Ash's P.O.V.

I wake up to the blinding sunlight. I swear to arceus I closed the blinds last night. I glance at the clock, it is 10am. I look at Pikachu. He is holding the corner of the blinds.

"Pikachu, why did you open the blinds?" I groan.

"Pika!" Pikachu says and runs out of the room.

He soon comes back with his food bowl in his hands.

"Pika pi." Pikachu places the bowl beside me and points to it.

"You are hungry?"

"Chu!" Pikachu nods.

"Alright. Lemme change out of my pjs, then I'll feed you." I smile and pet his head.

I get up and quickly change. I walk downstairs, and I inhale the smell of bacon. I go to the kitchen, and find my mom.

"Hey mom."

"Morning Ash." My mom smiles.

"Is that bacon?" I ask.

"Yes, we are having bacon and eggs today." She replies.

"Sounds good."

I walk to the counter and grab Pikachu's food. I pour it into his bowl, and to top it off, I add ketchup. I place it in front of Pikachu.

"Pika!" Pikachu jumps and quickly begins eating.

"Here you go, Ash." My mom places a plate of bacon and eggs on the table.

"Thanks." I sit down and begin eating.

"What are your plans today?" My mom asks.

"I don't know. Maybe just stay home and rest. Yesterday was pretty tiring." I say as I take a bite out of my bacon.

"Oh, alright then." My mom replies.

Well, maybe I do want to do something today. I don't know why, but I feel like seeing Serena. Maybe I can invite her over or something, and work on our science homework together.

"Chu!" I hear Pikachu say.

"Huh?" I look down to see Pikachu squirting ketchup all over my breakfast.

"AGH! PIKACHU!!!" I shout and grab the ketchup away from him.

"Pi pikachu!" Pikachu takes my bacon and puts it into his mouth.

"Man...you can have it." I sweatdrop and give him the plate, I don't think ketchup and bacon make a good combination.

I walk to the living room, and sit down on the couch. I open up the TV, and watch whatever I find interesting. Pikachu quickly eats his last bacon. He runs over to the living room and jumps onto my lap. I watch TV for about 30 minutes, until I hear the doorbell ring. I turn the TV off and walk to the door. I open it, and it was Gary.

"Yo! Ashy-boy!" Gary says.

"Gary?" I say, surprised.

"Yes, it's Gary, who else would it be?" Gary smirks.

"Yeah!! Gary!!" I hear female voices.

"Huh?" I look behind Gary, and see his cheerleaders.

"What are they doing here?" I sweatdrop.

"Ehh, you know. Those girls are following me around everywhere. Anyways, I came here to get ya. I feel like going to the park with all the guys and having a battle." Gary looks at me.

"A battle?" I repeat.

"Yes!" Gary replies.

"Sounds good! I'm in!" I say with determination.

"Great, let's go." Gary turns around and starts walking.

"Gimme a sec." I say.

I walk back to the kitchen.

"Mom, I'm going out." I say to her.

"I thought you were staying home today?"

"I know, but I changed my mind." I scratch my head.

"Oh, okay. Have fun." She smiles.

"Thanks, bye mum." I reply.

I walk to the living room.

"Pikachu, we are going to the park."

"Pika!" Pikachu jumps onto my shoulder.

I follow Gary outside.

"Ok, we need to get Clemont." Gary says as he makes his way towards Clemont's door.

"Alright." I reply.

Gary knocks on the door of Clemont's house. We wait for a minute or two, and a little girl with a Dedenne on her head answers the door.

"Oh, hi Gary!" She smiles.

"Hey Bonnie. Is Clemont here?" Gary asks.

"Yeah, I'll go get him." She says and runs back into the house.

"Who's she?" I turn to Gary.

"Clemont's sister." He replies.

Moments later, Bonnie returns, followed by Clemont.

"Oh, hi Ash, Gary." Clemont smiles. "What's brings you guys here?"

"We came to get you. We are gonna do some battling!" Gary says.

"Oh? Count me in." Clemont smiles. "Bonnie, tell mum I will be gone for a few hours."

"Okay big brother!" Bonnie cheerfully says.

Gary, Clemont and I start walking to the park.

"Wait, are the girls coming?" I ask out of curiosity.

"Serena, Misty, Iris, May and Dawn? Nah. Just us." Gary replies.

"Oh..." I sigh.

"Why Ashy-boy?" Gary looks at me.

"O-oh, it's nothing." I reply.

