Serena's P.O.V.

Am I imagining things? Was she really the one behind all this? I can't believe it. She was the one who broke up Ash and I...no...this can't be...

Calem grabs my wrist and stomps over to her.

"C-calem!" I call. He ignores me, and continues his way to her.

I could hear Miette and her friends laughing, most likely at something about me.

Calem cuts in front of Lisa and Mary to get in front of Miette.

Miette stops laughing and looks at him in confusion. "Um, may I help you?"

"Was what you were saying just now the truth?!"

"Huh?" She scrunches her eyebrows. "What are you talking about? And move back, you are in my face."

Calem does the opposite and steps closer to her, dragging me along with him.

"I said, was what you were saying the truth?! Stop acting like you don't know what I'm talking about, dammit!"

She notices me behind Calem, standing there completely speechless. She then realizes why Calem and I are here.

"Miette! What's going on?" Lisa and Mary walk up beside her.

"It seems we have a few eavesdroppers who have heard our conversation earlier." Miette places her hands on her hips as she speaks.

"It was you...you did everything..." I finally pick up the courage to speak.

"Hmp." Miette smirks and turns away.

"...Why did you do it?" I say as I roughly let go of Calem's hand.

Miette looks at her phone. "Oh! It's getting late, I better get going." Miette attempts to change the topic of the conversation. She turns around and walks away.

"Hey, I'm talking to you, you know!" I take her arm to stop her.

"Get your filthy hands off me!" Miette swats my hand away.

Tears begin to build up in my eyes. "I can't believe it. Tell me! What did I do for you to do this to me?!"

"I have my reasons."

"Do you know how much it hurt when Ash dumped me!?" I feel a tear drip down my cheek. "Do you know the struggle I had to go through? Ash ignored me, he never listened, he kicked me out of his life! It was so hard for me!" I wipe my cheek. "When I found out you were dating him...I couldn't handle it...especially since I knew I still loved him!"

"Serena..." Calem says to himself.

"Now to find out that you were the one who did everything...it only hurts me even more! And even worse, Ash has no idea he's dating the girl that broke us up!" I cry. "I hate you! I hate you! You ruined everything!"

I could see my vision get blurry, due to the amount of tears falling from my eyes.

I could feel Calem wrap his arms around my back. He rubs my back with the palm of his hand. "Calm down...everything is fine. You will be alright, okay?"

I bawl into his shoulder. His softening voice helps me a little, and I soon find myself calming down.

"That was my goal all along, to destroy your relationship with Ash." Miette says. "By the way you are acting, looks like I did very well!" She laughs.

"Can you just lay down? Serena is not going through the best situation right now, so please stop." Calem says.

"Oh, look who's talking! The one who kissed Serena, the one who was the cause of their break up!" Miette smirks.

Calem gets caught off gaurd. He thinks back to the day he stumbled into me, causing Ash and I to break up.

Now that he is reminded of that day, his expression saddens.

"C-calem...remember it wasn't your fault, okay?" I say.

He shakes his head to get rid of the thoughts of that day. "Yeah, you're right. Look Miette, I hope you realized it, but what you did ruined the relationship I had with Ash as well."

"So? Not like I care." Miette shrugs. "Anyways, this has gone on too long. Serena, you are just jealous that Ash and I are now together. Go play with your new boyfriend here, you little brat." She motions toward Calem.

"I am not her boyfriend!" Calem yells as his cheeks turn pink.

"You have done nothing but cause me pain!" I shout. "I can't believe you'd go this far just to have Ash for yourself!"

Miette rolls her eyes. "Ugh, can you just-"

"Shut up!" I shout. "You are nothing but a desperate bitch!"

Calem taps my shoulder. I turn to him, and he points behind him as he nervously bites his bottom lip.

There stands Ash, with a shocked expression on his face.

"S-serena...?" He says.

"A-ash?!" I gasp.

Did he hear everything? Does that mean he overheard Miette admitting she broke us up?!

"Why are you talking to my girlfriend like that?!" He walks up beside Miette.

I look at him and sigh. Looks like he only overheard me shouting at Miette.

"Babe! Thank arceus you are here! Serena suddenly came up to me and started calling me such awful names!" Miette says and clings onto Ash's arm.

