After travelling through the forest, the gang has made it to Cherrygrove City where Yuna will enter in her first Pokémon Contest.

"Finally." Mairin stretches.

"We'll relax here first than head to Pokémon Contest Hall." Brock said.

"Okay Brock." Takato said.

"Sure thing." Yuna nodded.

"STOP! Stop thief!" They heard someone shout out. "STOPPP!"

The gang stood on the side when a small-brown furry round body ran past them quickly.

"Fast..." Mairin blinked.

Alain saw the Pokémon that ran past them, "It's a Sentret." He muttered.

A middle aged man ran up to them, panting heavily, "Did you kids see the Sentret that ran by here?" He asked.

The gang pointed in the direct that the brown Pokémon ran and the middle aged man immediately ran.

"Okay... What in Arceus name was that all about?" Yuna asked.

"What's going on here?" Brock asked.

The gang entered the city and told Officer Jenny about what just happened with the Sentret.

Officer Jenny sighs, "This has happened for a week now. You see this Sentret has been nicking food from stores and whenever someone tries to catch it with a Pokémon, that Sentret easily defeats it." She explains.

"Wow, that's one incredible Sentret." Yuna said and pulled out her Pokédex and searched up the Pokémon.

[Sentret, the Scout Pokémon. Sentret is able to see great distance by rising on its tail. When it spots an enemy or any kind of danger, it emits a loud cry as a warning.]

Alain thought for a moment, "What I found strange was that Sentret behaviour. It was very brave and feisty. Normally Sentret behaves very nervously and cautiously, fearing for its life." He explains.

Brock agreed, "Your right. It's quite unusual for a Sentret to do something like this." He added.

"There must be a reason why Sentret is stealing food." Yuna said.

"Guess we have to follow it." Brock said.

"How exactly?" Takato asked.

"Easy."

The gang went back to the area where they first saw the Sentret, outside the city.

Brock took out a sandwich from his bag and place it on the ground, "We can use the sandwich as a bait for Sentret and when Sentret does take the sandwich, we can follow it and see why it's stealing foods." He explains.

They gang went into the bushes to hide and they quietly waited for the Sentret to appear.

"Sentret?" Sentret arrived a few seconds later, it immediately picked up the sandwich and ran off.

"Okay, let's follow it." Brock whispered.

"I suggest we do this quietly has possible, we don't want the Sentret to know we're following it." Alain said.

"Okay." Takato and Mairin whispered.

They carefully followed the scout Pokémon and when they arrived, it was a clearing in the woods and they a Pokémon on the ground, which surprise them.

On the ground lay a weak, sick and injured Stantler.

[A/N: Just imagine it look sick and all.]

"It's a Stantler and a young one as well." Alain said.

Yuna pulled out her Pokédex and scanned the Pokémon.

[Stantler, the Big Horn Pokémon. The eye-like shapes at the base of its horns produce a pleasant odour, that has a bewildering effect on anyone who smells it. It can also create starling, realistic illusion by shaking its horns. Stantler from herds and live in mountainous terrain.]

Yuna place her Pokédex away, "This must be the reason why Sentret is stealing food, so it can feed the baby Stantler." She said.

Brock stepped forward to help the baby Stantler condition.

"Sent!" Sentret notice Brock and was really to fight, "Sentret!"

Brock raised his hands in a surrender motion, "Easy Sentret, I'm not here to harm your friend, I wish to help the baby Stantler." He said, calmly.

"Sent..." Sentret stared at Brock for a few seconds and nodded, "Sentret." It accepted.

"Thank you." Brock picked up the baby Stantler.

"Stan?" Baby Stantler said, weakly.

"Let's go to the Pokémon Centre." Brock said.

The gang ran to the Pokémon Centre with Sentret following.

When the gang arrived at the Pokémon Centre, they also saw Officer Jenny there as well.

"Nurse Joy this baby Stantler needs help!" Brock called out.

Nurse Joy saw the baby Stantler conditions and gasped, "Chansey!" She called out her helper.

