Jennifer, Diamond, and Starla, we're now about to enter Guren Forest after filling up their empty bottles with fresh water.

"It's mid-afternoon, so I suggest we travel through here until the sun starts setting and then set up camp and have dinner for the night," Jennifer said."That way, we can get as far as we can for today and make it in time for your contest."

"That sounds good. The contest is in three days," Diamond said.

"We should be out of there before then as long as we don't have any issues getting through here," Jennifer said.

"Meow," Starla cried out.

"Starla, she is not leaving, so please, at least try to pretend to like her," Jennifer sighed, petting Starla's head.

"She must have been hurt pretty bad she doesn't even trust you fully," Diamon commented as Starla smacked away Jennifer's hand.

"Yeah, it was a pretty bad incident," Jennifer said, looking at Starla.

"I'm sure it must have been with her behavior," Diamond said.

"Well, I'm sure you want to hear about Mom," Jennifer said.

"Yeah," Diamond said with a giant smile on her face.

Jennifer told of the fantastic stories her mom always told her about her time in the Pokemon contest.

"Her best performances were with Dustox and Seviper in the Sinnoh Region."

"Wow, Shinnoh, my older cousin Paul is from Sinnoh," Diamond said.

"That's cool. My mom mentioned that name once during her time in Shinnoh before the journeys ended. Still, I don't recall the last region she traveled in," Jennifer said with narrow eyes trying to remember all the regions after Jessie's stories of Shinnoh.

"Really, she met Paul?" Diamon asked."Also, did she tell many stories after Shinnoh that weren't very interesting, so you forgot them?"

"No, it wasn't. That just started having a lot on my mind," Jennifer replied.

Their conversation was put on hold as they heard an angry growl.

"Meow," Starla cried out, looking toward the bushes.

"What was that?" Diamond questioned.

"It seems to be coming from over there," Jennifer said, walking over toward the bushes.

Jennifer, Starla, and Diamond stick their heads through the bushes to see the back of two figures dressed in yellow and black.

They stood before an excellent grass-type canine Pokemon with its back arch growling at the two people.

"Look at it is trying to scare us away," A man said mockingly.

"Hey, leave that Pokemon alone," Jennifer said, glaring at the back of the two people.

"Oh, what are you going to be doing?" The man asked. He turned around.

The man had fair skin with short green hair and light green eyes and seemed only 18 years old. He was wearing a long sleeve yellow shirt with a large black 'S' on it. As well as black pants and matching boots. To top it off, he had on a yellow kepi hat.

The person next to him also turned around and seemed to be the same age as the man but was a female. She had shoulder-length orange hair and purple eyes. She also had a large black S on her yellow dress.

"Hey Anna, look at her Pokemon. We should steal it along with the pack," The man said.

"You know Robert, not a bad idea. It could get us a promotion," Anna said with a smile.

Jennifer narrowed her eyes at these words. Diamond studied their uniforms, wondering who these two people were.

"Alright, little girls, hand over the Pokemon," Robert said."If you don't, we won't hesitate to get violent," He said, reaching into his pocket.

"I never give away Starla or any of my Pokemon!" Jennifer snapped as she stepped before Starla and grabbed a Pokeball from her jacket.

"Me either. That is like giving up on my dream," Diamond said, reaching into her skirt pocket.

"Fine then, time to use this Aipom I stole!" Robert yelled as he threw a Pokeball.

A simian Pokemon with three fingers and a black fist at the end of its tail. It has brown fur, while the skin of its face, inner ears, belly, feet, and its tail is salmon. Its face was full of rage and fear. It had round black eyes with rounded ears. It had a long cowlick at the top of its head. Its arms were short brown stubs.

"Go, Ace!" Jennifer said, sending out Croling.

Before Jennifer could tell Acr to do anything, she and Diamond heard a voice yell wait. They turned to see Roy running towards them.

"What up, Roy?" Jennifer asked.

"Those two stole my Solan Aipom while I wasn't looking!" Roy yelled.

"What?" Jennifer said, surprised.

"So that's why the Aipom seems so angry and scared," Diamond commented.

"Oh man, it's that kid! Alright, Anna, help me out!" Ribert yelled.

Anna nodded, and there was her Pokeball. A cute purple and white mouse.

Jennifer quickly scanned the Pokemon with her pokedex.

"Solan Aipom, the Long Tail Pokemon. A rock and Fire type. This Pokemon body is made to adapt to the harshness of the heat of mountains in the Sola Regions. When angry, they can be quite aggressive and uses the rock fist on their tail to strike their opponents."

