Today the gang headed to Cherrygrove City for Yuna's first Pokémon Contest, they are strolling through a beautiful leafy forest but all it seems like.

"So pretty." Mairin admires the forest, "This place is perfect for Grass-type and Bug-type Pokémon."

"There is green everywhere and nothing wrong at all." Yuna said.

Brock looked ahead and saw a problem, "Erm, actually there is something wrong. Look ahead." He pointed.

They looked ahead and saw some trees in the forest looked dead, not a single leaf on them.

"No way!" Takato said.

"What happen to these trees?" Yuna questioned.

"It's strange, they don't even look burned or diseased, also it's not even autumn yet." Alain explained.

Mairin looked around and spotted a large tree, She notice some Pokémon on it, "Look everyone!" She pointed.

The gang looked at where Mairin is pointing and saw a blue-beetle like Pokémon and some Butterfree's on them as well and they all look like they are sucking the tree sap.

"Those are Heracross." Yuna said and pulled out her Pokédex and scanned the Pokémon.

[Heracross, the Single Horn Pokémon. Though gentle and docile, Heracross possesses great strength and power. Its favourite food is fresh sap from leafy trees.]

"Do you think they did that to the trees here?" Takato asked, pointed back and forward between the tree and dead trees.

"No. Heacross and Butterfree aren't responsible for this. It's naturally for Bug-type Pokémon to eat tree saps, but they also help the trees grow." Alain answered.

"Something is going on in this forest and it doesn't feel good." Brock commented.

"Something is going in this forest alright." A male voice spoke from behind them.

They gang turned around and saw a man with dark brown hair and a beard, he is wearing a dark orange ranger outfit.

"My name is Woodruff and I'm the Ranger around this forest." The man introduces himself.

The gang introduced themselves one by one to Woodruff.

"Pikachu!" Light called out.

"Light whats wrong?" Yuna asked.

Zack growled as he hears something approaching them.

"Zack?" Takato said.

"It think that what they heard." Alain said.

"That's the problem in this side of the forest." Woodruff states.

"Pinsir." Yuna said.

"Yes. They are the invaders, if they are not stop, they'll suck the whole forest bone dry." Woodruff said.

"What!" Mairin and Takato exclaimed, shocked.

The Pinsir jumped on the tree and threatened the Butterfree's with this spike pincers and the Butterfree's flew away, afraid.

"Hey that's not nice!" Mairin shouted.

"Yeah! Come on Heracross! Fight back!" Takato shouted.

Heracross flew into the air...

"THATS IT!" Mairin and Takato cheered them.

And they flew away, scared.

"WHATTTT!" They froze, shocked.

"The Heracross could fight back but they are peaceful and friendly Pokémon you see. They would rather take flight than fight." Woodruff explained, amused.

Yuna looked back at the tree and notice a Butterfree and a Heracross still, "Oh no." She said.

The Pinsir began to attack the Heracross who was defending the Butterfree.

"Hera Heracross!" Heracross spoke to Butterfree.

"Free... Freee!" Butterfree took flight into the air and away from the Pinsir.

"Zack use Shadow Ball." Takato said.

Zack barked and fired six Shadow Ball and each the Pinsir on the back, sending them crashing into the ground.

"Light, Thunderbolt them." Yuna said.

"Pikaaaachuuuu!" Light fires an Thunderbolt at the stag Pokémon making them all cry out in pain.

The Pinsir immediately got up and ran away.

"That's good for now. The Pinsir is going to comeback I'm afraid." Woodruff said.

"What's going in this forest exactly Woodruff?" Brock asked.

Woodruff got a serious expression, "The Pinsir and Heracross have always lived in together in peace because they each have their own forest. But recently something has been driving the Pinsir across the river, from their forest to the Heracross territory." He explained, "I'm afraid that I don't know why, but I fear for this side of the forest is going to be destroyed by those Pinsir if I don't found out the problem soon."

The gang decided to help out Ranger Woodruff with his quest.

Ranger Woodruff led the gang to the Pinsir side of the forest.

"Pikachu Pikapi." Light pointed behind them.