Gary gives me a weird look, and shrugs his shoulders.

Darn it. Looks like I won't be seeing Serena today.

"Umm, are they coming with us?" Clemont says as he looks at Gary's cheerleaders.

"Yeah, of course." Gary replies.

"Why? They are really annoying." I say.

"Annoying? You are just jealous I got cute cheerleaders and you don't." Gary smirks.

"What? I did not say that." I roll my eyes.

"Anyways, they are here to cheer me on during my battle against you, Ashy-boy." Gary looks at me.

"Whatever." I look back at him.

"Who else is coming?" Clemont asks.

"Just Barry. He will meet us at the park." Gary replies. "The others couldn't come."

"Oh, okay."

We walk for 15 minutes. I really do wish Serena came. It's sucks. It'd be more fun. As we walk, we pass by a few shops. I glance at the dresses on display. I bet Serena would love all these. Wait...what am I thinking? I shake my head to get rid of my thoughts.

"We are here!" Gary says.

"Great! Let's get this battle on the road!" I say while punching the air.

"We gotta wait for Barry, you idiot." Gary rolls his eyes.

"Oh, right." I sweatdrop.

We wait for 5 minutes or so, and Barry finally arrives.

"What took you so long?" Gary asks.

"Sorry, I kinda got lost..." Barry says.

"Lost? How?" Gary smirks.

"Long story." Barry sweatdrops.

"Okay then..." Gary raises his eyebrow.

"Let's just head to the battlefield." Clemont says.

"Right." I say.

We walk to a nearby battlefield.

"Okay. Since there are four of us, it would make sense to have a double battle." Gary says.

"Alright. Who is on each side?" I ask.

"Doesn't really matter." Gary replies.

"Then I call being with Gary!" Barry almost shouts.

"Fine with me." Gary says.

"Looks like it's us." Clemont turns to me.

"Great! Let's win this!" I smile.

We stand at the south end of the battlefield, while Gary and Barry stand at the other.

I wish Serena were he to watch this battle, to be honest. Wait. Ugh. Here we go with Serena again. Come on, stop thinking about her.

"Go!" Gary throws his pokeball.

"War!!!" The pokemon says as it emerges from the pokeball.

"So Gary is using Wartortle." Clemont says and takes out his pokedex.

"Wartortle, the Turtle Pokémon and the evolved form of Squirtle. Its furry tail is very popular as a symbol of long life."

"Let's go, Roserade!" Barry throws his pokeball.

"And Barry is using Roserade." I say and take out my pokedex.

"Roserade, the Bouquet Pokémon. Roserade uses its sweet aroma to attract prey then strikes with thorny whips to defeat it."

"Okay then. Pikachu, let's do this!" I look at Pikachu.

"Chu!" Pikachu runs onto the battlefield.

"Then I will go with you!" Clemont throws his pokeball.

"Ches!" Chespin comes out.

"Battle begin." Gary smiles.

"Pikachu use quick attack on Wartortle!" I shout.

"Pika!" Pikachu starts running at full speed.

"Use rapid spin to block him!" Gary yells.

Wartortle waits until Pikachu is close enough. It then enters its shell and begins spinning rapidly. Pikachu runs into Wartortle, gets hit and is thrown back.

"Pika!" Pikachu shrieks.

"Pikachu!" I shout in worry.

"Gary Gary he's our man, if he can't do it, no one can!" Gary's cheerleaders jump and cheer.

Gary's cheerleaders need to shut up.

"Roserade use razor leaf on Chespin!" Barry intructs.

"Rossseee!" Roserade throws leaves at Chespin.

"Chespin counter it with pin missle!" Clemont shouts.

"Ches!" Chespin releases pins.

The two moves collide, causing a small explosion.

"Use electro ball on Roserade!" I yell.

"Pikaaa!" Pikachu starts forming a ball of electricity from its tail.

"Hurry, use water gun before Pikachu releases the move!" Gary intructs.

"Warrr!!" Wartortle opens its mouth wide and shoots a long shot of water.

The water gun hits Pikachu before it can release it move.

"Pika!!!" Pikachu shrieks as it is thrown hard on the ground.

"No! Man, Gary is good." I say to Clemont.

"I know. Ash, you have a type advantage. Electric types are super effective against water types. Put Pikachu's moves to good use!" Clemont looks at me.

"Right!" I say.

"Roserade use energy ball on Pikachu!" Barry shouts.

"Roserraadee!" Roserade releases a green ball of energy at Pikachu.

