For the new dual set, Explosive fighter and Cruel Traitor, Pokemon has brought back an old mechanic we haven't seen in a while: Dual types are back. These cards operate much like Delta pokemon (shown in the picture above) except they don't have a special title. They are simply two types in one pokemon card. This means it can take advantage of more cards (for example, a psychic/fire dual type could take advantage of blacksmith and dimension valley and mystery energy) This also means that dual types have more type weaknesses and advantages. It's an interesting mechanic that pokemon has brought back. It has been confirmed that eight dual type pokemon will be in the set, and so far only three have been revealed; Volcanion EX as fire/water, Shiny M Gaurdivor EX as fairy/psychic and shiny Azumarill as fairy/water.
