Chapter 26

With Gary and the others...

"They're gone!"

"What do we do???" Misty says. "They could be in trouble!"

"Okay, forget about the race! We need to go back and inform the Proffesor!" Calem runs off.

"Right!" May replies and follows Calem back to camp, followed by everyone else.

They get back to camp within 20 minutes. They storm into the building, and go directly to Proffesor Syacmore.

"Proffesor!" May calls out.

"Hm?" He looks at them. "What are you doing here? The finish line is at the end of the forest, not here."

"Forget about that!" Gary slams his fist on the table. "Our friends are in trouble!"

"Trouble? Who?"

"Ash...Serena...Clemont...and Bonnie!" Kenny replies.

"What has happened to them?" Sycamore gets up from his desk.

"Team Rocket happened." Calem grits his teeth at the thought of them.

"Team Rocket?" Syacmore repeats.

"They took their pokemon...then there was and explosion...and they just disappeared into the forest..." Dawn says, worried about her best friend.

"Who knows where they ended up at! They could be hurt!" Barry says.

"No...this is bad." Sycamore takes a cylinder shaped object from his desk drawer.

"What are you doing?" Kenny questions as he watches him.

"With Team Rocket possibly still out there, the other campers are at risk as well. I'm going to fire the emergency signal to stop the race." Sycamore makes his way outside.

Everyone follows him outside, and watches Sycamore fire the signal. The signal fires into the air, and explodes like a firework. A loud noise comes from the signal, loud enough for all the campers to hear.

"Okay, the campers should be making their ways back here now." Sycamore says.

"What about our friends?" Dawn turns to him.

"We are going to send out search teams to look for them." He replies.

"We want to help!" May says.

"Yeah! We were there and couldn't do anything...the least we can do is help look for them!" Calem says.

"I don't know...it gets too dangerous deep in the forest. And team rocket can still be out there." Syamore says.

"Please! They need us!" Dawn says.

"Well...I can't interfere with the bonds of friendship. Very well." He sighs. "But you are to go out in groups, and be back by the time it gets dark."

"Thank you." Gary says and runs off to the east side of the forest with Calem, Drew and Paul.

"Then we will go west!" Misty's team runs the oppisite direction of Gary and the others.

"We'll go north!" May runs off with Iris and Max.

And with that, many search teams were sent out to search for the missing campers.

Serena's P.O.V.

I slowly open my eyes. At first, my vision is blurry. But soon, everything becomes clear. The sky is the first thing I see when I wake up.

I sit up, feeling a little dizzy, and look around me. No one is here, but me. I am still in the forest, but I don't recognize what part of the forest I am at. All I know is that I haven't been here before.

What happened? Where am I? Oh...right. Team Rocket's balloon blew up. We all fell in different directions, so we ended up in different locations. Makes sense why I am in the middle of nowhere.

I try to get up, but only to be stopped by a stinging sensation on my right knee. I look at my knee, to see it badly cut up, blood dripping down my leg.

Now that I have seen my injury, all the pain starts coming.

"Ahh..." I wince as the pain shoots through me like a bullet.

I reach my hand out to touch it, but quickly take it back as the pain grows even stronger when it is touched.

Well, I can't move. Looks like I am stuck here for now. If only I can find something to ease the pain...

I look around me for anything that can help. Instead, I see a small figure not too far away from me. It looks like a pokemon. I squint my eyes to get a better look. Chespin.

I gasp as I see the position he is in. Chespin's head is buried in the ground as its body sticks up. He must've fallen head first to get in this position.

"Ches..." I hear him say.

"Chespin!" I call out and scoot over to him.

It takes me awhile to get to him, because my only way of moving right now is by sliding on my ass.

I take Chespin's body and pull as hard as I can. His head pops out of the hole on the ground.

"Ches?" He shakes his head and looks at me.

I set him down beside me and wipe the dirt from the top of his head.

"Ches chespin!" Chespin jumps, thanking me for helping it.

"You're welcome." I giggle. "Is Clemont with you?"

"Pin pin..." He shrugs, telling me he has no idea.

"I hope everyone is alright..." I sigh.

Ash's P.O.V.

My eyes shoot open. How long have I been out? I sit up, and look around me. Trees, trees everywhere. I look to the right of me, and see a cliff.

My eyes widen as I realize where I am sitting right now. I am sitting at the edge of a cliff.

