While you pushed me away I was in pain,
Hurting each and everyday.
That when you walked away I didn't no longer want to stay.
I was shattering, breaking, and washing away.
The sea was drowning me,
and I was not the person you were going to save,
instead you pushed me deeper and deeper,
until my lungs yearned to breath,
that when I stopped kicking you let go,
and let the ocean take me.
You never looked back at my glossy eyes pointed towards the sky,
Instead you kept swimming away,
leaving me to monsters of the sea.
Then I realized I was the one who could do my own saving,
that if I'd only kick my legs and break them free of the seaweed,
I'd survive even if I believed it was only you who could make me okay.
That's the day I looked back at the beach, and not at you,
and swam away to a destiny where I only relied on myself to save me.
Because love can be both the destruction and rebuilding of things.
So as I sit on the beach,
I finally let you leave me,
because your name will never sit with my thoughts ever again.
This time I'll make it harder to reach the key to my hearts door,
even if the hinges have became a little rusty.
Only the biggest of the sea waves could crash,
and open this sea hearts door from this day to eternity.
