After meeting some new Pokémon in New Bark Town, the gang is on the road to Violet City for Yuna to compete for her first Contest ribbon and Johto League Badge.

"I'm glad we were able to see a Totodile." Takato said. "It was really cool."

"Cyndaquil was cute." Yuna said.

"Too bad we didn't get to see a Chikorita." Brock said.

"Yeah, I would've love to see one." Mairin agreed.

"You only wanted to see one because it's a Grass-type Pokémon." Alain deadpanned.

Mairin gave a sheepish smile, "That as well..." She pouted.

"Pi? Pikachu." Light pointed in a direction.

"What's the matter Light?" Yuna questioned her partner.

"Were going to train hard, hit hard enough, everybody out of the box." A girl said, "Were in the big league so were playing hard ball."

The was about ten years old, with half split blue hair and brown eyes, wearing a yellow striped jacket, blue shirt inside and a white striped short pants.

"Erm..." Yuna has no words.

In front of the girl was a Chikorita and around its head is a yellow and black striped headband.

"Hey look a Chikorita." Brock said.

"How cute~" Mairin said.

"Umm, looking at her age, my guess is that she must be one of the starting Pokémon trainers that received Chikorita from Professor Elm." Alain said.

"It's looks like she is ready to battle a Rattata." Takato said.

"Looks like it and I can't wait to see how Chikorita will battle." Yuna said, as she pulled out her Pokédex and scanned the leaf Pokémon.

[Chikorita, the Leaf Pokémon. Chikorita uses the leaf on its head to scan for warmth and humidity in its surrounding, and loves to sunbathe. It also releases sweet relaxing fragrance from the leaf on its head.]

The gang watched the battle begin the girl's Chikorita and a wild Rattata, as the battle started, the girl was speaking like a baseball game area, 'playball' or 'home field' and other baseball-like words.

"Wow, she must be a huge baseball fan." Brock sweat dropped.

"You said it." Mairin agreed.

"Hm, that outfit colour is an Electabuzz Baseball Team. I remember seeing the game on t.v." Takato commented.

They continued to watch and Chikorita used Tackle attack, knocking Rattata out and the girl caught it.

"Another win for Team Casey!" The girl cheers, as she high-five her Pokémon, "Will the fans rise and salute Casey and Chikorita by singing their victory song."

"Piiikaaa..." Light said, unsure.

The gang sweat dropped at this scene as the girl and Chikorita continued to sing their song.

"Yeahhh! Chikorita return." The girl recalled back her leaf Pokémon into its Pokéball. She turned around and notice the gang, "Huh? Who are you all?"

"Oh, I'm Yuna and we were just wondering past when we notice you and Chikorita. Who are you?" Yuna response.

"I'm Casey Nanako and I just started my journey as a trainer not long ago."  The girl said.

The rest of the gang introduced themselves and they sat on a log, talking to each other.

Casey looked at Light, "Oh, I love your Pikachu Yuna. Actually I love all Pokémon with stripes, especially yellow Pokémon." She said.

"Yellow and striped Pokémon? Why?" Mairin asked.

"Well you see, my family and I have always been fans of the Electabuzz Baseball Team for years and I hope to catch an Electabuzz for myself one of these days." Casey explained.

Takato continued help but feel sorry, he heard and read about the Electabuzz Baseball Team on tv or magazine, they always end up in last place.

"Hey Yuna, I would like to have a Pokémon battle with you." Casey said.

Yuna blinked, "Huh? Are you sure?" She asked.

Casey nodded, "I'm 100% sure. Electabuzz always have a match against the strong baseball players. So I want to battle a trainer who is stronger than me." She answered.

Alain sighs, "She is definitely a rookie trainer." He said. "She got the cocky attitude as well."

"That only comes from some rookie trainers have." Brock added.

"Ermm..." Yuna had no words, "Alright. How about a three-on-three Pokémon battle?" She asked.

Casey nodded, "Certainly."

Yuna and Casey stood on opposite sides, ready for a battle.

Casey held her Pokéball, like a pitcher, "I choose you!" She threw it.

"Pidgey." The bird Pokémon said.

"A Pidgey. Well, I choose you Chouko." Yuna sent out the Alolan midday Butterfree out.

"Free~~" Chouko said, appearing.

Casey awed at the butterfly Pokémon, "Wow. What a pretty Pokémon." She said.

"Thanks. Chouko, use Tackle." Yuna started off.

"Pidgey use Quick Attack!" Casey yelled out.

Chouko flew towards the bird Pokémon who came charging in as well and when the alolan midday butterfly Pokémon hits Pidgey head on, it fell the ground automatically, with swirling eyes.

Takato jaw dropped, "No way..."

Chouko sweat dropped, all she did was tackle it and it fainted already.

"Unbelievable." Alain muttered.

"No way!" Casey gasped but she quickly recalled back her bird Pokémon, "This one won't be easy! Go Rattata!" She sent out the mouse Pokémon.

"Rattata!" It said, appearing.

"She just caught it, didn't she?" Mairin questioned, confused.

Brock nodded, "She sure did." He replied.

"Chouko on ground." Yuna said.

"Free~" Chouko flew down and landed on the ground.

"Rattata use Bite!" Casey commanded.

The rat Pokémon charges towards the butterfly Pokémon with its teeth glowing.

"Blow away." Yuna said.

Chouko flapped her wings and a twister appeared, sending it towards the charging Ratatta, it caught it.

"Rattata!" Casey gasped.

As the wind twister keeps spinning, round and round, the rat Pokémon couldn't keep up anymore and fainted within.

The wind twister died out and revealed a unconscious Ratatta.

Casey immediately returns her Rattata, "I'm going to win the next battle Yuna!" She declared, "Go Chikorita!"

"Chiko!" The leaf Pokémon appeared, ready to battle.

"Use Razor Leaf Chikorita!" Casey commanded.

"Chiko!" Chikorita flug leaves towards the ground butterfly Pokémon.

"Silver Wind." Yuna said.

"Freeeee!" Chouko flapped her wings, releasing silvery sparkling wind towards the leaves, it overpowered it and headed towards the leaf Pokémon.

Before Casey could tell Chikorita what to do, the Silver Wind hits the leaf Pokémon, sending it back into a tree, knocking it out.

"Chikorita!" Casey ran toward her starter Pokémon, "We lost..." She said, sadly and returned back her Pokémon.

"Casey your a beginning Pokémon trainer and your Pokémon don't have enough experiences yet, to go up against Yuna who has been on her journey for two years now." Brock started, "But if you train your Pokémon, I'm sure that you'll be a strong trainer in the future."

Casey looked up, feeling a bit better, "You really think so?" She asked.

The gang nodded.

"Thanks everyone." Casey smiled.

Soon it was time for the gang to continue on their way to Cherrygrove City.

"You may have beaten me Yuna but next time, I'll win the game." Casey declared.

Yuna laughs and nodded, "I look forward to it Casey." She said.

"Bye!" Casey waved and walked another way.

"Bye Casey!" Mairin waved.

"Next time huh?" Yuna giggled.

"Next time Casey won't be a rookie anymore." Alain stated.

Yuna smiled at him, "Thats right." She held his hand.

Though they go there separate ways, their new friend Casey is headed towards the same goal as Yuna, becoming the best Pokémon trainers they could be. With practice, patient and determination... Just may get there.

I won't be putting all the Pokémon on by only the ones they have captured in the Johto Region!
