Did you gaze at the stars and wonder how far away we are from each other, even though we sit in the same room,
but it wouldn't matter if we were a galaxy away it would still feel this way.
I try not to hate you for the things you did to me,
but the truth is when I look into your face,
I see the person who once loved me and took me in their arms.
The person who hid me from my own harm,
but now the man that looks away at the stars is different.
They did say things would change as we got older.
I play with the ring on my finger knowing exactly what it means,
that I'm yours and you are mine,
but if that's true why did you break down my walls and strip me of my happiness?
Why did you beat my heart into submission and leave it broken?
Why do you look away?
Because I'm the start to your outerspace,
the walk to your Milky Way,
but yet you search for other things to take up your time,
even though I'm more than willing to forgive you,
because that's what love does,
it doesn't hold grudges or let hate rule,
but yet you stand in no mans land,
then you expect me to hold your hand.
All I ask is for you to be in the same Galaxy.
The stars can't grant you wishes,
so why can't you see everything you wished for is here right in the palm of your hand?
Turn and face me,
I don't ask you to change,
because I wouldn't make you do a thing that I wouldn't do myself,
just give us time to forget the crimes.
Let's us be each other's stars again,
because gravity will soon bring us back down to our earthly ground.
