Harry paced the floor while Mcgonnagall and Ginny eyed each other wearily. "Mr. Potter will you please stop pacing?!" Harry jumped and slowly sat next to his fiancé who put her hand on his forearm comfortingly. "Don't worry love Ron will be here soon." They had been waiting for Ron to arrive for half an hour, until he came they would not know what Mcgonnagall summoned them for.
    Suddenly green flames erupted from the fireplace and Ron stepped out dusting soot form his shirt. Ginny stood up and smacked the back of his head. "Where have you been?! We've been waiting for you for half an hour!"
    "Ow! Gin! Relax I was with Lavender!" Harry wrinkled his nose in disgust but quickly hid it with a pat on Ron's shoulder. Mcgonnagall shook her head and stood. "Now that you are all here we can begin. We all know how proud and sometimes insufferable Severus can be; so he won't accept your help in finding Ms. Granger. However he can't stop you if he doesn't know you're there. Meaning you will follow him in secret. Don't give me that look Mr. Potter. I know that Severus is a very talented spy and that it is foolish to attempt to follow him. I am going to ignore that and hope that you will try to remain hidden while following him on his search for Ms. Granger. Knowing her she has most likely already give him a clue."
     The three former students were silent as they thought of what Mcgonnagall was asking of them. Harry spoke first. "So you want us to spy on a former spy? Forgive me for saying so but that's near impossible." Ron nodded in agreement. "Snape was a double agent for the two most powerful wizards in the world. How do you expect us to pull this off?" Ginny sighed and looked at Mcgonnagall. "I'm sorry but we must decline Professor."
     Mcgonnagall eyes the three of them and walked to the right side of her desk. "I think you misheard me. There was no option. You are going to follow Severus wether you three want to or not. Severus will refuse to say this but he needs your help and so does Ms. Granger."
    Harry nodded knowing there was no point in arguing with the head of Gryffindor house. Arguing with her was like arguing with a hungry lion over a zebra. Pointless and dangerous. Ron looked at Ginny silently pleading for her to disagree but found her nodding as well. His shoulders dropped as he nodded in final agreement. "Good now off you go. Severus will most likely be leaving first thing tomorrow morning. Good luck."
      Ron grumbled as he joined Ginny and Harry in the fireplace. In a burst of bright green flames they were gone. Mcgonnagall sat down and prayed to the heavens. Please lord have Severus be merciful on them.

Dawn the Next Morning

Severus ran a hand through his hair as he placed his now tiny suitcase in his pocket and grabbed his wand. He had sent a letter to Mcgonnagall making her aware of his absence last night. Severus breathed in the early morning air as he walked to a secluded alley and opened the boos showing the first clue. His first thought was Malfoy Manor but Hermione wouldn't be there giving that the Manor wasn't used as a death eater hangout. Also the fact that the Malfoys had as some would say given up there muggle born hating ways.
     His plan was to go to the bookstore in Diagon Alley in hopes the owner would know where the mansion was located. Severus closed the book and apparated to the entrance. He lifted his wand and lightly tapped the bricks causing a gateway to form. Severus's head jerked to look behind him as he heard something clatter on the ground. Probably a stray cat or a rat. He shook his head and walked into Diagon Alley.

Harry, Ron, and Ginny cautiously followed Severus as he apparated to the entrance to Diagon Alley. "What is he doing?" Ron quietly whispered. Ginny rolled her eyes. "He's about to enter Diagon Alley you idiot!" Harry shushed them angrily. They watched as he tapped his wand on the bricks and the gateway opened. Ron was about to get up but his wand dropped to the ground causing a clatter to echo. They ducked behind around the corner as they say Severus's head jerk their way.
Ginny let out a breath she was holding while Ron picked up his wand. "That was close." Harry waited for Severus to walk through the gateway then he motioned for Ron and Ginny to follow behind him. "Why would the unsociable dungeon bat come here?" Ron asked looking at the familiar shops. Harry shook his head. "I've told you to stop calling him that. He's not the man we thought he was." Ron shrugged.
They walked for a couple minutes following Severus's flowing black cloak. Eventually, he stopped and turned right towards Flourish and Blotts. Severus immediately entered and was unknowingly followed by his three former students.
