The Edge

I stand here on the edge
Looking out at the world
At the perfection I see before me
The place I want to go

I look for a way to get closer
And spot a little path
From up here it looks straight and narrow
Hiding the struggles that will come and go

I step onto the path
And realize it's a rocky road
Bumps and rocks and ditches
But the view makes it worth it though

I fall down and struggle to get up
I don't know where to go
Then I realize I still have signal
Just ask someone who'd know

Going forward again
I grow tired and feel dejected
Will I ever reach my destination
Or will my efforts forever be rejected

Although this path is hard
Pushing me beyond my limits
It will be worth it when I reach the end
To be able to say I did it