Everyone turned around and what they saw surprise them, they saw the Heracross they helped was following behind them.

"It's the Heracross we helped." Takato said.

"Its following us." Mairin said.

"What does it want?" Takato asked.

"Don't know but we better keep going." Brock replied.

They came to a rope bridge, across a gorge that would take them to the Pinsir forest but it was broken.

Woodruff frowned, "Thats strange, this rope bridge was just fine yesterday when I was here. Hmmm, whoever or whatever have caused this doesn't what us to cross and enter Pinsir forest." He explained.

"How are we going to get across now?" Yuna asked.

"Is there another way to cross?" Alain asked.

"I'm afraid there isn't another way." Ranger Woodruff answered.

Just then the Heracross that is following them, pushed a tall tree that was close to the rope bridge and the tree collapsed, landing across the gorge.

"That works." Yuna said.

"That's great." Woodruff said.

They used the tree and carefully walked crossed it to the other side, safe and sound.

When they reached the Pinsir's territory, they suddenly notice something in a tree.

It was a Pinsir, but twice larger than the original.

"Do Pinsir even grow that big?" Mairin asked, a little scared.

"No. Unless it's a giant Pokémon." Alain replied.

"No life from the Pinsir." Yuna stated.

"Then Pinsir isn't even a real one, it's a robot." Brock said.

"That robot is actually sucking out the sap from that tree." Woodruff said

"But who would build something like that?" Mairin asked.

"Ahahahaha Wahahaha!" A laughter was heard and from behind the tree, stepped out a man with a grouchy smirk on his face, "I'm the one who build this great machine, with all the sap that I'm collecting, I'll be incredibly rich in no time! Hahahahaha!" He answered.

"You will be in jail too! How dare you use nature for a selfish reason!" Woodruff shouted out, angrily, "Because of your the balance of nature is in trouble!"

The man shrugged off, "Like I care. As long as this stuff makes me money, nothing else matters!" He threw five Pokéballs.

"Beeeee!" Five Beedrill's came out.

"ATTACK THEM!"

"Thunder." Yuna said.

Light jumped of her partners shoulder and fired a bolt of Thunder towards the five Beedrill's.

"BEEEEEEEE!" All five poison bee Pokémon cried out in pain and they have scorching marks on them and soon, one by one they fell the ground with swirling eyes.

"Chespie use Energy Ball at the machine!" Mairin said.

"Zack use Dark Pulse!" Takato said.

"Chespin!" Chespie launches a large size Energy Ball.

"Arfff!" Zack fires a Dark Pulse towards the Energy Ball.

Both Energy Ball and Dark Pulse combined together creating a dark energy ball with black rings around it and the attacked continued and it hit the Pinsir machine, destroying it.

"Alright!" Mairin and Takato high-five each other.

"Nice combination." Alain praised.

"Dark Energy." Yuna states the name of the technique.

"Very nice." Brock compliments.

The man sweater as all his Pokémon and machine was defeated and he tired to make his escape but...

"Pinsir!" The six wild Pinsir appeared and surrounded the man who force them out of their home.

"AHHHHH!" The man screamed out, surrounded.

Woodruff walked up the man and pulled out a rope, he tied the man up, "Your under arrest for sabotaging the forest." He declared.

So in the end the man got arrested and was sent to jail, the Pinsir got their forest back and they a happy to be back, the Heracross and Butterfree could finally live in peace in their forest once again.

"I can't thank you kids enough, thanks to your help the forest is safe again and hopefully it will stay that way." Woodruff said.

"Me too." Brock said.

"Us too." Mairin and Takato smiled.

Suddenly the Heracross, the one that has been following them for a while, stepped forward.

"Oh, it's the same Heracross." Yuna smiled.

"What is it going here?" Mairin asked.

"You want to come with us Heracross?" Takato asked.

"Hera Heracross." Heracross nodded.

"Ah." Takato took out a spare Pokéball and caught the single horn Pokémon, "Yeah, I got a Heracross."

Now Yuna, Takato, Alain, Mairin and Brock continues on their journey with a new addition.

I won't be putting all the Pokémon on by only the ones they have captured in the Johto Region!
