kurt Gantetsu and his famous for making Pokéballs out of apricorns." He answered.

"Apricorns?" Mairin and Takato questioned.

"Ah, apricorns are like giant berries but Pokémon and humans can't eat them because of their skin is very rough." Brock answered.

"That's right." Yuna nodded, "There are seven different kinds of apricorns, so Kurt makes seven different types of Pokéballs with them." She said.

"Eh, that's sound really cool." Takato said.

Yuna looked over Alain's shoulder, "Oh, it's says here that you can make juice with apricorns as well but you need to have a machine called an Apriblender to make it." She reads out.

Brock was interested, "Really? What does it do?" He asked.

"The juice is called aprijuice and it's a sort of energy drink for Pokémon to make them strong." Alain replied.

Brock made note of that aprijuice and machine, just in case he wants one in the future.

The gang left the Pokémon Centre and headed towards the house that Kurt lives, they arrived at a old Japanese house.

When they arrived at the Japanese house they were greeted by a little girl.

"Hi there, what are you here for?" The little girl asked.

"Hello, we are here to see Kurt Gantetsu." Yuna replied.

"My grandpa is in his workshop making Pokéballs, I'll take you to him and my name is Maizie by the way." The little girl said.

Maizie led the gang to Kurt's Workshop, it was big shed outside the house and they saw an old man and he was placing something in the oven there.

"Grandpa! Grandpa, there is someone here to see you." Maizie called out.

The old man stopped and stood up, he looked at the gang, "Welcome, I'm Kurt Gantetsu and what can I do for you?" He asked.

Yuna gave a small bow, "Hello Kurt, my friends and I are here because Professor Oak asked us to give you something." She answered.

Kurt raised an eyebrow, "Professor Oak you say. What is it?" He asked.

Yuna took out the GS Ball from her backpack and gave it to Kurt, "Professor Oak has no idea what this Pokéball really is, so he thought you may find out something about it." She responses.

Kurt gave the GS Ball a look, "Umm, well this ball is certainly a mystery, but I'll see what I can do to solve it." He said.

"Yeah, no need to worry. If anyone can figure this mysterious Pokéball out, my Grandpa can." Maizie smiled.

Takato looked at the Pokéballs, interest.

Yuna saw the looked her little brother is getting, "Excuse me Kurt, is it possible for you to make some of those different type Pokéballs for my little brother here?" She asked.

Takato blinked.

Kurt chuckled, "Of course. I don't mind at all." He said.

"Really?! Thank you!" Takato cheered.

"But first you need to grab some apricorns for me."

"Okay!" Takato salutes.

The gang chuckled at that.

"I'll help you." Maizie offers.

"Thanks." Yuna smiled.

First Maizie took the gang outside the house, showing them a tree with white apricorns growing on them.

"Those are white apricorns, Grandpa uses those to make Fast Balls. Fast Balls are used to catch Pokémon that move quickly." Maizie explains.

Mairin blinked, "Are they okay to be pick?" She asked.

Maizie looked at the white apricorns closely and carefully, "The ones on the lower branch are and before you pick one, I want to explain something first." She answered, her tone sounded serious and her look as well, "You must be careful when picking apricorns because if you pick them like crazy and before they are even ripe, the apricorns tree would end up destroyed. So you should pick them when they are ready to be picked and not take too many at once."

"Right." Brock said.

The rest of the gang understood as well and made a promise to be careful.

Takato picked a white apricorn, he wanted a Fast Ball just in case.

Next Maizie took the gang to a forest near Azalea Town.

"Why are we here?" Mairin asked.

"We can get other apricorns here as well." Maizie replied.

"Pink apricorns?" Mairin questioned.

"Those pink apricorns are for making Love Balls. They work best if your trying to catch a Pokémon of a different gender." Maizie explained.

Mairin pick a pink apricorn, with Maizie help.

They gang continues to walk around the forest.

"Pika!" Light pointed out.

"See that one. That's a yellow apricorn. Which becomes a Moon Ball." Maizie explained, "They work on Pokémon that uses Moon Stone to evolve."

"So like Clefairy, Nidorina and Jigglypuff." Brock said.

"Skitty and Munna." Alain added.

Mairin and Takato picked one for themselves.

Maizie took them to the next apricorn tree.

"Wow." Mairin awed.

"This grove is full of green apricorns. These kind are used to make Friend Ball." Maizie explained, "Which are used to catch Pokémon, but makes them friendlier. You can take some if you like, there all ready."

Mairin and Takato picked two each.

Maizie took them to another apricorn tree.

"Red one. Which one are these?" Brock asked.

"Red apricorns are used to make Level Balls. Which is used to catch wild Pokémon that are weak." Maizie answered.

The next tree Maizie took the gang too were filled with blue apricorns.

