Epilogue~The Glue
Ava Paige scanned the Glade from the screens. She felt confident in her research mission. She watched the boys mourn over the death of the beloved Audrey Harrison. The boy they called Newt seemed to have never ending tears. Nevertheless, she admired the way they mourned. Burying the sweet girls body, placing flowers over the fresh dirt, a simple wooden cross stuck into the first to symbolize she was now someone else's. She watched closely as they all spoke words of appreciation to the loving girl she had watched grow up.
She carefully watched Newt, he had always been a huge priority after he thought such dark thoughts, in which lead to thinking about ending his life in the maze all those months ago but Audrey had stopped those thoughts. Ava Paige liked how he smiled when Audrey said something rather odd.
The next morning, Ava Paige watched as the boys, Minho and Ben carried James' body out into the maze. It was just a matter of time until the nasty robotic monsters got to him and took him away. This time around, no one smiled or laughed or used the slang they had created, everyone was crushed.
Audrey Harrison's dear friends, Thomas and Teresa payed some respects as they watched the small burying of the friend they had so closely been with. This death affected everyone and Ava Paige couldn't be more pleased.
At the end of it all, Ava Paige and some of WICKED's doctors gathered around and kept they're tired eyes on the screens.
It was time to erase everyone's memories of Audrey and James, but most importantly the only girl to set foot in the maze...of course that was just for now.
Slowly all the boys began to forget the terrible clash of feelings toward the only girl they ever remember meeting. Minho had forgotten the only greenie he called by name, Gally forgot about how he truly thought Audrey was good, Alby only remembers witnessing Matt's death but it was by a Griever sting and Newt, precious Newt. Ava Paige remembered Audrey sneaking in to visit the feverish boy. She watched his eyes turn to pale and his heart being stitched up. He doesn't remember having his first kiss or the touch of her skin against his.
The pain of her death would live on but the memory of her physical features would seize to exist. As of now, Audrey Harrison never existed.
