This is a poem I wrote in my creative writing class as we are doing a unit on poetry. We were asked to write haikus with multiple stanzas.This is what I came up with.

If someone asked me

What my biggest mistake was

If only I knew

Like everyone else

I have made many mistakes

But nothing too bad

If someone asked me

What my biggest regret was

If only I knew

Like everyone else

I also have my regrets

But they can't hold me

Mistakes and regrets

We shouldn't let them define

Who we really are

Because everyone has

Mistakes and regrets

It's just how life works

Little things seem big

But to everybody else

Those things are smaller

Say you lied to mom

You may feel really guilty

No one has to know

What really happened

You may be really good at

Covering your tracks

Better than you think

Better than it may seem

To you than to her

Because everyone has

Mistakes and regrets

It's just how life works