"Agh!!!" I roll away.

Talk about good luck, I landed right on the edge of it during my fall. If I ended up falling down that thing instead of landing beside it, I'd be done for.

I examine the area around me. No one is here, besides the wild pokemon living in this area. I don't recall being in this area before, so I have no idea what to do.

I begin walking through the forest. Man...I hope everyone is alright. Serena...please be okay. Clemont, Bonnie...and our pokemon too.

I spot a berry bush not too far away from me. Now that I think of it, I am a little hungry. I decide to eat one, because I can't look for the others on an empty stomach.

I reach into the bush to grab a berry. Instead, of getting the texture of the berry in my hand, I get the feeling of a furry object.

"Huh?" I dig into the bush.

I find Dedenne, stuck in between the bush's small twigs. It must've fell into this bush when the balloon exploded.

I carefully remove Dedenne from the bush. I take a look at it in my hands. He is still unconcious from the fall.

I place Dedenne beneath a tree on the ground, and sit beside it.

"Dedenne?" I poke it's cheek. "Are you alright?"

Dedenne doesn't move, and stays unconcious. I take my water bottle out of my backpack. I open it up, and pour a few drops into Dedenne's mouth. That should help a bit.

I lean my head on the tree as I wait for Dedenne to wake up. Now that I think about it, if Dedenne ended up here, that means the other pokemon can be anywhere in this forest.

The one thing I know is that it's going to take forever to look for all of them, especially since I don't know this area of the forest very well.

"Nene..." Dedenne opens its eyes.

"Dedenne! You're up!"

Dedenne's ears twitch once it hears my voice.

"De ne?" It gets up and looks at me.

"Thank arceus..." I sigh of relief.

"Nene..." It looks into the sky, wondering where Bonnie is.

"Hey, I'm sure Bonnie is fine. Everyone else too. Serena, Clemont, Pikachu, Pancham, and Chespin. I bet they are all wandering the forest right now, looking for everyone."

"Nene." It puts its head down, still worried about it's best friend.

"How about we get going? We need to look for everyone else." I get up from the ground.

"De nene!!" The pokemon agrees. It really wants to see Bonnie again. It climbs up my side and sits on my shoulder.

"Okay. Let's get going."

30 minutes of walking later, there is still no sign of anybody.

"Where are they..." I wipe my sweat away from my forehead. If I don't find them by nightfall, things could get really bad.

Then something pops into my head. I still have my other pokemon. I reach into my pocket for my pokeball.

"Fletchinder, I choose you!"

"Fletch!" The pokemon stretches out its wings.

"I want you to go look for the others in the sky. If you find anybody, come straight back."

The pokemon nods, and takes off into the sky. This way, it'll be a lot easier and faster.

"Now all we have to do is wait. You'll see Bonnie soon." I pet Dedenne's head.

"Nene!" It nods.

Fletchinder soars through the sky, keeping its eyes peeled. Somone soon comes to sight. A honey blonde haired girl, and a pokemon.

Fletchlinder chirps and flies back, after realizing the two figures were Serena and Chespin.

"Fletch!" Fletchinder lands in front of me.

"You found someone?" I say, eager to know.

"Fletch fletchinder!"

"Serena and Chespin?" I repeat what my pokemon has said to me. "She's awake, right? Not unconcious or anything?"

"Fletch." Fletchinder nods.

"Thank arceus..." I sigh of relief. "Hey, you did great." I pet Fletchinder's head. "Now can you lead me to her?"

Fletchinder takes off into the air once again, and flies in the direction it saw Serena.

"Okay Dedenne...this person may not be Bonnie, but at least we found somebody." I say as I follow Fletchinder.

"Nene!" Dedenne replies, saying it cares for Serena just as much as it does for Bonnie.

"Yeah...I care a lot about her too. Anyways...let's hurry up and get to Serena."

Clemont's P.O.V.

I don't know how long it has been. I have been walking aimlessly through this forest for who knows how long. I should be finding a way out, but then at the same time I need to look for the others.

Ash, Serena, and the pokemon, I hope they are alright. Bonnie is the one worrying me though. She is very young, and I don't know if she can last very long in this forest. I need to find her before nightfall, because I heard rumours of dangerous pokemon coming out at night.

I also overheard a few campers earlier say that...g-ghosts lurk around here at night. I shudder at the thought of that. I look up to the sky. Judging by the color of it, it should be about 6pm.

