Pink Carnation
I really don't mean for the poems I write to be so gloom, but losing a loved one can be hard. It's been said to me many times by family members and friends that it hurts because of the many memories that we've shared.
I think that's an important message that needs to be said. Losing a loved one hurts so much because how much love was shared. Every relationship is different. Whether it be a friend, a family member, or someone you knew, if that person has touched you in some way and passes onto the next life, it's going to hurt.
Just remember...It's okay to cry. It's okay to feel empty on the inside. It's okay to grieve. Grief comes in many forms, and you need it to take it's path. But, in the midst of it all, you need to know that you are loved. Surround yourself with loved ones in times of grief because that person wouldn't want to see you in pain, but it's okay. That's part of the healing process.
So once again, I would like to dedicate this to anyone who's struggling through the loss of a loved one like I am right now. I know how hard life is right now. But we have to keep moving on. It hurts, but that's because they loved us so much. Just don't you ever forget that.
Here, I present to you, a short poem called "Pink Carnation."
Pink carnation in my hand
Why did you have to go?
My heart's heavy with remorse
Pink flower in my hand
It's beauty was short lived
Just like the one I loved
Pink carnation in my hand
Looking down at the stone
Reminiscent of the past
Pink flower in my hand
While tears sting my eyes
Why did you say goodbye?
Pink carnation in my hand
As I laid it on the grave
Longing for one more smile