"Mysmo, the Aura Mouse Pokemon. A Normal and Psychic type. Its body releases off an aura that allows it to sense the presence of other Pokemon or people in its territory. The female has longer whisker than the male."

Jennifer then turned to Roy, putting away her pokedex."Do you want to help or leave it to me and Diamond?"

"I help," Roy said, taking out a Pokeball."Go, Sauflora!" He yelled, sending out his starter Pokemon.

"I get the wild Pokemon to safety," Diamond said softly.

Jennifer and Roy nodded as Diamond crept down and started walking off.

"I take Robert; you take Anna. Don't worry, Aipom will ne fine," Jennifer said.

"Alright, I trust you to save her," Roy said.

"Ace, get Aipom away from him and to safety!" Jennifer shouted.

"Croling!" Ace yelled.

Ace flew over towards Aipom and grabbed the tail with his talons.

"Aip?" Aipom asked, confused.

Ace flew toward Jennifer and tossed her safely into Jennifer's arms.

"Hey, you can't take that Aipom!" Robert shouted.

"You stole her from Roy, so yeah, I can take her back from you," Jennifer stated.

Robert growled."Fine, who needs that Aipom? Go Glameow!" He yelled, throwing his Pokeball. A grey cat with a swirling tail came out.

Jennifer took out her pokedex and scanned it.

"Glameow, the Catty Pokemon. With its sharp glare, it puts foes in a mild hypnotic state. It is a very fickle Pokemon. When happy, Glameow demonstrates beautiful movements of its tail like a dancing ribbon."

"Ok, Jenny, you should be a Pokemon professor instead," Roy commented.

"Glameow Scratch!" Robert said.

Glameow ran towards Ace with its claw out.

"Ace, dodge, and use Gust!" Jennifer yelled.

Ace flew up into the sky, dodging the Scratch, and then flapped his wi,ngs sending a mighty wind at Glameow. Glameow couldn't dodge and got sent crashing into a tree.

"Glameow, use Quick Attack!" Robert yelled.

Glameow ran towards Ace at full speed and jumped into the air, and slammed its body into him. Both Pokemon fell to the ground but quickly got back up.

"Ace, Wing Dive!" Jennifer commended.

Ace flew up into the sky quickly and then started flying down toward Glameow at full speed, with his wing glowing blue as he slammed it into Glameow's head, causing it to faint.

"Glameow, no!" Robert shouted."Return," He said as he called it back to its Pokeball.

The battle between Roy and Anna was coming to an end.

Both Pokemon were tired, but it was clear Roy and Sauflora were winning.

"Sauflora, Razor Leaf!" Roy yelled.

Sauflora swung its wings and sent sharp leaves flying toward Mysmo.

"Mysmo, use Disarming voice!" Anna commended.

Mysmo let out a loud cry as pink waves came from its mouth straight for Sauflora, but It dodged and sent more leaves at Mysmo, sending it flying into Anna's arms.

"Mysmo, return," Anns said as she called Mysmo back.

Anna and Robert looked at each other and then behind them to see the wild Pokemon were gone and started to run off."Fine, you win, but we'll steal your Pokemon another time!" Robert shouted.

Roy approached Aipom and picked her up from Jennifer's arms."I'm so glad you are safe, friend."

"How comfortable is the heat from hot rock Pokemon like Solan Aipom?" Jennifer asked.

"Very hot," Roy answered."Thank you for saving Aipom Jenny."

"No problem. I know that you have been friends since you saved her from drowning, and she has stayed at your mom's lab since then," Jennifer replied.

"Well, I should get going. Bye, Jenny, until we run into each other again," Roy said as he started to walk away.

Jennifer heard rustling and turned to see Diamond walking back from out of the bushes with Starla looking at her.

"You got them out of here?"

"Yeah, I even caught one of the younger ones. The leader was grateful and allowed me to catch one," Diamond said, holding up a Pokeball.

"Nice, we should get going. The sun will set soon, so let's try to get a bit more farther out," Jennifer said.

'I still don't know who those two were, but they definitely won't be the same hunters from as a kid. Those guys were dressed differently from that man in that suit back, and the ones with him wore blue.' Jennifer thought, confused about who they were fighting.

Diamond nodded, and they both started walking out of the clearing and back down the pathway.

After a few more hours of walking, they stopped near a stream in an open clearing, and Diamond set up their campsite as Jennifer started warming up the containers of premade soup her mom had made.

"Alright, eat up, and then call it a night," Jennifer said, giving her Pokemon their food and a bowl of soup to Diamond.

Soon as everyone was done eating. Jennifer, Diamond, and their pokemon got into the tent and were ready for bed. Tomorrow morning they would continue the journey out of Guren Forest.