"T-there's no such things as ghosts..." I say to myself as I push a branch away from the path. Those kids must've been seeing things.

"Cham..." I hear a voice.

"AGH" I jump. "W-who's there?!"

I-is the g-ghost?! N-no...it couldn't be. Ghosts aren't real, r-right?

The bush in front of me begins to move. The leaves rustle, causing me to get startled and fall back.

"H-hello?" I sit in my spot, too scared to even move.

A figure reveals itself from the bush. I move back, thinking it's one of those ghosts. Instead, the figure falls to the ground.

I slowly walk up to it, shuddering while doing so. The figure becomes clear, and turns out to be...

"Pancham?!" I gasp as I see the state it is in. It is lying on the ground, hurt from the fall. It has taken up the lasts of its strength to walk as far as it can.

I kneel down in front of it and reach into my backpack for a potion. I pour the potion into Pancham's mouth.

"That should help."

"Cham..." Pancham groans.

"You will be fine."

Pancham opens its left eye to look at me, and afterwards closing it again. I should let it rest for awhile.

Not too long later, Pancham finally wakes up. It has regained its strength, and is now able to stand.

"Here, eat this oran berry. It'll help." I hand him the berry.

"Cham!" It thanks me, and takes a bite out of it.

I kneel down and reach into my backpack. I take out a device I have made not too long ago.

"Panch?" Pancham says.

"This is a device I made. Much like the Find-Me-My-Cabin-A-Tron, it will locate Bonnie."

"Cham..." Pancham says in awe.

"Now to turn it on...and input the information..." I mumble. "And there! Let's go!" I run off with my device.

"Pancham!" Pancham follows.

Bonnie's P.O.V.

"Hello??!!" I shout, hoping someone can here me.

Right now, I am on a tree. During my fall, my shirt got caught on it's branch. I am hanging here, stuck until someone helps me.

"Anyone?! Big brother? Ash? Serena?" I call out. "I need help..." I sniff.

The branch I am hanging on snaps, but doesn't fully fall off.

"Agh!" I shriek and brings my hands up to my face, getting ready for the fall.

I slowly lower my hands and open my eyes once I realize that I didn't fall because the branch didn't fully break.

"Thank arceus..." I sigh of relief.

I do want to get down from here, but not by falling off. That'd hurt. I want my brother...

"Pika?" I hear a voice.

Pikachu stands directly below me, tilting it's head as it watches.

"Pikachu! You're okay!"

"Pika!"

"Can you help me down from here? I have been stuck for a very long time."

"Pika pikachu!" Pikachu says that he'd go find help, because breaking the branch would only hurt me.

"Yeah! Okay!" I nod.

"Chu!" Pikachu runs off, looking for any sight of a person.

As he runs off, he senses electricity from his cheeks. Like someone is trying to call him. Pikachu's ears perk up. It's Dedenne.

"Pika!" Pikachu runs in the direction of the electricity. Dedenne's trying to contact him. Maybe he can help.

Serena's P.O.V.

"Ches!" Chespin places a few leaves on my wound, thinking it'd help stop the bleeding.

"Hehe. Thanks." I pet its head.

It's getting dark. The sun is already going down, and soon the moon will come up. I think it'd be a good idea to get going, but I can't get anywhere in my condition.

I put my weight on my right hand and try to stand up.

"Ahh..." I wince.

"Ches?" Chespin holds onto my arm.

"It's no use..." I sigh.

I hear footsteps from behind the trees in front of me.

"Ches?!" Chespin jumps and hides behind my back.

"W-who's there?"

"Pin..." Chespin takes a peek from behind me.

The footsteps get closer, causing the bushes to rustle. All of a sudden a pokemon lands in front of me, causing me to shriek a little.

"F-fletchinder?!" I say surprised once I see Ash's pokemon in front of me.

"Serena!"

Ash shows himself from the bushes. I notice Dedenne on his right shoulder.

"Pin?" Chespin walks away from behind me.

He kneels down and wraps his arms around my back to give me a tight hug.

"A-ash..." I hug him back.

"Thank arceus I found you." He sighs and lets go of me.

"And I'm glad you did." I giggle.

He gives me a warm smile and leans in for a kiss.

"Ches?" Chespin tilts its head as it watches us.

