Ash's P.O.V.

The person I have been dating was the one who broke up Serena and I. I have no idea how she did it, but she somehow pulled it off.

I should've listened to Serena on that day... then all of this wouldn't be happening right now. But the way she ran off yesterday, I am not sure if she likes me anymore.

I look back up at Miette, Gary and Dawn.

"You guys are so annoying. I love Ash and all, but his friends are just so...ugh." Miette rolls her eyes.

"We are what?!" Dawn shouts.

"I can't stand this anymore." Gary sighs. "Let's go." He takes Dawn's wrist and drags her away.

Dawn doesn't say anything as she gets pulled away. She simply looks back at Miette and sticks her tongue out.

I turn around and head back. I don't want to be here anymore, there's so much going on in my mind.

"Pika pi!" Pikachu follows.

I go outside. I flop down beneath the nearest tree I could find. I place my backpack under my head.

"Pika pika?"

I sigh. "I'll deal with Miette later, Pikachu. I just need some time to take in what's happening."

"Chu..." Pikachu nods.

"Erg...I'm so stupid...I'm not going to be able to forgive myself for this..." I bring a hand up to my forehead.

I stare into the sky. How did Miette do it? Calem was kissing Serena, so did she team up with him to do it? Or was the kiss just an accident? Maybe Calem didn't mean it.

There are so much questions to ask. Either Calem is on Miette's side, or Miette used him.

"That's it!" I sit up from the ground.

"Pi?" Pikachu tilts his head.

Miette used Calem. That's why Calem tried talking to me the other day. He was trying to tell me he didn't mean it, because it wasn't his doing in the first place.

I saw things wrong on that day. Calem was right. I always jump to conclusions. I have no right to be angry at him.

"Pika pi?"

"Huh? Oh, it's nothing buddy." I lie back down. "Just thought of something."

Now I feel even worse. Calem is my best friend, why did I treat him like that?!

I need to go apoligize to him. And Serena too...I need to apoligize to both.

I take my phone from my pocket. I open up an album saved on my phone. I direct my finger and click on one of the pictures.

In the photo, I see myself making the goofiest smile. Beside me is Serena. The camera flash during the picture made her eyes twinkle. And her smile...I could never forget that. She looks so beautiful in this picture.

I smile as I look at the photo. Looking at this made me realize something.

I miss her.

I put my phone back into my pocket. Now that I think of it, there's someone else I need to apoligize to as well.

"Hey, Pikachu?"

"Pika?" Pikachu looks at me.

"I just wanted to say...I'm sorry."

Pikachu continues to look at me as I talk.

"For everything I have done. That day I just pushed you away and didn't listen. You tried talking to me, because you knew all along, right?"

Pikachu nods.

"Yeah...I'm sorry for not listening to you." I pat Pikachu's head.

"Chu!!" Pikachu jumps, telling me he accepts my apology.

"Thanks buddy." I smile.

To be honest, I don't know what to do. I am too afraid to confront Serena. What if she hates me now? And how am I supposed to dump Miette?

The school bell rings. Great, time for class. I'll just ask Gary about it later. I hope he can at least provide me with some help.

The rest of the day went by way longer than expected. Avoiding Miette was a challenge, but I managed to pull it off.

She sent me so much text messages, but I refuse to answer them. I am so done with that girl.

I spot Gary and Calem talking to eachother nearby. Perfect timing, I need to talk to both of them.

"Hey, guys." I walk up to them.

"Oh, Ashy-boy."

Calem doesn't even bother to look at me. I can understand why, though. This is one of the many reasons why I seriously need to apoligize to him.

"What are you doing here?" Gary asks.

"To talk." I reply. "Calem? Can I say something?"

Calem continues to look down at his feet. Gary sighs and just motions me to go tell him.

"Calem, I'm sorry."

Those words cause Calem to look up at me.

"Yeah, I know. I was such an asshole. I finally realized that Miette did everything. I'm so sorry for not listening to you."

"So you found out, huh." Calem mumbles.

"Y-yeah. I overheard her say it earlier."

I sigh. "I understand if you don't want to forgive me. I deserve it anyways."

"What about Serena...she is the one you are supposed to be apoligizing to. I don't understand why you are here."

"Hey, I kicked my best friend away for no good reason. That is something to apoligize for, right?"

Calem lifts the corner of his lips and smiles.
"It's about time. Welcome back!" He places his arm around me.

"Uh, o-okay then." I sweat drop. As much as I wanted Calem to accept my apology, I did not expect him to accept it this fast.

"So you two finally made up. That's good." Gary says. "So Ashy, what are you planning on doing now?"

I nervously scratch my head. "That's the thing. I have no idea."

Gary facepalms. "Are you serious?"

"Yes! I came here for some help. I-I don't know how to approach Serena and give her a proper apology."

"Wait, did you even break up with Miette yet?" Calem asks.

"Umm...no." I sweat drop.