"W-what? Miette that's not how it happ-"

Ash looks at me. "Serena, I didn't expect words like that to come out of your mouth!"

"A-ash..." I start.

Arceus, why does Ash always have to show up at the wrong times?!

"Look, I know you two are on bad terms but it doesn't mean you can go talking like that! What has Miette done to get you to say such words!?" He raises his voice.

"Look, Ash! Stop jumping to conclusions! You don't know anything that happened!" Calem says.

"Stay out of this, Calem!" He shouts. "This is none of your business, so piss off!"

"Ash, it was Miette! She was the one who broke-"

Ash cuts me off. "If this is one of your excuses then I don't want to hear it! I thought we were okay, I thought we were cool. Looks like I was wrong..."

"You never let me talk!" Tears begin to build up in my eyes once again. "Stop talking like I was the one who started all this, it wasn't!" I cry. "You don't know anything, you don't know what I just been through!"

I take off. I run as fast as I can, away from Ash and Miette. I couldn't stand being there any longer.

"Serena!" Calem calls.

He looks over at Ash. He opens his mouth to say something, but changes his mind and chases after me instead.

Ash sighs as he watches Calem and I. He then turns to Miette. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, Ash. Thank you." She kisses his cheek.

"Pika..." Pikachu sadly looks down to the ground.

Things have only gotten worse than before.

"Serena! Wait up!" Calem calls.

I keep on running. I want to go home. I want to be alone. I have had enough of today.

Calem can run faster than me, so he uses that to his advantage to catch up to me. He grabs my wrist.

"Serena..."

"I-I'm sorry for running off like that..." I sniff.

"Are you going to be okay?"

I slowly nod. "Y-yeah..."

"Are you sure? You don't okay to me."

"I'll be fine, don't worry." I reply. "Thanks for caring, though."

He nods. "Uh, y-yeah. No prob."

"I'll be going now. I want to home."

"You still want me to walk you?"

"No...it's fine. I want to be alone."

"O-okay..." He looks down.

"Sorry..." I release my wrist from his grip and head into the direction of my house.

He sighs as he watches me. He then slips his hands into his pockets and heads home as well.

I barge the door to my house open. My mom notices me and stops her cooking.

"Serena!" She says. "Welcome home! How was your day?"

"I don't want to talk about it." I walk up the stairs, not bothering to look my mom in the eye.

I go into my room and slam the door shut. I throw my bag onto the floor and jump onto my bed. I could feel the tears coming again.
I bury my face into my pillow.

Why is the happening to me? Finding out Miette did it, this day couldn't have gone worse.

Now Ash hates me. He heard everything wrong, and how he hates me. I think back to when Ash yelled at me like that. I never seen him so angry before.

It hurts to hear that from him, especially because I know I still love him.

Ash Ketchum, please come back to me...

The next day...

It is early in the school morning. I am now just arriving at school. I decided not too take the bus, because I didn't want to around anyone.

"Serena!" Dawn runs up to me.

"Hey Dawn..."

"Calem told me everything."

I look up at her. "Huh? Tell you about what?"

"The situation you had with um, Ash and Miette yesterday."

I notice she kind of muttered when she said the 'Ash and Miette' part.

"Oh...did he?" I look down.

I am still not over what happened yesterday. I did not get too much sleep last night, I stayed up all night crying. But I did eventually cry myself to sleep.

"I'm so sorry..." She gives me a hug.

I return the hug.

"Anything I can do to cheer up my best friend?" She asks. "We can go wack Ash, if you want. Or I can go all at it with Miette. Or we can skip school together. You don't look like you are in the mood to be here."

I give her a small smile, but it quickly fades away. "Thanks, but I'll be fine. My mom wouldn't like me to skip school anyways."

"Okay then! How about we go talk with the rest of the gang?" She takes my wrist and drags me to our friends, who are crowded in a circle having a conversation.

They stop talking once they see me arrive. By the looks on the faces of each person, I can tell they already know what happened. Calem must've not only told Dawn, but everyone else as well.

"Serena..." May looks at me in concern.

"Hey guys. I'm doing fine." I give everyone a reassuring smile. "I just don't want to involve you guys in this."

"No, we are definitely involved!" Misty says. "We are your best friends and we will help you!"