"Chespin use vine whip to get Pikachu out of the way!" Clemont shouts.

"Ches!" Chespin lets out two vines.

The vines lift Pikachu up into the air just in time before the energy ball hits.

"Now, Ash!" Clemont looks at me.

"Alright! Pikachu use thunderbolt!" I shout.

Chespin uses its vines to carry Pikachu over to Roserade.

"Piikkaaachuuu!" Pikachu lets out a bolt of thunder at Roserade.

"Raaddee!" Roserade shrieks in pain, and falls to the ground, fainted.

"No!" Barry shouts.

"Alright!" I jump.

"You did great, thanks." Barry sighs and returns his pokemon.

"This isn't over yet! Use bubblebeam!" Gary shouts.

"Torrtlee!" Wartortle releases bubbles at Pikachu.

"Use quick attack to dodge!" I yell.

"Pika!" Pikachu dodges at full speed.

"Electro ball!" I shout.

"Pika, chu pi!" Pikachu lets out a ball of electricity at Wartortle.

"Deflect it with rapid spin!" Gary intructs.

"Warrttorttlee!" Wartortle quickly spins around in its shell.

The electro ball is thrown back, now making its way towards Chespin.

"Pin?!" Chespin looks up in worry.

The electro ball hits and causes an explosion. The smoke clears up, revealing a fainted Chespin.

"Chespin!" Clemont yells.

"Gary Gary he's our man , if he can't do it, no one can!" Gary's cheerleaders cheer.

Ugh, I swear to arceus if they don't shut up, I will throw a bus at them.

"You were awesome. Rest up." Clemont sighs and returns his pokemon.

"Looks like it's just us. You are going down, Ashy-boy." Gary gives me an evil smile.

"Hmp. We will see about that." I say.

"Pikachu use-" I start before I was interupted by a loud noise.

*Rumble rumble*

"Huh?" I say as I look up.

"Is that...thunder?" Barry questions.

"Looks like it." Clemont replies.

It suddenly starts raining. Hard.

"R-rain?!" I shout and try to cover my head.

"Darn. Get inside!" Gary yells and starts running.

We run to a nearby cafe. We quickly get inside.

"Man..." Clemont pants heavily.

"Great. I feel so soggy now." Barry sighs and tries to drain the water from his clothes.

"Ugh. We didn't get to finish our battle. Stupid rain." I groan and sit down on a table.

"We can continue it in here." Gary says.

"Are you crazy?" I say and look at him.

"I was just joking, chill." Gary rolls his eyes.

"Looks like we have to stay here till' the rain stops." Clemont sighs.

I look out the window. The sky is dark and cloudy, and the wind looks really strong.

"Yup. We have no other choice." Barry adds.

An hour later...

"Hey, the rain isn't too hard anymore, I think we can go." Gary says.

"But it hasn't stopped fully." Clemont replies.

"Well, it's calmed down enough for us to walk home." Gary says.

"Alright, let's go then." I say and get up from my seat.

Barry went his own way back to his hometown, Santalune City. We walk for 10 minutes, then we finally arrive back in Vaniville.

"Let's finish up our battle some other time." Gary looks at me.

"Agreed." I reply.

We say our goodbyes and walk to our houses. As I'm making my way to my house, I glance at Serena's place. I wonder what's she's doing right now. I then enter my house.

"Mom, I'm back." I say.

"Ash!" My mom runs to me. "Are you alright? I heard on the news there was a rain storm!"

My mom places her hands on my cheeks.

"Look at you! You are soaking wet!"

"Mom, I'm fine. We stayed at a cafe until the rain stopped." I reply.

"I was so worried!" She puts her hands on her hips.

"Look, I'm home, and I am doing fine." I say.

"Alright." My mom sighs. "Just go shower. You look a mess."

"Fine." I playfully roll my eyes and chuckle.

I walk upstairs and take a 15 minute warm shower. After I finish, I use a cloth to clean Pikachu.

"Chaa!!" Pikachu says as I wipe its tail.

"You really that, eh buddy?" I smile.

"Pika!" Pikachu replies.

I finish up cleaning Pikachu. I then sit on my bed, and finish up my homework for tommorow. I was planning on doing it with Serena, but I didn't get the chance to. It's too late anyways. Speaking of Serena. Why do I keep thinking about her? This is like, the fifth time today. I'm not usually like this. My mind has been acting all weird lately. Maybe it's just nothing. I try to ignore it, and just continue with my homework.