"Well, that's the first thing you have do, Ashy."

My head lights up with an idea. "I got it!"

"Hm? Got what?" Calem quesions.

I head in the direction of the school parking lot. Gary and Calem aimlessly follow me, wondering what I am up to.

"Here we are!" I point to the parking lot.

Calem gives me a weird look. "What are we doing here?"

"I need your guy's help."

"For what?" Gary asks.

"I will dump Miette later today."

"I still don't get why we are here at the parking lot." Calem mutters to himself.

"And after that..." I bring my hands together and snicker.

Gary notices the expression on my face. "What's with the devilish smile on your face, Ashy?"

"Bus time!" I exclaim.

"Bus..." Gary starts.

"Time?" Calem finishes.

I point to the nearest bus. "I will throw that bus at Miette!"

Gary and Calem look at me and give me the 'are you kidding' look.

Calem sweat drops. "Are you being serious? I-is this some kind of joke?"

"Hmm...if you are going to do that..." Gary begins walking around the parking lot. "You better find the most largest bus, so it will be more painful."

"You are agreeing to this?!" Calem shouts.

"I think this one looks pretty good." I point to one of the buses."

Calem facepalms. "Idiots. Both are such stupid idiots."

"What about this one? This looks pretty painful if you ask me." Gary rubs his chin as he examines the bus.

"Guys, let me just say something." Calem stops Gary and I from our bus search.

Gary nods. "Go ahead."

"Are you guys crazy?! These buses belong to people, so it would be rude to take one! And you do realize throwing a bus would kill her?!" Calem says. "It's not even possible to carry a bus!"

I shake my head after listening to Calem. What am I thinking? A lot has happened today, and now I can't even think straight.

"Yeah, you're right." I sigh. "I don't know what is happening, my head is going a little crazy today."

"I can see that." Calem crosses his arms.

"Okay, so what now, Ashy?"

"I'll do it on my own. This is my problem, so I shouldn't drag you two into this." I begin walking away, leaving Calem and Gary. "Anyways, thanks for your help!" I wave.

"We didn't do anything..." Calem sweat drops. "But you're welcome...?"

I leave the parking lot and make my way in front of the school. First thing I need to do is find Miette.

I walk around the open field. It's hard to find her, since many students haven't left the school grounds yet.

I am constantly having to dodge any incoming soccer balls coming my way from the game the other students are playing.

Finally, I spot blue hair from afar. That's her, it's got to be. I run up and place my hand on her shoulder.

She turns around. "Oh, Ash! I have been looking for you all day!"

"We need to talk." I roughly take her wrist and drag her away from her friends.

"O-ow! Babe that hurts!"

I let go of her wrist and put a serious look on my face.

"Babe? What's the matter?"

I begin talking. "You really think you can keep your little secret hidden forever?"

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

"You don't have to hide it anymore."

"What?" She quesions. "I don't know what you are talking about."

"I won't say anything about what you did. I know you know."

She gasps. "B-babe...what are you trying to say..."

"Let me say this." I lift my head and smirk. "I'm breaking up with you."

"H-huh?! Ash why?! This is so sudden!"

"I don't need the one who broke up Serena and I in my life."

She looks at me at surprise, and immidietely begins to think of an excuse. "W-what are you saying? Remember, it was all Calem! He kissed her and-"

"No. Be quiet. I don't want to hear no more from you."

"Ash please! I love you so much! Please don't leave me! I'll do anything!" She grabs my wrists.

"Pika pi?" Pikachu asks.

I smile. "Be my guest." I release my wrists from her grip and step aside.

"Pika!" Pikachu jumps in excitment.

Miette tilts her head in confusion. "What's going on?"

Pikachu hops off my shoulder and stands in front of Miette. He sparks his cheeks.

"Piikaaaa...."

"Oh no..." She backs up.

"Chhuuuuu!!" Pikachu releases a bolt of thunder with all his might at Miette.

"AAAHHHAHAAHAHAH!!!" She shrieks.

Miette's toasted body falls to the ground. Pikachu looks at her, proud of what he did.

"How could you..." She groans.

"Well, see ya." I turn around and walk away with a smug grin on my face.

Pikachu hops back onto my shoulder. The huge smile on his face tells me he really enjoyed himself.

I take one last look at Miette. She has just gotten back up from the thunderbolt. It felt good to see her like that.

Goodbye, bitch.

A few hours have passed. I have finally decided to go see Serena. I want to make things right with her.

I want everything to go back to normal. I want it to be just like last time, when we were still a happy couple.

Yeah...that's it. I want her back.

I knock on the door to her house. I tried looking for her around the school, but she was nowhere to be seen. That was when I figured I'd just go to her place.

The door opens, and Grace stands in front of me.

"Oh, Ash! Long time no see!" She says.

"Hey, ma'am." I smile. "Is Serena home?"

"No, she's not." She responds. "Do you need her for something?"

"Huh? She's not?"