"Yeah! I have a bat in my backpack if you need me to hurt someone for you." Drew says.

I sweat drop. "A bat?"

"Arceus...how can Ash be so stubborn. I swear he is going to get a serious beating from me!" Gary says.

"Well, actually I think Miette should get the beating. Everything was caused by her, afterall. Ash is just a little stupid and too oblivious to know what's actually going on." Iris says.

"Anyways, what's up with Calem? He's been quiet all morning." Kenny points over to the boy, who is leaning on a tree doing some of his own thinking.

"Well, he was involved in the situation yesterday." I say. "I guess it's still bothering him."

Gary brings his hand up to his head. "Agh! I can't stand this anymore! I am going to talk to Miette right now." Gary storms off.

"I'm coming too!" Dawn follows him.

I watch as the two head into the school building. I should go with them, but I don't think I could stand seeing Miette again.

I feel really bad for getting them into this. But then again, they are my best friends, and they are looking out for me.

I smile to myself. That is one thing I love about them.

Gary and Dawn decide to go check Miette's locker, since it's the most obvious place to check first.

Turns out they are correct. They find her taking out her books and stuffing them into her bag.

"Yo, Miette!" Gary walks up to her, followed by Dawn.

"Hm? What do you want?"

"Why are you doing all this to Serena?!" Dawn questions.

"What are you talking about?" Miette asks.

"You know what I'm talking about! Just leave Serena alone, she doesn't deserve any of this!"

Dawn and Gary spend a few more minutes confronting Miette about all her doings.

Ash's P.O.V.

I am walking through the halls, on my way to meet Miette. I am a little tired, I had a rough morning.

I woke up to 15 text messages from Misty. They were all on Serena, and how she didn't like the way I'm acting. She said it was all Miette fault, and stuff like that. I also got a few from Iris.

I think they should stay out of this, it's none of their business. Serena was the one who was yelling at Miette from the start anyways, so why the heck are they on Serena's side?!

Then there's Pikachu, who seemed kind of out it ever since last night. He's acting differently, like I did something.

I tried asking him, but he only ignored me. He even gave me a way worse thunderbolt this morning. That thunderbolt felt different than the usual ones, it hurt bad.

"Hey, Pikachu." I call. "Is it okay with you if we go eat lunch later today with Miette intsead of Gary and the others?"

"Pi..." Pikachu sadly looks down.

"I-I guess that's a no?" I question.

"Chu..."

I look at him. "Why are you acting like this? Is it because I'm dating Miette?"

Pikachu doesn't reply, but instead stares off at something in front of him.

"Pikachu? Hello?" I wave my hand in front of him.

"Pika pi!" Pikachu perks his ears and points in front of him.

"Huh?" I find Miette talking to Gary and Dawn.

Why are those two with her? I don't recall them being close friends with eachother, so why?

I could hear their voices from where I am standing.

"Why are you doing such awful things to Serena?" Gary asks.

I step forward to be able to hear better. They are talking about Serena?

"So what, not like I care." Miette shrugs.

"Do you know how much tears she shed after what you did to her?! She was in so much pain!" Dawn says.

What are they talking about? Serena crying? Pain? I'm so confused. I don't know why, but it did kind of hurt to hear that.

Even though the relationship I had with her is long gone, I'm still feeling a little sad to hear stuff like that about her.

From what Dawn is saying, what could Miette have done to hurt Serena?

"She shed that many tears?" Miette begins to laugh. "What a cry baby. Looks like breaking her and Ash up was indeed the best thing I have ever done!" She continues laughing.

My heart suddenly stopped working. Did I just hear that...?

"Pika! Pikachu!" Pikachu tugs the bottom of my jeans.

All the things Misty texted me this morning...it was all true...

I think back to all the times Serena tried to talk to me, but all I would do is push her away and ignore her.

She was trying to tell me it was Miette all along, but I wouldn't listen.

The things Serena told me yesterday...

"You never let me talk! Stop talking like I was the one who started all this, it wasn't! You don't know anything, you don't know what I just been through!"

It all makes sense now. Not only did Miette put her through so much pain, but I did too.

I punch the lockers beside me. I was such a jerk! I feel so awful, I hurt Serena. How could I have not noticed?!

And Miette..why the hell did you do it?!
