December 16, i had waited weeks for this moment, un-boxing pokemon Omega Ruby. I turned my 3DS on and started the game, watching the before game intro. I pressed start. I was greeted with the original Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald start screen. Which turned out to be the character playing on their PokeNav+, upon seeing the select gender screen i chose May, or the female rival/player, i typed my name in. H-e-a-t-h-e-r, Heather. Already i was hyped. 

Going through the whole intro, walking into Brendan's room, the male rival/player, i went to exit the town. Upon doing so, their was text that was somebody screaming for help. No surprise, Prof. Birch. 

After given instructions on where to get the pokemon, i opened the briefcase. There they were, in 3-D, Treeko, Torchic, and Mudkip. I touched Treeko's pokeball, i liked Treeko, but no. I scrolled to Torchic, i already had seen Mega Blaziken, plus, it evolves to get the fighting type, so original. Then i landed on Mudkip, who was the one i had chose. After utterly destroying the Poochyena, the professor insisted i come back to his lab. 

In doing so, he gave me the pokemon. I was asked if i wanted to nickname it, yes. K-e-v-i-n, Kevin, was the name i put. After selecting that i was sure about the name, i was given my pokedex. One rival battle and multiple story line and how to play scenes later, i was finally free to go. I had already caught the DexNav Poochyena that knew one of the elemental fang moves, which one it was depended on who you picked. It was female, and knew Fire Fang. 

I reached Petalburg Woods, i had caught a few more pokemon, my team was;

Maddie, Poochyena, lv.8

Kayla, Tailow, lv.6

Marley, Zigzagoon, lv.2

Mushi, Shroomish, lv.5

My team was good, then i ran into the first of many Team Magma grunts i would encounter. Then i left the woods.

By now my team was looking amazing, i had just gotten my 5th badge, the Balance Badge. Kevin had evolved into Swampert, the almighty destroyer of Pikachu. My team now was;

At this time, i was off to Fortree, not knowing that something was wrong.

It was after the game, end credits. Kevin had been on my team the whole way, but now, it was time to retire, i had caught all the legendary pokemon, trained up my pokemon, heck, i had a Mudkip at level 68! I went to push the power button, but i heard something. Kevin's cry. I looked at the screen, i was in the pokemon center, sitting, like i left it. 

I went to turn the volume off, thinking it was a glitch, and pressed the power button. It stayed on, the screen went black, then a white text box with black letters appeared. "Heather, where are you going?" the game screen had the text on it, "Um, im going to turn you off now" i pressed the button again. This time, the screen changed, showing Kevin, his 3-D model, like in pokemon amie. Staring at me, with sad eyes, "Dont go, please" he talked. Kevin TALKED. I checked, the volume was off. 

"Wh-what?" "Please, stay, it gets so lonely without you" it then showed the gym battles, and major story events, everything, Kevin was in every single one. "Please...." i looked at him, i touched the screen, and it shocked me. It turned off, but not before Kevin's cry played. 

Saturday morning, i woke up, groggy. Odd, this wasnt my room, it looked exactly like..."Good morning!" i looked over, Kevin was standing their. I was in the game. "How?" "You were going to leave, so i brought you here, now you can play forever!" "Kevin, i always come back to play, but, i have family, school, i cant stay here!" i got off the bed, i was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, the t-shirt was faded, and had faded mud stains on it, the jeans did too. 

"Heather, this was your dream! To live in this world!" "What happens when the 3DS runs out of power?" "Oh, we live like you do, usually the only thing that happens is the player stops moving, and stays completely still. When turned back on, they can move again, but YOU are the player, and now, you can never leave" Kevin's last few words were dark, "But, Kevin!" "Shhh...." he looked up at me, "Come on, Wally made plans!" "Wally?" "Yes, the NPCs all have minds like the players, there is a reason he acted like he did, Wally doesnt act like that in other games, unless, he likes the player, Brendan is the same." the entire time, i thought he was just shy. 

We stood outside the house, i went through my bag, which was a large worn leather satchel, slung over my shoulder. I found what i was looking for, the Eon Flute. "Where to Kevin?" "Mauville" "Got it" i played the flute, i had never played a flute in my life, but i played this like i had owned it for years. Latios flew down, i hopped on, Kevin returning to his pokeball. "This might not be so bad" 

Two years, i had been in the game for two years. I wanted to go home, Wally was nice, i loved training and battling with Kevin, not just through a screen, but, i missed my family. "Kevin, im sorry..." i looked over at the sleeping water type, and jumped out the window, i played the flute. I had left everything back there, even my Mega Bracelet. Latios flew down, not mega evolving like usual, i told him everything. Latios understood, he at least got to see Latias, he knew i wanted to go home. 

As we flew, i looked down at Hoenn, it was truely beautiful. Then, Latios dodged something. "What?" i looked behind me, behind us was Delta, my Rayquaza, below was Omega, my Groudon, and on Delta was Kevin. "You shouldnt have done that..." his eyes were black, his blue coloring was ghostly pale, his fins darker grey, and his gills, they were blood red. Then he jumped, he could FLY.

"Latios! Fly!" Latios took off, knowing Delta would catch up, he made sure to change routes constantly. Then, i felt ice. Kevin had landed an Ice Punch, Latios had the freeze debuff. We fell, i hit the water, it felt more like stone. I surfaced, Latios was in the air, but being held by Delta. "You arnt going anywhere, you are my best friend, and you will be mine, FOREVER" that last word, i passed out.

"Hey! I found her 3DS!" my brother opened the screen, there i was, in my outfit, next to Kevin, who was back to normal, i looked straight up at him, then Kevin spoke, in text of course. "Ah, your her brother, you know me, Kevin, and sorry Heather cant talk right now" "When is she coming home?" i looked up, my eyes were pitch black voids, skin ghostly pale, "She is already is home, and she will NEVER leave me again" Kevin turned back to the pale form he had, the screen then held static. 

The 3DS never ran out of power, and the static never changed, all that was there was a picture, of me, my brown eyes void of expression, standing there, lifeless, as Kevin's doll.