"Chansey! Chan!" Two Chansey came from the back with a stretcher, "Chansey!"

Brock place the baby Stantler onto the stretcher bed and it was pulled away into the emergency room.

"What happen?" Officer Jenny asked the gang.

"We followed Sentret and saw Sentret giving food the to baby Stantler. It's the reason why Sentret was stealing food, so it can feed the baby Stantler." Brock explained.

"I see. At least it wasn't for a selfish reason." Officer Jenny said.

Nurse Joy came out of the operation room, "Good news. Stantler is going to be just fine now, I've given it some medicine and took care of its injured leg and now all it needs is to rest." She explained.

Brock was relieved by that, as well as the gang.

"What is the baby Stantler doing here all by itself?" Takato asked, he wondered where its parents are.

"I might know that. You see, six days ago an old couple who were Breeders kept some Pokémon Egg. But the day they moved away to another city and took the Pokémon eggs with them, but apparently they didn't know that they left one egg behind and it's a Stantler Egg." Officer Jenny answered.

"No way." Mairin said.

"The old couple contacted me immediately about it and I tried to find the missing Stantler egg but I never find it." Officer Jenny said.

"So that means that the Stantler egg hatched all on its own and the baby Stantler has been all on its own the whole till Sentret found it and decided to take care of it." Yuna said.

"Sent. Sentret! Sentret." Sentret jumped up and down, agreeing what Yuna has said.

Yuna giggled and petted the Sentret head who purred in response, "How cute and your a really brave Pokémon." She said.

"Seennttrreett..." It purred even more.

"Awww~~" Mairin cooed.

Yuna remembered something, "Excuse me Nurse Joy, when is the deadline of the Pokémon Contest registration?" She asked.

Nurse Joy blinked, "It's deadline is in twenty mins." She replied.

Yuna eyes widen, "Dear Arceus!" She got up and ran out of the Pokémon Centre fast.

"Fast." Brock stared. "But then again I can't blame Yuna, we were so focus on Sentret that we forgot about it." He said.

"Big brother is gone." Mairin said.

"He must've went with nee-chan." Takato said.

Yuna ran and entered the Cherrygrove Pokémon Contest Hall, she went up to the front desk, where a lady with shoulder length dark brown hair and blue eyes, wearing a suit, "Excuse me, but am I late to sign up for the Pokémon Contest?" She panted, asking.

Alain entered the contest hall and saw his girlfriend.

The lady at the desk shook her head, "Of course not, your just in time." She replied.

Yuna sighs in relief, "Thank Arceus. I would like to sign up, please?" She asked.

"Of course. Is this your first contest?" The lady asked.

"It is." Alain replied for Yuna who is on the floor.

"Okay, I just need your Pokédex." The lady said.

Yuna gave her Pokédex to Alain who handed to the lady.

"Thank you." The lady took the Pokédex and slot it into a machine and she started to type the information, she transferred from the Pokédex.

Yuna got up from the floor and sighs.

"Here you go all." The lady said and she handed back her Pokédex with an ID card the system has created and a light red ribbon case. "This ID Card will serve as your ID Coordinator Pass from now on in the Johto Region. You may enter any contest you like with it."

The contest pass was light silver, with a dark blue ribbon in the middle.

[A/N: C.C.P = Coordinator Contest Pass. Also why Silver and gold colour because they are in Johto, the home of Lugia and Ho-Oh.]

On the back, had Yuna's basic information on it, with an image of her on the right side and the left hand bottom said, 'JOHTO PASS'.

"Your welcome and the contest starts in two days at 10 o'clock, good luck." The lady smiled.

Yuna nodded and left the Cherrygrove Contest Hall with Alain and they both headed to the Pokémon Centre.

Both Yuna and Alain entered the Pokémon Centre where Sentret is still with the others.

"Ah, Yuna did you make it?" Brock asked.

Yuna nodded, "Yeah, just in time." She replied.

"That good." Mairin said.

