A new breed of deck took nationals by storm. They call it the "Great Whale" and its a very unusual and interesting deck. There's only about 7 pokemon in this deck and no energy. How do you attack? You might ask. The answer is: YOU DONT.

You read that correctly. In fact, you don't even take any prizes. Instead, you use the sheer tankiness of Wailord EX (above) and the magical power of suicunes ability, which prevents damage from all EX pokemon, to out last your opponent- that's right, you deck them out. This is a pain of a deck to play against, for cards like rough seas, max potion and hard charm keep wailord afloat. If it does get knocked out, sacred ash gets it back for you. Cards that get wailord off the field like Cassius and AZ are extremely nice to have. Cards like dowsing machine and vs. seeker are played to keep the supporters coming. Hugh and trick shovel are played to speed up the decking out process. To make it worse, disruption cards like N and startling megaphone are played and energy removal cards like team flare grunt, enhanced hammer, and xeroisc are played to slow your opponent down to a crawl. This is a lot of trainer cards, right? Well, with only 7 pokemon, you have room for 53 trainer cards. Will this deck continue to worlds? Only time will tell.