"As you tell by looking, but those one are blue apricorns. Grandpa uses the apricorns from these trees to make Lure Balls." Maizie explains, "Which are the best kind for Water-type Pokémon."

"Which ones are ready?" Takato asked.

Maizie stares at the blue apricorns carefully, "Ah, see those one in the front. They are ready to be picked." She replied.

Mairin and Takato picked one each.

Maizie turned her head to her side and gasped, "And the last ones are. Oh, look at how big the black apricorns got." She said.

"What type?" Alain asked.

"There used to make Heavy Ball, which is really good to capture Pokémon that weight a lot." Maizie explains.

Alain hummed, 'Better get another one.' He thought as he already as a Heavy Ball by having another or two wouldn't hurt.

Brock, Takato and Mairin picked one each, while Alain picked two.

Brock saw something up in the tree, "Hey, look there." He pointed out.

The gang looked up into the tree and saw some Pokémon that looked like a blue-green, pinecone-like Pokémon with red eyes hanging on the tree branches.

"Oh, those are Pineco." Maizie said.

Yuna pulled out her Pokédex and scanned the Pokémon.

[Pineco, the Bagworm Pokémon. Appears calms as it hangs sedately from tree branches, but it will self-destruct at the slight provocation.]

"Self-destruct." Mairin paled. "How scary."

"Not to me. I want one." Brock said, he ran towards the Pineco, "I wish to catch one of you!"

"Pineco!" The biggest Pineco there jumped from the branch, "Pineco! (I accept!)"

"Ah, it accepted." Yuna said.

Brock smiled, "Great. Geodude, let's go!" He sent out the rock Pokémon.

"Geodude!" The rock Pokémon appeared.

"Nice choice. Since Pineco is a Bug-type Pokémon and Geodude is a Rock-type Pokémon." Alain said.

"Eh! Pineco is a Bug-type?" Mairin asked.

"Yes, they may not look like it but they are a Bug-type." Yuna answered.

"Okay Geodude, use Tackle!" Brock said.

"Geo!" Geodude charges towards the bagworm Pokémon.

"Pineco!" Pineco jumped, avoiding the Tackle attack and then it shoot out stars from its body.

"That's Swift." Yuna said.

"Must be a Egg move." Alain said.

"Geo!" The rock Pokémon stayed still as the Swift hits him, it didn't cause much damage at all.

"Geodude, use Mega Punch now." Brock said.

"Geodude!" Geodude's fist glowed white and then he punched the bagworm Pokémon really hard.

"Pineco!" Pinceo flinched at the pain and then it started to glow white.

"Ah." Yuna and Alain said.

"It's going to use Self-destruct!" Maizie exclaimed.

Brock took out a Pokéball that is red, yellow and black, he threw it towards the Pineco.

"Hey, that's a Fast Ball!" Maizie said.

"Wha-!" Mairin and Takato gaped.

The Fast Ball hits Pineco on the head and it was sucked into the Fast Ball, captured without much of a struggle.

Yuna, Takato, Alain, Mairin and Maizie congratulated Brock on his capture of Pineco.

"Hey Brock, when did you get a Fast Ball?" Yuna asked.

"At the Pokémon Centre, there was an empty Fast Ball on the floor and I asked Nurse Joy if it belonged to anyone." Brock answered, "Apparently no one claimed for it, so I decide to have it and it really came in handy."

"Sure did." Mairin and Takato said.

Soon they went back to Kurt's house and the gang expect for Yuna, gave the apricorns to the Pokéball maker.

"Thank you. I will start making them into Pokéballs right away, but you will have to wait till tomorrow for them to be finished." Kurt said.

"That's fine." Alain said.

"Yeah, we're going to the gym tomorrow." Yuna said.

Kurt nodded.

"Speaking of Pokéball, did you happen to find anything about the GS Ball?" Brock asked.

Kurt frowned, he took out the GS Ball and stared at it, "It's simple yet complex. Classic but bold. Advance but somehow still primitive." He answered, "I still don't know."

"I see." Yuna said.

"I have no idea who design this thing but it's protected by a very powerful lock." Kurt explained.

"A powerful lock?" Yuna and Alain said.

"That's right and there must be a way to break that lock but I don't know what it is yet." Kurt said.

"There is something you don't know Grandpa?" Maizie said.

"I said I don't know yet Maizie, but I'm positive that I can get to the bottom of this with enough time." Kurt looked at the gang, "Is it okay with you kids, if I kept the GS Ball a little longer?"

"That's perfectly fine." Yuna said.

"Though, don't forget to let Professor Oak know if you found anything about the GS Ball." Alain mentioned.

"Sure. I'll tell him." Kurt said.

With the GS Ball safety delivered but the mystery is still unsolved, our heroes next stop in Azalea Town is the Azalea Gym, the second Johto League Gym match.