I take a look at the time. 7:33pm. The sun is going down, I thought she would've been home by now.

"Do you want to come inside to wait for her?" Grace offers.

"Oh, no it's fine." I shake my head. "Thanks anyways!"

I leave her house. I look around me. She is nowhere to be seen. Where could she have gone?

I decide to take a little walk. Who knows, maybe I'll run into her doing so.

Serena's P.O.V.

I am walking along the short path of route 1. After school, Dawn and I hung out. That's why I am only going home now. I hope my mom is fine with me getting home a little late.

Vaniville is not too far away. I am glad for that, because it's getting pretty dark. I don't do very well at late times like this.

The sight of a person at the other end of the path causes me to stop walking. The person is walking really slowly in my direction.

I knew it. I shouldn't have stayed out this late. For all I know, this person could be some serial killer.

I look down to the ground as I walk. Just don't make eye contact, and everything will be fine.

"Serena?"

I look up. The person who I mistaked to be a serial killer turns out to be...Ash.

"Ash..."

He runs up to me. He takes me by surprise and tightly wraps his arms around me.

"A-ash!?" I stand there, locked in his embrace.

"I'm so sorry..." His muffled voice says. His grip on my body tightens even more. "For never listening to you, for hurting you, putting you through so much pain, for not realizing Miette was behind all this!"

As I listen to him, a tear rolls down my cheek.

He continues. "I'm so sorry about everything!"

He is apoligizing to me? He finally found out about Miette? Is this really happening...?

I spot Pikachu standing behind Ash. We make eye contact. He gives me a smile, and motions toward Ash. I mouth 'thank you', and return the smile.

"Hey, A-ash..." I wrap my arms around his back. "It's okay."

He lifts his head and looks at me.

"You were just trapped in Miette's little game, it wasn't your fault."

I have waited so long for Ash to finally come to his senses. It makes me so happy to be in his arms again...I missed this feeling. Another tear drips down my cheek.

"Serena..." He uses his thumb to wipe my tear away. "Why are you crying?"

I look up at him. "Ash...I always knew you'd come back. My feelings for you never left me...it makes me so happy to see you acting like this towards me again." I sniff. "Ash...I missed you."

His lips curve into a warm smile. "You don't know how glad I am to hear that...Serena I missed you too." He pauses for awhile, then continues again. "Dating Miette was wrong of me. I only dated her because I thought doing so would help myself get over you. I thought I loved her...but I was wrong." He places his hand on my cheek. "I was wrong, because I knew I still loved you."

"Ash..." I lean in closer to him.

He follows my lead and leans in as well. Our lips make contact. His kiss is soft, and gentle. Nothing like one of those make out kisses.

This feeling, I finally get to go through it again. It's been so long, yet I still remember how good it felt.

"Pika!" Pikachu jumps as it watches.

I withdraw from him. I keep my forehead leaned against his. I close my eyes as I speak. "Ash, I love you too. Please, don't leave me ever again..."

"I promise, I will stay with you forever."

A smile spreads across my face. "Thank you."

A day has gone by. It is now the morning of the next school day. Ash and I are dating again. The news spread quickly, all our friends were glad to see us back together.

"Now Ash. You better not be doing any of that stuff again or I am seriously going to beat you with my bat." Drew says.

"A bat?" Ash sweat drops. "Don't worry. It won't happen again."

"Yeah, Ashy. If you treat Serena like that again I might have to the big guns." Gary says.

"Big...guns?" Ash gulps. What do you mean?"

Gary takes out his phone. He reveals a picture of Ash that was taken shortly after proffesor Sycamore's summer camp.

Ash's eyes widen after seeing the photo. It was him in one my dresses, back when he was dared to do it.

"If you are to hurt Serena again, I will post this on the internet."

"I thought you deleted that!!" Ash shouts.

"Ehhh, that was a lie. I actually didn't." Gary responds.

"Delete that right now!" Ash jumps at Gary, and tries to knock away his phone.

"Never! And get off me!" Gary pushes Ash away from him.

Ash throws himself back onto him. "If you don't delete that, I'll throw a bus at you!"

"Here we go with the bus again." Calem facepalms.

"Those two are always at it with eachother." Dawn sweat drops.

"You can say that again." I giggle.

The bell to class rings. I watch everyone make their ways to class as I stand behind.

"Serena!" Ash walks up to me. "What are you doing?"

"I'm just glad things can be like the way they used to be again. Things between you and Calem...and you and me. I hope things can stay like this."

"Well, I did promise you to be with you forever." He places an arm around me and pecks my cheek with a kiss. "Everything will stay like this."

"Yeah." I nod. "You're right."

"Now come on." He takes my hand. "You can do all that deep thinking later. You don't wanna be late for class."

"Hehe, okay." I giggle. "Let's go."

Everything is finally back to normal. I know from the bottom of my heart it will stay like this, and there is nothing that couldn't make me happier.
