This poem is about fitting in. I wrote it a few weeks after starting school. I felt out of place. Like I didn't belong. But now, things are getting better.

Integration,

As small a word it may be,

Its great diversity you shall see.

Integration,

A word so difficult to do.

Integration, fitting in.

We struggle day and night,

Just to fit in,

To be accepted, to be with family.

The feeling of oneness.

We bare our souls to others,

Just to feel it.

Integration,

Wanting to blend in,

Like the wind among the trees,

Rustling the leaves,

Disturbing the silence.

Integration,

Wanting to mix together,

Like the individual colours,

Blending together to form a rainbow.

Integration,

The desire to harmonize as one,

Like the different notes,

Coming together to form a melody.
