The Adventurer
"Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;"
You are a myth, a campfire story, a being of fright.
Something stronger than iron, tougher than nails,
with a will made of stone, and your rumors and tales.
Your wit that is sharper than your sword made of steel,
your kingdom could have fallen but still you would refuse to kneel.
Wandering the land with magic and mayhem,
with armor and eyes brighter than any other gem.
An adventurer you are as you plunder from tombs,
with bravery and cunning, no matter how close danger looms.
They call you wild and cunning; you take every quest.
The respect you have earned with those you impress.
Although some insult you, look down because of what you are. but have they saved Princes, cast spells, or befriended dragons that were worth every scar? They fear the unknown, the adventure of life.
Above all they fear you, a girl, with spirt that gives them nothing but strife.
So I've been really into Borrowed line poems recently. When you take a line from another poem, and use it for the first line in your poem.
This one's quoted line is from 'A Prayer In Spring' by Robert Frost
This was my atempt at a not so depressing poem because my friends are worried about my current level of angst...
Instead of the light fluffy, happy thing I was trying for. I got anger? Maybe empowerment? A dash of girlpower or maybe feminism?
I was kinda thinking of like an epic story with knights, magic, dragons, beasts, treasure, sword fights, and of course no one thinks a girl would be good at that and boom! Thus it was born...
Is it good? Okay at least?
I'm thinking about taking requests, they might not be good but.... I'll try! Soooo give me a theme or a sentence or something like that and a poem style (like haiku, or limerick or something) and I'll try my best!
