History

"Oh Lord! We got History!" I exclaimed.

"Come on Dawn it's not that bad." My best friend Xavier said.

He is from the Dominican Republic; he has cream colored skin, smooth silky short black hair, and what can be considered a baby face and he has dimples. He is about 5' 10" and slim built. We have been friends since kindergarten and he is always optimistic, even if we are going to the worst class of the day. Or I should say the worst teacher.

Ah yes, Mrs. Taylor. She is just grotesque. She has enough meat on her body to feed the five thousand, and her skin is dark as night. She has a very round face, a pug nose, thin lips, crocked yellow teeth and a massive mole right under her nose. Her eyes look like they are about to shoot out of their sockets, she spits every time she talks and has the most dreary voice in all of history!

"'Vier you know who we have next, 'bad' is hardly the word to use, 'cruel' is more like it." I said

"Enough with the big words and get into class, we are already late"

So we rushed into class hurrying to our seats. As always class was uneventful and boring. I was half asleep when suddenly, half way through the class Mrs. Taylor fainted, fell face down on the floor! When she hit the ground it was like an earthquake ran through the class! The students were instantly quiet; you could hear a pin drop in the class. Idid the first thing that came to my head; I took out my phone and started filming.. Xavier (or Vier as I call him for short) pitched up out of his seat ran over to Mrs. Taylor and began to check her pulse.

"I'm not feeling any pulse!!! Well don't just stand there! Someone call the principal, and some of you boys come over here and help me to roll her over to do CPR!"

The brain can only go eight minutes without oxygen and it took the boys about five minutes just to roll Mrs. Taylor's arm over. As soon as they did Vier started with the CPR, but I knew deep down that she was gone. It felt like an eternity but the paramedics finally arrived and it took about twelve strong men to get her out to the ambulance.

Later that day, we heard that Mrs. Taylor had passed away. Vier caught me in the hallway.

"Hey Dawn, did you hear?" he said gloomily.

"Yeah, I feel so terrible. I mean she keeled over right in front of us."

"I know right. Poor Mr. Taylor must be feeling miserable!"

"Honestly, he is probably rejoicing."

He punched me in the arm.

"Ow! Hey I'm just being a hundred and ten percent honest."

Mr. Taylor was also teacher; he was a complete one-eighty degree turn compared to his wife, he was interesting, fun and energetic. I honestly have no idea how in the world He ended up with someone like Mrs. Taylor, and the weirdest thing is he never complained. He would always say things like 'I'm blessed to have her' and 'She can't be beat' and he would smile and walk away. He probably was hurting though I can only imagine. So Vier and I decided to pay him a visit to give our condolences and to comfort him.

As we approached Mr. Taylor's house I was starting to have unease about the situation. Cumulonimbus clouds started to roll in from seemingly "nowhere". Wind speeds picked up and the thunder started to growl. It was evident that there was a storm coming. I opened the rickety old gate and walked onto the gravel. My gut was telling me to turn back, something wasn't right. We however, walked onto the dilapidated porch infested with termites. Vier was about to knock when he noticed that the door was cracked open.

"We should probably leav...." I started

However, in that moment the heavens opened and the wind direction changed causing torrents of rain to douse us. We ran inside seeking shelter.

"Mr. Taylor!?" I yelled

Xavier went further into the house calling out for Mr. Taylor. I looked around at the living room. It was an old Victorian house; the living room was very vintage. 'CREEK'. I nearly jumped out of my skin. There was a rocking chair in the corner that started to rock on its own!

"DAWN!!!!" Xavier screamed to the top of his lungs!

I sprinted to the hallway where he was. I will never ever forget what I saw in that hall that faithful day. My eyes widened and I clasped my hands over my mouth. There was Mr. Taylor hanging from the ceiling with a pool of blood underneath him! His arm was bloody and there was a knife in the tarn of blood. On the wall "I DID IT" was written in blood. There was a note left on the table. It read:

To whom it may concern,

If you have found this, chance is, I'm already dead. People may be wondering why I did this. Truth is, I hated my wife with a passion. She was rude, hideous, and nagging! I asked her numerous times for a divorce but she wouldn't sign the stupid papers! She still believed that we could "make it work" when she knew we were done! I had had it with her; I had to get rid of her. So I poisoned her. However, I made a fatal mistake; I accidentally used a poison that is traceable. There is no way I'm going to jail. So I apologize to my family and my students, I hope one day you will forgive me.

Sincerely,

Edward Taylor.