"The others aren't with you?" I look behind him.

"No, but Dedenne sent some electricity to Pikachu, so I hope Pikachu could find his way to us."

He then looks down and notices my knee.

"W-what happened here?"

"I got injured during the fall..." I reply.

"Erg...Team Rocket did this to you...I'm gonna make them pay." He grits his teeth.

He gets up and reaches into my backpack behind me.

"A-ash? What are you doing?!"

I have some stuff in there that I don't want him to see. He comes back with my bottle of water and a hankerchief. Yes, the one he used back when we were kids. I bring it with me everywhere I go, it's like my good luck charm.

"Look what I found!" He waves it in front of me.

He then opens up my water bottle and brings it up to my knee.

"This is going to hurt. Ready?"

"Just get it over with..." I turn my head to the side and close my eyes.

He pours the water onto my wound. I lurch back once the pain hits. It feels even worse than before. I almost pulled my leg back, but Ash held it down with his hand. Chespin grabs a hold onto my arm to help me calm down.

"Ahh...ahh..." I pant.

"You okay? Does it hurt that bad?" Ash gently circles his thumb on my leg.

"N-no, I'm doing great..." I sarcastically say and glare at him.

He playfully roles his eyes and begins wrapping the hankerchief around my knee.

"There. All done. Now can you stand?"

"I-I don't know..." I look down at my knee. It's still in bad shape.

"Let's try."

He takes my hand and tries to help me up. He gets me up an inch from the ground, before I let go of his hand and fall back.

"I can't...my leg can't move." I say.

"Crap. Okay..." He bends down and turns his back towards me. "Get on. I'll carry you. You know, piggyback."

"H-huh?" My cheeks turn pink. "A-are you sure?" I put my hands on his shoulders.

"Well, we have no choice." He replies as he puts both hands under my legs.

Before he can lift me up from the ground, the sound of a voice stops him.

"Pika?"

Ash looks to see Pikachu standing in front of him.

"Pikachu!" Ash says.

"Pika pi!" Pikachu jumps to its trainer. Ash catches him and rubs his cheek against Pikachu's.

"Nene!" Dedenne says.

"Ches!" Chespin adds.

"I'm so glad you're safe, buddy!" Ash chuckles.

"Chuuu!!"

Pikachu hops off Ash and points to a direction in the forest.

"Pika pika pikachu!"

"What? Bonnie needs help? Alright, I'm coming." Ash replies.

He bends down in front of me again. I wrap my arms around his neck and he easily lifts me up with no problem, like I weigh nothing at all.

"Please lead us to Bonnie."

Pikachu nods and runs off, and Ash quickly takes off behind him, followed by Chespin and Dedenne.

We soon get to Bonnie. We find her hanging from a branch on a tall tree.

"Ash! Serena!" She cries. "And Dedenne and Chespin!"

"Bonnie!" I call out to her.

"We are going to get you down, okay?" Ash sets me on the ground.

To our surprise, a familiar face shows up. Clemont makes his way towards us, bringing Pancham along with him.

"You guys! You're all here!" He pants.

"Big brother!" Bonnie says.

"Pancham!" I put my arms out.

He jumps into my arms and gives me a warm hug.

"Cham!!"

"Oh arceus..." Clemont looks at his sister. "Hey, Ash. Do me a favor and make Pikachu use iron tail on the branch when I say so."

"You got it." He nods.

"Okay, Bonnie. Pikachu is going to break the branch. Don't worry, I'm going to catch you."

"W-what?! Big brother that's scary!" She cries.

"You can do it! Get ready!" Clemont says. "Now Ash."

"Right! Pikachu use iron tail!"

"Chu pi!" Pikachu snaps the branch.

Bonnie begins plunging towards the ground. Clemont puts his arms out and successfully catches his sister.

"Big brother!" Bonnie tightly wraps her arms around him for a hug.

"You're okay...you did it." He sighs of relief.

"Nene!" Dedenne jumps to its best friend.

"Hey!!! You guys!!!" A familiar voice says.

Gary, Calem, Drew, Paul and Proffesor Sycamore approach us.

"We found you!" Calem waves.

"Are you guys okay?!" Sycamore says.

"Yeah! We're great! Thank arceus you are here!" Ash waves back.

And there we have it. It is now dark, the day is now over. They are just in time, we are safe. We can now finally get back to camp.