That night, the gang stayed in the Pokémon Centre for the night and Brock stayed with the baby Stantler, watching over it, along with Sentret.

Next day, morning arrived and the gang just had some breakfast.

"Stantler!" The baby Stantler was completely healthy.

"I'm glad to see that your okay Stantler." Brock said, happily.

"Stantler!" The baby Stantler walked up to Brock and nuzzled him.

"It seems to me that Stantler likes Brock very much." Yuna commented.

"I'm not surprise, Brock did stay beside the baby Stantler all night." Alain commented.

"Yay! Brock you should keep him." Both Takato and Mairin said.

"I would like that but he belongs to the old couple." Brock said. "He should go back to them."

Just then Officer Jenny came into the Pokémon Centre.

"Officer Jenny?" Mairin said.

"I just came to tell you something. Brock, I contacted the old couple last night and told them about you and they like to speak with you." Officer Jenny said.

"Sure." Brock went to the video phone area and spoke to the old couple.

After a few minutes has past, Brock got off the phone and headed back to the gang.

"Is everything okay Brock?" Yuna asked.

"What did they say?" Takato asked.

"The old couple said that I can keep the baby Stantler and I showed them Stantler over the phone." Brock answered with a smile, "They saw how happy Stantler was with me and so they are giving him to me."

"That's great Brock." Yuna smiled.

"Congrats." Alain said.

"Thanks." Brock took out and Pokéball and caught the Stantler, 'I'll take good care of you Stantler.' He thought.

Sentret appeared and ran up to Yuna, it began to rubbed its head on her leg, "Sentret~~" It said.

"Well, it's seems that Sentret taken a liking to Yuna." Brock commented.

Yuna bent down and petted it head, "Hey Sentret, would you like to come with me?" She asked.

Sentret ears twitched, "Sentret! Sentret Sent. (Absolutely! But I want a battle first.)" It said.

"Sure." Yuna said.

Sentret ran outside the Pokémon Centre.

"A battle?" Alain asked.

"Yeah." Yuna replied.

The gang headed outside, towards a wood area, so they don't damage anything during the battle between Yuna and Sentret.

"Sentret! (I'm ready!)" Sentret said, ready to fight.

"Nala, I choose you." Yuna sent out the puppy Pokémon.

"Arf!" Nala barked, ready.

"Quick Attack." Nala charged towards the scout Pokémon.

"Sentret!" Sentret dodges the Quick Attack by using its tail as a springboard and then its tail glowed metallic colour.

"Iron Tail. Nala, Rock Throw." Nala dodges the Iron Tail by jumping as well, her stone like collor glowed and she was surrounded by rocks and then threw them.

"Sentret!" Sentret dodges them quickly but then it was hit by one and then it continued. "Sentret!" It shook its head, not giving up.

"That Pokémon sure is strong. Even its nature is shy." Alain said.

"Sentret Sent!" Sentret had a ball of water between its paw and threw it, sending blast of waves towards the puppy Pokémon.

Brock jaw dropped, "Unbelieveable! That's a Water Pulse!" He exclaimed.

"Rock Tomb!" Yuna called out.

"Awooll!" Nala howled and a single giant tall rock appeared and she quickly jumped onto it, avoiding the Water Pulse attack.

"Thunder Fang!" Nala growled and charges towards the scout Pokémon fast and bit down on its paw.

"Sentreeettttt!" It cried out in pain, feeling the electricity through its body and then it collapsed on the ground with swirling eyes.

"Go." Yuna tossed a Pokéball towards the scout Pokémon and it was caught. "Yes, I got a Sentret." She smiled.

"Yay!" Mairin and Takato cheered.

"Way to go Yuna." Brock said.

"That Water Pulse was sure surprising." Alain said.

"I know what you mean." Yuna said and returned back her puppy Pokémon but not before giving her a treat.

And so finding out the reason why Sentret was stealing food and finding a baby Stantler, the gang stays in Cherrygrove City for Yuna's first Pokémon Contest.
