Knight In Shining Armor

When I get in my bed at night

and take a book to read,

at the table on my right

stands a warrior steed.

A noble knight does sit astride,

his armor is so bright -

just a very tiny toy

protects me till the light.

A four-inch bit of plastic

iridescent and blue-green,

I know it sounds fantastic

but he does a noble deed.

My knight in shining armor,

so manly and so strong

my little plastic charmer

guards -

until you come along.
