SUMMER

It's time for me to face a brand new day.
I open my window to see the sun rays.

It softly touches my skin, I feel so alive!
I embrace this warm moment to revive.

My once dark world lost it's pitch black.
As the strength of me is coming back.

Coming back to me with a better light.
I am stronger now and could take a fight.

I could grab the most mightiest rope.
Because I believe there's a hope.

A hope for myself to easily move on.
Letting go the past I couldn't hold on.

Our past that haunts me everyday.
Without you, there's no reason to stay.

For you were nothing but a cold winter.
It freezes my heart with an icy splinter.

Our love froze in the night of December.
Leaving me alone is only I remember.

I couldn't stay long in our bitter memory,
choosing to close it with another story.

Because I'm the author of my new life,
tearing the old pages of us with a sigh.

I'm not afraid to create my own draft.
Someday I would master my great craft.

I can have my one happily ever after.
Looking forward to the final chapter.

I need to breathe for the better.
Facing all of these in the new summer.

A/N : Honestly, this wonderful piece is really special for me. Because "Summer" is a symbol of hope and a new beginning of life. Well at least for me, it is. And everyone can relate to this aspiring poem!
