I Remember

I remember your excitement,
When you went to visit the first time.
How your were unsure how to greet him,
Hug or handshake or something else to make this rhyme.

I remember the mall trips
And babysitting your cousins at the park.
The flirting and jokes
And when he held your hand you felt a spark.

I remember your blushing face
And smile when he said he'll come say goodbye.
And finally when you told me about your relationship,
How you were a little shy.

"Why did you tell her I'm a player and warn her about me?"

I also remember how he flirted with you,
Then pretending it never happened.
How he made plans to spend time with yoy,
And didn't show up, never having canceled.

How he never spoke to you,
Until you were due to visit.
How he played with your feelings and reeled you in,
Knowing you wouldn't resist.

I remember your tears and confusion,
How he messed with your head.
How I wished you didn't like him,
But anyone else instead.

Why did you tell her I'm a player and warn her about me?"

Did I tell you he flirted with me
And told me about a lot of other girls.
How he bragged about getting what he wanted,
The thought of that happening to you gives me chills.

How he falls in and out of love continuously,
Displays it on social media.
How there are some things I can't tell you,
Because if I do it will destroy ya.

I warned you because I love you,
You are my best friend.
I'd rather be up front with you,
I'd rather not pretend.

Yes, I am happy for you,
And I hope you last.
But seriously if he hurts you,
He'd better hope he's fast.
