Serena's Pov

It's been about a week since New Years. Today is Friday, and I'm supposed to go to Ash's house today. Normally I nervous to go to his house because of Delia, but today it's even worse.

I made my New Years resolution to become better friends with Delia, so I'm really going to apply myself to befriend her. I've barely talked to since thanksgiving, but that's ok. I can't blame her for hating me. Ash told me the story about why she didn't like me, and it's really sad.

When Ash's mom met Ash's dad, she was very young. They loved each other at first, but slowly started losing interest. One day, they got a little too carefree, and Delia got pregnant. Ash's father left when he was two.

     I understand why Delia doesn't like ash being in a relationship but were much younger than they were, it's not like we would do that.

Anyway, my plan is to isolate myself with her and try to relate. I asked Ash and apparently his mom liked drama when she was younger. That's my plan for today, so I really hope it'll work.

I throw on my hat and walk out into the freezing cold air, and start slipping on the ice on my porch. I make my way over to Ash's house and knock on the door.

"Hey Serena!" Ash greeted me excitedly

"Hey Ash." I rolled my eyes and went inside.

I could already see Delia looking At me with harsh eyes from the kitchen. This would be hard. Thankfully I had Ash on my side, since I already told him about my plan.

"Hey mom, you used to like doing Drama right?" Ash smiled at me.

"Yea, why?" Delia responded.

"Well, Serena is big into it and I'm sure she would benefit from your experience!" Ash was a good actor.

"Oh. Maybe later" Delia called anxiously from the kitchen.

"Coke on ma! She's leaving in an hour to go to class!" Ash pleaded.

"Uh... Ok." Delia came out and smiled. It was very forced, but it was still a smile.

For the next hour, we shared our stories about drama with Ash moderating. It was great to talk to Delia, and I think she's warming up to me.
