My friend was having a birthday party on this past Saturday. We were going to one of those escape room things (an escape room is this place where you get trapped in a room and you have to use clues to escape. I did it one time and it was fun) and then afterwards we would've gone to Kobe's, an (expensive) Asian cuisine restaurant. Then on Thursday, my mom said when we (me and my sister) got home from school that we needed to pack because our family was going to a hotel. This was the first time I heard we were going anywhere. I told my mom about the party and she said we wouldn't be back in time.
But wait, there's more!
Friday morning, my youngest sister was crying because she couldn't go see the new cats movie with her friends. To which I said, I can't go to an escape room and Kobe's, and you're crying about not seeing that creepy cats movie? or something along those lines. When my mom came home from school, my youngest sister wasn't there. Apparently her friends were having a sleepover after seeing the movie and she got someone to take her to the friend's house. Me and my sister were mad because she was throwing a fit all morning, just to be rewarded with going to see the movie.
But wait, there's still more!
Friday afternoon we drove to the hotel. It was a good 2 hours away from our house. I heard the same 5 trash songs way too many times. It was cold and windy there, so not the most pleasant of weather. Turns out, we were only staying for only one night. ONE NIGHT. So the reason I couldn't go to the escape room is because we wouldn't drive back in time. Considering the 2 hour drive, I honestly don't see any reason why we should've gone (except to pick up my brother, who was there for the past few days. My dad dropped him off Tuesday or Wednesday night and drove back home).
On Saturday morning, we were packing up to leave (even though there was hardly anything to pack, we still took long), my sister got a notification on her tablet that she got an email from my sister at the sleepover (their tablets don't have a texting service, so they have to email each other to "text") and she just so happened to hear the notification noise. In the email she asked if we could pick her up at 11:30. (The original plan was that her friends would be done with the sleepover at 1.) Now keep in mind, it's currently 10 ish at the hotel. My sister told my mom and she said "does she know where we are?" She was also confused why emailed my sister instead of borrowing someone's phone to call her. My dad, who was driving far, couldn't pick her up either. So she had to stay at the friend's house until we got there at 2:30 ish. I asked her "how was the movie?" and she said she was confused about what happened.
Last part, I promise!
Then my friends sent pictures of them at the escape room (they made it out with 3 minutes to spare) and I felt so left out and also like a bad friend who couldn't go to the party. It still bums me out when I see the pictures.
Oh yeah, and I'm still pissed off (sorry for bad language) about this whole situation.
